Work through a YouTube playlist like a course
Save a playlist or a channel from the LunaNotes sidebar. It keeps your place, tells you what's next, and brings the lessons into your library so you can ask about all of them.
Free to start · used by 44K+ note-takers
Save it from the page you're on
The sidebar offers “Save as course” wherever a course starts on YouTube. One click, and the playlist is yours in its own order.
01
A video inside a playlist

Next is the lesson you actually need
Jump ahead, go back, rewatch. The course card follows where you were last and points at the first video you haven't opened after it.
Pick a day to replay the week. The course card is worked out by the same rule the sidebar runs.

Four in a row. Lecture 8 is already watched, so Next skips over it.
Play next and Continue open that video in the same tab, inside its playlist.
Bring the lessons into your library
Import from the course card and the videos arrive with their transcripts and chapters. Then the Assistant can answer from every lesson at once.
An import starts at your next video, so the allowance goes to what you'll watch next. It skips live streams, videos over 3 hours and anything already in your library. What doesn't fit is counted, not dropped silently.
- Free
- 10 videos, once
- Starter
- 50 videos a month
- Plus
- 300 videos a month
The Free import needs a verified email. See the plans

Every course, one click from YouTube
On any YouTube page that isn't a video, the toolbar icon opens the sidebar's Library: your courses with their progress, the videos you watched last, and the notes you took on them.
- The one you watched last, first
- Courses are listed by when you last opened one of their videos, or saved them.
- Save it again to refresh
- A saved course is a snapshot. When the playlist gains videos, save it again and they join.
- Removing keeps the videos
- Remove a course and every video it imported stays in your library.
- Watched means opened
- A video counts once you open it on YouTube with the sidebar signed in. Videos watched elsewhere don't count yet.
Remember lesson 4 before you start lesson 5
A course is only finished when you can still explain it. The sidebar keeps review a few minutes away from the next video.
How the schedule works is on the AI flashcards page.
- 01
Due cards in the Review tab
The sidebar's Review tab runs up to 10 due cards from all your decks, graded the same way as in the app.
- 02
Cards from the lesson you just finished
When you reach the end of a video, the sidebar offers to turn it into flashcards and add them to your review in one click.
- 03
A practice exam before moving on
Ten questions from the video, each asked once, with a score at the end. Free includes 2 a month, Starter 10, Plus has no limit.
Questions about YouTube courses
What people ask before they try it.
Yes. Courses are saved and followed from the LunaNotes sidebar on YouTube, which comes with the free Chrome extension. The videos you import show up in the LunaNotes app as well.
Any public YouTube playlist, up to its first 200 videos in playlist order. Mixes, Watch later and Liked videos can't be saved: they are endless or private. A channel saves its newest 200 long-form uploads, oldest first.
Yes. Saving courses and tracking your progress is free on every plan. Importing videos is what's metered: 10 videos once on Free, 50 a month on Starter and 300 a month on Plus.
No. Imports count in whole videos against your import allowance, not credits. Each video comes in with its transcript and chapters. Making notes, flashcards or diagrams from it later uses credits as usual.
A video counts as watched once you open it on YouTube with the sidebar signed in. It doesn't know whether you finished it, and videos you watch in the LunaNotes app, signed out, or in another browser don't count.
Your saved course stays as it was. Open the playlist and save it again: the course refreshes with the new videos and keeps your progress.
Imported videos land in the workspace the sidebar is saving to. Pick a shared workspace and everyone in it gets the videos and their transcripts, and can ask the Assistant about them. Progress through the course stays your own.
