Three ways a time gets into a note

Two happen in the sidebar beside the YouTube player, where the extension can read the playback time. The third works in the app, with no player at all.

    Start a note while it plays

    Click New note or press the shortcut. The note takes the playback time as its anchor, and a marker appears under the player.

    Drop one in mid-thought

    The clock in the editor's toolbar, or / Timestamp, inserts the current time wherever the cursor is.

    Type it in the app

    In a LunaNotes note, type a time like 12:04 and a space. It turns into a chip that opens the video at that second.

Your notes become the lecture's index

Six notes over 38 minutes read like a contents page for the video. When a line is unclear at revision time, its time takes you to the explanation instead of the whole lecture.

Under the YouTube player the extension draws the same strip, with a playhead that follows the video. Hover a marker for the note's first lines. Notes written close together fold into one marker; click it to pick one.

Every time is a way back in

Anything with a time on it takes the video to that moment. You never scrub for something you already wrote down.

The times outlive the sidebar, too. Export a note to Markdown or Obsidian and its chips become links to the same moment on YouTube.

You decide whether the video waits

Every new note is stamped with the current time unless you turn that off. Pausing is the other way round: off until you want it.

Switch on Pause video on new note and playback stops the moment you start writing, so the next point does not go past unheard. Hide the note strip if you would rather watch without it.
