One workspace per course, with everything for it inside

A workspace is the whole course, not a folder of notes
Your first workspace is made when you sign up. Add one for each course, project or study group: the sidebar lists every workspace you own or belong to, and each page shows only what is in the one you picked.
- Notes Lecture 4 · light reactions
- Videos The Calvin cycle, 12 min
- Files Week 6 slides.pdf
- Diagrams Light reactions, mapped
- Flashcard decks Photosynthesis, 32 cards
- Saved pages Readings › Week 6
Not in any one workspace, so it does not split when you add another.
- Review one queue for all your decks
- Podcasts your subscriptions
- Meetings your Google Meet calls
Share the workspace, then choose who sees each note
Every member opens the workspace's files, videos, diagrams, decks and saved pages. Notes are different: each one is shared with the members its author picks, one person or everyone, to read or to edit. A member's role caps what any grant can give them.

Press ⌘K and type, typos included
One box searches the workspace you are in, then the rest of your workspaces, and forgives a misspelled word. Here is exactly what it covers.
What it finds
- Notes
- titles and everything written in them
- Flashcard decks
- titles and descriptions
- Diagrams
- titles
- Saved pages
- titles, and on Starter and Plus the words on the page
- Podcasts and meetings
- titles, descriptions and summaries
- App sections
- type Flashcards or Settings to jump there
What it does not search
- Videos and files: open Videos or Files in the sidebar.
- Tags: filter the Notes page by tag.
- Templates: pick one when you start a note.
Link notes with [[ and see what points back
Type [[ in a note and pick another one, or create it from the same menu. The note you linked to lists every note that links back.
The graph view draws a whole workspace, with a switch to show the notes nothing links to yet.
Questions about Organization
What people ask before they try it.
No. Notes are organised by workspace, tags, favourites and links between notes rather than nested folders. Saved pages are the exception: bookmarks file into nested collections.
The Notes page filters by tag, by where a note came from (YouTube, the web or a video tool), by favourites or by archive. Show cards or a compact list, and sort by date or title.
Yes. Any note you can read can be copied into your own library, unless its author turned copying off.
Archive them. They leave the main list without being deleted, and the archive filter brings them back. Starring, archiving or tagging a note never changes what is written in it.
You can join any workspace you are invited to. How many you can own, and how many members each one holds, depends on your plan, and the app tells you when you reach the limit.
No. Workspaces, sharing, tags, search and links never use credits, on any plan.
Yes. Workspaces and everything in them are stored in your account, so they are the same in any browser and in the browser extension.
