Every note you link, on one map you can explore
Link one note to another with [[ and LunaNotes draws the line. The graph puts a whole workspace on one canvas, sized by how connected each note is and coloured by its tag. Try it: point at a note.

Every line starts as a [[ in a note
You don't draw the graph. You write, and link a note to the ones it builds on. Each link becomes a line from this note to that one.
- Type [[ to link
- Pick a note from the list, or create a new one from the same menu. The / menu's Link to Note does the same.
- Counted, not doubled
- Link to the same note again and it stays one line, counted twice and drawn a little heavier.
- Rename freely
- A link points at the note itself, not its title. Rename a note and every line to it stays.
- Drawn after you save
- Links are added to the graph in the background, moments after the note saves.
Read a course at a glance
Four things carry the meaning. Once you know them, a minute with the graph tells you what a course hangs on and where the gaps are.
Size is how linked it is
Links in and out both count. The notes your course hangs on are the big ones.
Colour is its first tag
The first tag you gave a note colours it, so a course's topics read as regions. Untagged notes stay grey.
Hover shows the direction
Point at a note: lines it sends turn amber, lines it receives turn bold, and the rest fades back.
Distance is how close the ideas are
Linked notes pull together and unrelated ones drift apart. A note between two clusters is the one that ties them.
Find the notes nothing links to
A note with no links in or out is an orphan. The graph hides them so the shape stays readable, then brings them back with one switch.
- 1
Find them
Turn on Show orphans. The switch says how many there are.
- 2
Open one
Click any note on the graph and it opens.
- 3
Give it a place
Type [[ in it, or link to it from a note that should mention it. Next time, it is part of the map.
No links at all yet? Then every note shows from the start, so a new graph is never blank.

Each workspace has its own graph, and each member sees their part
Share a course's workspace and everyone in it can open its graph. What each person sees is drawn from the notes they can open.
- One graph per workspace
- Each workspace draws its own notes. Switch workspace in the sidebar and the graph follows.
- Only what you can open
- A note that isn't shared with you is not on your graph, and neither are its lines.
- Links stay inside
- A link only connects notes in the same workspace, so one course's map never pulls in another's.
Questions about Knowledge graph
What people ask before they try it.
Only the links you add inside a note with [[. Tags give a note its colour but draw no lines.
No. Every point on the graph is a note. Videos, files, diagrams and decks stay in their own pages of your library.
Yes, on every plan. Linking notes and exploring the graph involve no AI, so they never use credits.
On the Notes page, click Graph next to the filters, or press ⌘K and type “graph”. It opens on the workspace you are in.
Renaming keeps every link. A note in the trash leaves the graph and comes back with its links if you restore it. Delete it for good and its lines go; links to it in other notes show that it was deleted.
Links are drawn from your saved notes in the background, so a new one can take a moment. Open the graph again and it is there.
Each member of a shared workspace sees its graph, drawn from the notes they can open. A note shared with only some members appears only on their graphs.
