[00:00]

reason 95 of youtube channels don't grow

[00:02]

is because of this

[00:03]

the youtube chain and when one of the

[00:05]

five links breaks the whole thing falls

[00:07]

apart so ends your chance fast growth

[00:11]

and sadly by the end of this video many

[00:12]

of you are going to realize that the

[00:13]

reason the growth of your channel is so

[00:15]

static is because you've only been

[00:16]

focusing on this part of the chain maybe

[00:19]

that bit and i'm afraid a two link chain

[00:21]

is useless scooby-doo would never have

[00:23]

been able to help bad guys with that

[00:26]

but luckily you're also going to learn

[00:28]

the system to use to fix this just like

[00:30]

these two channels did but before we get

[00:31]

into that let's reveal the biggest

[00:33]

problem you have right now which is the

[00:34]

fourth link on our chain making videos

[00:37]

you've been told countless times before

[00:38]

make the best videos and you'll grow but

[00:41]

it's simply not true and that's because

[00:42]

the best videos means different things

[00:44]

to different people but does that mean

[00:46]

they have to be the funniest or tell the

[00:47]

best story or be the most informative of

[00:49]

all of those things well actually

[00:51]

it's none of them because the best

[00:52]

videos on youtube are the ones your

[00:54]

target audience are interested enough to

[00:56]

click on and that's why channels don't

[00:57]

grow because in order to find out what

[00:58]

your target audience finds interesting

[01:00]

and then deliver on that these other

[01:02]

four sections of the chain have to be

[01:03]

your main focus before you can make the

[01:05]

best video possible now you're probably

[01:07]

wondering what those sections are so let

[01:09]

me reveal the first one to you and this

[01:11]

is the most important one it's about

[01:13]

what i call your avatars for growth you

[01:15]

have to understand what type of content

[01:17]

these guys consider to be interesting

[01:19]

and that's what holds the majority of

[01:20]

creators back they don't focus here

[01:22]

anywhere near enough

[01:24]

how many times have i said to you why

[01:26]

would our viewers care about that in the

[01:28]

last 30 days

[01:30]

4.563 million

[01:32]

i wish she was joking but how do you

[01:34]

work that out you move on to the second

[01:35]

link in the chain if you want to

[01:37]

transform your channel in two months

[01:38]

then start researching and looking for

[01:40]

patterns 30 minutes a day this is what

[01:42]

all the best youtubers in the world are

[01:43]

doing all of the time and you'll notice

[01:45]

the results of them doing it too for

[01:47]

example when ryan tran made this video

[01:48]

here which blew up eric suddenly made

[01:50]

this thumbnail and then someone else and

[01:52]

then another dark mysterious background

[01:54]

and an orange jumpsuit became a pattern

[01:56]

on youtube the top creators all tried to

[01:58]

harness why because they noticed it

[02:00]

worked on a human level everyone was at

[02:02]

it even the germans it's not about

[02:04]

making a carbon copy though originality

[02:06]

is still important now what's cool is to

[02:09]

find this information i've actually set

[02:10]

up my vid iq to track who i consider to

[02:12]

be the best youtubers in the world and

[02:14]

what this does it gives me a list i can

[02:16]

then just scroll through that helps me

[02:18]

spot trends they might have all picked

[02:19]

up on together but if you do this you

[02:21]

need to make sure you're learning from

[02:22]

content that works not the videos people

[02:24]

made that didn't and actually that's

[02:26]

where it gets a little bit confusing

[02:28]

especially when every video a creator

[02:30]

you're studying gets hundreds of

[02:31]

thousands of views to get around this

[02:33]

you want to use the views per hour

[02:34]

feature on vid iq and then establish

[02:36]

what's getting a lot of views now so you

[02:38]

don't analyze dead videos that didn't

[02:40]

actually do well in terms of reaching a

[02:42]

new audience or you could go to a whole

[02:44]

new level on this and do what tyler does

[02:46]

so i downloaded this airac script and i

[02:48]

analyzed it line by line to break down

[02:50]

how he uses the three act structure and

[02:52]

the retention tactics he uses then you

[02:54]

can move on to the next link in the

[02:56]

chain planning this is where you take

[02:57]

all the information you've learned from

[02:59]

the first two links and then devise a

[03:00]

way to put it into a video the first

[03:02]

step is to have an interesting idea you

[03:04]

think your viewers will love then to

[03:06]

work out a thumbnail and title they will

[03:07]

click on be careful though because this

[03:09]

is where a ton of creators fall down

[03:11]

because you know how awesome your video

[03:12]

is but your avatars won't so go and look

[03:14]

at the research and work you've done on

[03:16]

them and then ask yourself how do i make

[03:18]

this information clickable to them

[03:21]

because a video title stuffed with

[03:22]

keywords that says exactly what it's

[03:24]

about is often too specific so there's

[03:26]

no intrigue or sense of wondering what

[03:27]

might happen and that's what gets clicks

[03:29]

when youtube recommends your videos then

[03:31]

you move on to planning your videos

[03:33]

story information and creative elements

[03:35]

and work out how to make the best video

[03:38]

on this topic you possibly can which

[03:40]

brings us onto the link most people

[03:42]

focus all their energy on the fourth

[03:43]

link production and as i said at the

[03:45]

start this should be a byproduct of all

[03:48]

of the other links production might take

[03:50]

you an hour it might take you weeks but

[03:52]

for many of us including myself it's

[03:54]

actually one of the shortest parts of

[03:55]

the process apart from sometimes editing

[03:57]

takes ages but let's just forget i said

[03:59]

that to prove my point many of you won't

[04:00]

do this bit and then many of you will do

[04:02]

far too much of it this is the final

[04:04]

part of the chain when you focus on it

[04:05]

will ensure that every time you repeat

[04:07]

this whole process you get better and

[04:09]

better here you have to use the data

[04:11]

youtube gives you to work out firstly

[04:12]

how interesting your viewers found your

[04:14]

title and thumbnail and video idea by

[04:16]

studying the click-through rates at

[04:17]

certain points and then you look at your

[04:19]

attention and you ask yourself how good

[04:21]

a job did i do of keeping them

[04:22]

entertained you check your comments to

[04:24]

see if you hit your comment goals and if

[04:25]

you did enough to inspire an emotional

[04:27]

reaction from your audience and then you

[04:28]

need to establish if you manage to get

[04:29]

people to watch another video after

[04:31]

because we don't want one video to get

[04:33]

watched ever we want people to watch 10

[04:35]

in a row because that's what makes

[04:37]

channels fly this data on a video is one

[04:39]

of the most obvious signs you have that

[04:40]

you've managed to achieve that all i'll

[04:42]

say is try your hardest to get this

[04:43]

number to 20 and after you release the

[04:45]

video detach all emotion from its

[04:47]

performance and if it did badly just ask

[04:50]

why and react to that in your next video

[04:51]

and if it did well ask why and then make

[04:54]

sure you build on that people say you

[04:55]

need to make hundreds of videos on

[04:57]

youtube to get traction but actually i

[04:59]

kind of disagree we need to do is

[05:00]

understand humans and make videos they

[05:02]

find interesting time and time again

[05:04]

there's no magic number to aim for now

[05:06]

that could be ten videos for one person

[05:08]

or ten thousand for another all of our

[05:10]

journeys will be different just don't

[05:11]

hit record and expect different results

[05:12]

if you're not hitting each five parts of

[05:14]

the chain and don't ignore this video

[05:16]

here because it's gonna help you fix

[05:17]

section two of the chain and show you

[05:19]

how to turn research into highly

[05:20]

clickable video ideas oh and i also got

[05:22]

chased by a bear
