So, you want to play the doorman? Well, do you respect service workers? Do you like being stylish, annoying,
disrespectful, perhaps all at the same time? Do you like vexing opponents, denying opponents the ability to play
the game? Most importantly, do you resonate with the phrase, "It's not about winning, it's about sending a
message." Then the door man might just be for you. Pros: Zoning. He's got good burst damage from a safe distance, and
he's got a little area denial in his kit. He is the god of crowd control. Three of his abilities are strong CC
tools. Burst damage utility, he can peel for his teammates or provide escape or flank rounds with its doorway.
Versatile, he's adaptable at any situation depending on how you build. Map control. It says there in his hero
tags, he can team fight or split push very effectively and slippery. A good door man knows how to get away from a
sticky situation. Cons: Very squishy. Suffers heavily from silences or any CC for that matter.
Expensive. If you want to make the most of him, if you want to carry your team, you're going to need a lot of souls to
buy the right items. Speaking of which, extremely dependent on team coordination. If your team is bad or
can't follow up or communicate, it's pretty much GG. Unforgiving. You make one mistake, one bad old or
door, it'll cost you. And high skill floor and ceiling, you're playing the second hardest character in the game.
Here's a quick overview of his abilities. Number one, call bell, your main damaging tool. Throw a bell that
you can detonate by shooting it or waiting for seconds unless it's maxed. Use these wisely. Number two, doorway.
The portals. You can run through them, shoot through them, and teammates [music] and enemies can go through them.
Three, luggage cart. Push a big ass luggage cart that damages enemies and sends them along the way. When fully
upgraded, it will stun enemies when they collide with a wall. Keep in mind there's a bit of a delay, so practice
that in order to get used to the timing. Number [music] four, hotel guest. Banish an enemy to the shadow, I mean the
baroness, for a maximum of 6.5 seconds. Who you banish matters. Now, let's talk about what to do with him in the phases
of the game. Sit back and hit your opponents with the bells as much as you can. Try to go for
it when your opponent is last hitting a minion. Make sure to follow the tempo of your lane partner. If they're being
aggressive, follow them from a distance. If they're being passive, stay with them and use your bells and cart to fend off
your enemies. You can use your doors to provide alternate angles to throw bells at your enemies. One thing I like to do
is put them somewhere above them and start raining hell on them as they're taking a second to figure out what the
hell's going on. You can use your cart for three things. Pushing them away if they try to jump you, getting behind
them, and pushing them to your teammate so that they get slimed. And if you're feeling extra spicy, try to go for a
trick shot if they're low health. Once your ult is up, you generally want to use it to execute, [music] initiate, or
get away. The doorman's mid game is much more straightforward. If you have ult, that's
when you should be helping snowball the other lanes if their opponents are pushed up. If neither lane is ready for
a fight, put a door somewhere safe on your side of the map and start taking enemy jungle and boxes, especially the
centers. [music] If you don't have ult, start split pushing and focusing objectives by putting a door somewhere
discreet enough so that you can safely door your way out should someone try to jump you.
Play around your team. You want to use the map to look for picks or fights. Team fights will happen a lot. During
these, you want to use your bells to cover as much ground and whittle away as much of your opponent's health as
possible. Use your card to save a teammate from getting jumped and or whenever you know you can land a good
stun nearby for your team to follow up. Use your ult on the most important and or most immobile member of the enemy
team. Use your door to poke or to ambush if someone on your team can initiate fights. This part requires experience,
so I strongly suggest either just learning through trial and error or by playing Street Brawl.
And that about sums it up. If this video helped you understand the doorman [music] better, please give it a like
and share. It helps more than you realize since my channel's growth has stagnated for quite [music] some time
and I needed to revive as I'm financially struggling. If you want more door manages, just more deadlock content
in [music] general. I upload that stuff quite often on my channel. So, please subscribe. I also stream on [music]
Twitch and I'm close to reaching my first follower milestone. So, please follow me there. Yeah, that's all I have
to say for the matter. Take care. Peace.
The Doorman has four main abilities: Call Bell (primary damage and zoning tool), Doorway (portals for mobility and positioning), Luggage Cart (pushes enemies back and stuns if they hit terrain), and the ultimate Hotel Guest (banishes an enemy for 6.5 seconds). Effective use involves strategic placement of portals to control map movement, timing the Luggage Cart stun for crowd control, and targeting high-value enemies with the ultimate during team fights.
Since the Doorman is very squishy and vulnerable to silences and crowd control, positioning is critical. Use portals to create escape routes and reposition quickly. Prioritize peeling with Luggage Cart to protect yourself and teammates, and avoid front-line engagements without proper team support and coordination.
In the early game, focus on harassing enemies with Call Bells to disrupt their last hits. Coordinate aggression with your lane partners, use Doorways to create unexpected attack angles, and deploy Luggage Cart to disrupt enemy advances or set up combos with teammates. Consistent pressure will help secure lane control and map dominance.
In mid game, use your ultimate to influence fights across lanes and assist in snowballing. When the ultimate is on cooldown, prioritize split pushing and securing objectives, leveraging portals for safe escapes. During team fights, maximize Call Bell coverage on enemies, peel with Luggage Cart, and target immobile foes with your ultimate. Strategic door placement remains key for ambushes and repositioning.
The Doorman demands a high skill ceiling due to fragile stats, reliance on team coordination, and precise mechanics like portal timing and Luggage Cart stuns. To overcome these challenges, practice timing and placement of abilities diligently, maintain constant communication with your team, and experiment tactically to understand the hero's versatility and map control nuances.
The Doorman excels in zoning enemies through burst damage and crowd control abilities, controlling movement with portals, and creating pressure by split pushing. In team fights, he can disrupt enemy formations with Luggage Cart, peel for allies, and neutralize key targets with his ultimate. This multi-faceted control over space and enemy positioning makes him invaluable for coordinated team strategies.
