Overview: The Power of Right Thinking
The core message is that true transformation comes not from trying harder or seeking emotional experiences, but from changing what you believe about yourself and God. The speaker passionately argues that many Christians live defeated because they see themselves as unworthy, when God sees them as cleansed and valuable through Jesus' sacrifice. This faulty identity leads to a life spent troubleshooting problems rather than walking in the victory Christ already won. To start this journey, consider How to Embrace God’s Plans and Transform Your Life in the New Year, which offers practical steps for aligning your beliefs with His truth.
Key Themes and Takeaways
1. You Become What You Believe
- If you don't believe you're clean, you'll never live clean.
- "As a man thinketh, so is he." Your internal beliefs dictate your external life.
- Transformation is a work of grace through the renewing of your mind, not through your own hard work or discipline. This foundational principle is explored further in Healing and Health: The Biblical and Scientific Power of Thought, which shows how your mindset affects all areas of life.
2. The Price Jesus Paid Reveals Your Value
- The cross isn't just about your sin; it's about your value, purpose, and potential.
- When you pay a high price for something, you believe it is worth that price. God paid the highest price (His Son) for you, proving your immense worth.
- Religion makes the cross about unworthiness, but the gospel reveals your priceless identity.
3. Settle What You Believe
- Let your heart be established in faith. Don't let circumstances challenge what God's Word says.
- The heroes of faith in Hebrews 11 believed what they couldn't see. Like them, hold onto truth even when life doesn't shift.
- Find your identity in your knowledge of God (relationship), not just knowledge about God (religion). Knowledge without love puffs up. For more on maintaining this perspective, read Master Your Mind: Raise Vibration and Manifest Your Reality.
4. The Purpose of Grace: Manifesting God
- Romans 5:1-3 teaches we have access to grace in which we stand in hope of the glory of God.
- The glory of God is any manifested attribute of God. His grace enables you to make God seen and known.
- This is more than just getting your bills paid; it's about revealing Christ through your life, especially in difficulty. Unlocking Your True Power: The Path to Eternal Consciousness dives deeper into this idea of living out your divine identity.
5. Tribulation Reveals and Makes You
- You don't need to
97% of them never walking through their kitchen. Thank you for loving me, Father.
Just in the bathroom getting ready for work. Father, I just thank you that you love
me, that you wash me clean, that you see me through your son. Thank you. Forgive me great confidence in your
presence. 97% never just driving in their car. Thanks for loving me.
I so appreciate that you made me clean. See, if you don't believe you're clean, you'll never look clean. You'll never
live clean. If you're not thinking clean, how you going to live clean? All you'll be aware of is what's wrong.
You're always a step behind. There's always something wrong. So, then you go into prayer and it's
troubleshooting. It's like, God, you got to do something with this wicked heart of mine. I've
been saved for how long? If it didn't change by now, what are you God, please. Huh? New heart? Hello.
That's what people do and they call that prayer. No, Father, thank you that you have my
attention. God, I yield myself to you and I thank you that everything you are is working in me. And God, I just thank
you that you're growing me in wisdom and truth. When I look through my eyes, I see WHAT YOU BEHOLD. GOD, THANK YOU.
YOU'VE MADE ME ONE with you. That's communion. Not, God, if you don't touch me soon,
this is bad. Come on. Cuz as a man thinketh,
so you keep going into prayer waiting for the magic moment. Like the stun gun.
Oh. I feel better. Who knows that's probably not the way it
happens. You see different. You become different.
We just I just talked to somebody back here. How are you transformed? By your hard work and ingenuity and discipline?
You're transformed by the renewing of your That sounds like a work of grace. That
sounds pretty simple. God ought to probably get all the glory. Yeah.
So, you're telling ME IF I JUST THINK DIFFERENTLY, I'M GOING TO LIVE DIFFERENTLY?
IF I ACTUALLY BELIEVE DIFFERENTLY, IF I ACTUALLY BELIEVE MY LIFE IS WORTH THE BLOOD of Jesus instead of, "Oh,
yeah, I'm so unworthy and I'm barely saved. I'm a crackpot and saved by the skin of my own teeth and well, God uses
crackpots." This is so religious. Like, no.
No. He paid the price. He set the price.
He came up with the price. WHO'S EVER PAID a high price for something that you didn't think
had the value when you possessed it? Come on, we're two for one. People, we're like buy one, get one free. We're
like sweaters in the spring and shorts in the fall. Though, you know I'm telling the truth,
65% off. And if you wait a little bit, you might hit that 80% deal in late November.
And your spouse is like, "Why'd you buy them? July clothes in November." 80% OFF.
BECAUSE THAT'S CUZ IF YOU WRITE THE CHECK, YOU'RE SURE THAT WHAT YOU'RE GETTING IN
EXCHANGE IS WORTH what you're paying. Come on, THAT'S JUST YOU KNOW THAT. YOU'RE YOU'RE YOU GUYS, YOU'RE WORKING
THE CAR DEALER DOWN. YOU'RE TAKING HIS COMMISSION. YOU DON'T CARE IF HIS CHILDREN STARVE. YOU ARE GETTING A GOOD
BUY. AND YOU'RE SURE HE BOUGHT THAT AT AUCTION FOR NOTHING AND HE'S TRYING TO
MAKE A MONTH'S WAGES ON THAT THING. YOU'RE SURE. IT AIN'T ALWAYS TRUE, but you're sure. SO, YOU'RE JUST COMING DOWN
AND DOWN AND IN PENNSYLVANIA, I don't know how it works here, but we're trying to get them to absorb the transfers and
the tags, TITLES, AND ALL THOSE FEES AND THE TAXES. AND WE'RE THROWING THAT IN WITH THE
REDUCTION PRICE. AND WHEN YOU FINALLY WRITE THE CHECK, WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE?
THAT THE CAR YOU'RE DRIVING OFF THE LOT IS WELL WORTH.
NOT CLOSE TO WHAT, WELL WORTH. AM I TELLING THE TRUTH HERE? SO, WHEN WE LOOK AT THE CROSS AND THE
PRICE JESUS PAID, WE ALWAYS MAKE IT ABOUT OUR SIN. NOBODY'S EVER IT'S LIKE WE THINK IT'S
BLASPHEMY TO MAKE IT ABOUT OUR VALUE, OUR PURPOSE, our potential. Religion hates this teaching.
Just Just people THAT HAVE A KNOWLEDGE OF GOD WITHOUT the heart of God. Just to get stuffy in knowledge.
KNOWLEDGE WILL PUFF YOU UP. You can know all about God. That's That doesn't mean you know God.
In fact, the people that seem TO KNOW ALL ABOUT GOD, COULD QUOTE SCRIPTURE, AND OUT QUOTE ME BIG TIME, ARE MEAN.
AND THERE'S NOTHING REALLY EXCITING AND DESIRABLE ABOUT THEIR LIFE. BUT, BOY, THEY CAN QUOTE THAT SCRIPTURE.
And they can set you straight. And if you missed one little word, and you better pronounce the Greek right.
Okay, that'll change the world. I'm not disrespecting anybody. I'm just saying you can find your identity in
your knowledge, and that's the bummer. I've never seen anyone find their identity in their knowledge that was
attractive in Christ. That was encouraged and life-giving. And could offer hope. They could just
offer correction. Are we okay? What are we doing, pastor? Help me. Are
we all right? No, it's funny cuz I don't even have a what we're doing right now, but I'm
hoping you're getting something. I'm not talking in riddles, right? You're hearing?
Woo, good. Cuz when I start feeling like this, it's just funny cuz people say, "Man, that was really good." And I'm
like, "I didn't have a clue. I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT WE WERE DOING." I DON'T EVEN KNOW.
LIKE WE'RE COVERING EVERYTHING. We went from trials to circumstances to We've been everywhere.
I mean, I just have a short time with you all. It means a lot in my heart. I left my Bible back in his office. He
said, "Well, you have hid that word in your heart." I said, "Oh, yeah, it's definitely here."
Yeah. I'm I'm never unarmed. You you you you have to fill your heart with the truth or you'll never discern a
lie. I mean, every one of us has to settle on what we believe. I I think that's a
strong conviction in my heart tonight. I started off that way. I'm back there now.
Like every one of us in this room, come on. It's very important to settle what you believe. Let your heart be
established in faith. Right? It says the coming of the Lord is
near. Let your heart be established for the coming of the Lord is is nigh or near.
Like you got to settle what you believe and not let the way life works out challenge that.
But find what you believe through the word and through Jesus' life, and then you stick to that until life begins to
shift and line up. And even if life doesn't shift and line up, you see the truth and you're going
to hold on to it. And you're not budging. There was people in Hebrews 11,
patriarchs, they they they gave their lives for something they saw far off and never actually stepped into.
That was reserved for our day. They gave their lives believing something that never came in their season.
But they wouldn't compromise. What a testimony, whom the world was not worthy.
Woo, if you could get that one. Man, stand before the Lord and carry that one into eternal life, whom the
world was not worthy. You just didn't want the passing pleasures of sin.
You decided to suffer hardship being in the world not of the world. When it says hardship, it means being misunderstood
or not understood, persecution. People that don't know that think they know.
Like when I got saved, I'm 13 years unsaved, same guys working with them 13 years. Now I'm transformed, imagine
that, cuz I was saved. No, no, I went into work changed. I didn't preach Jesus, I didn't take
tracts. I said, "Lord, I've seen people say they were saved, hand out tracts, and then go back into the bars and all
this stuff. I ain't mentioning you until they ask me what's up with me. When they see something in me different, I'll be
ready to respond, but I'm not going in there and evangelizing." So, Lord, help me if I'm wrong on that,
but please keep my life transformed and let Four days after I'm saved, they sent a guy in the bathroom to find out what
was going on with me. And I never mentioned Jesus. I was just different.
I asked him, "Why are you asking me?" He said, "Oh, come on, man. Everybody's talking about I like, "What happened to
you? We're like thinking, you know, you're brainwashed. You got to hooked up with some people in a cult or
something." Like, he said, "Please He said, "Please don't tell me you went holy roller on us."
I said, "I don't know anything about holy rolling, but I know my life has changed for good."
He told me, "I'll be back to the same old guy in a few months. It'll wear off. It's all emotional. I've seen it over
and over in my life." I said, "No, buddy. This has nothing to do with emotion. I see this thing in my heart.
God's real. He changed my life and that old guy you're saying is coming back is way dead.
And here I am 31 in June, 31 years later. AND I HAVEN'T CALMED DOWN ALL THAT MUCH.
My friends say I'm worse. The ones that knew me the whole time. They tell me I'm worse cuz I've always
said I'll be this way or worse if you ever see me again. Why would I be worse? Cuz I might know
him just a little bit more. Not know about him, know him. Just a little bit. So they're
persecuting me and I know him now. So I finally know who I am. I have the most peace I've ever know I didn't even
know the peace that I experienced when I got saved was possible. I kept saying over and over for days, I'll never be
the same. I'll never be the same. My life will never be the same. Whether it was a prophetic declaration,
I don't know, but it was a revelation. My life's never been the same. I haven't had down spirals. I haven't had the dark
night of the soul, whatever that teaching out there is that I don't even WANT TO UNDERSTAND.
I THINK PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO PREACH their experiences and make it spiritual. I think what we should do is look at the
word and let the word transform us and be unmovable AND UNSHAKABLE CUZ EVERYTHING THAT CAN BE SHAKEN IN HEBREWS
IS GOING TO BE SHAKEN. SO LET US HAVE GRACE THAT WE CAN STAND BEFORE YOU ACCEPTABLY.
YEAH? WOOHOO! THEY WERE PERSECUTING ME. HOW CAN YOU
PERSECUTE ME? GOD'S REAL. LIKE WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO SAY? HURT MY FEELINGS? ARE YOU kidding me? It's
hilarious. Well, he's this and this and no, I'M HAVING THE TIME OF MY LIFE. I FINALLY
YOU FEEL GOOD ABOUT MYSELF AND I ACTUALLY THINK I CARE ABOUT YOU NOW. YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN?
LIKE YEAH, FOR REAL. Like everything's different and you're going to persecute me?
I have more peace THAN I CAN EXPLAIN. I'M WAKING UP AND EITHER I'M HEARING VOICES OR I'M HEARING HIS VOICE, BUT
IT'S IT WAS HIS VOICE. AND I KNEW IT. WHAT ARE YOU PERSECUTING? GOD'S REAL.
YOU CAN PERSECUTE A PERSON'S theology all you want, but you are you can't touch my relationship. I've been with
him. Your theology can say anything you want. You can say how I've been wrong all
these years and all this stuff. Have at it. I've been with him
for a long time. And I got a whole lot of people that know I've been with him a long time.
There's a whole train of fruit following along of lives changed, people changed, marriages restored, bodies healed.
Like more than you can fathom. Like I I reminisce. I lay on my bed reminiscing get overwhelmed
and start to cry. Just starting to reminisce the seasons of my life and what I've seen and
experienced and enjoyed because of knowing him. And you're going to persecute me cuz you disagree with me
theologically or you don't understand? The Bible says men will mock and scoff at the things they don't understand.
Well, if you don't understand, you probably shouldn't do anything. But I guess that's what pride does.
Woohoo! I'm having fun, man. So, let's all be believers. And let's please this is this is some
things we covered tonight. Let's not be saved for our sake. Let's not be a Christian for our sake.
Let's be a Christian for his name's sake. It's the only true scriptural reason for
being saved is for his glory. Now, we all say that in a spiritual tone in services and church. We we all say for
his glory. It's all for his oh, it ain't me. It was him. You know, people say they were singing,
"Well, it wasn't me." And they're like, "Well, it wasn't that good." You know, you say, "It was the Lord."
No, no, wait. It wasn't that good, but it was good, but it wasn't that good. You know how we're real quick to say,
"Oh, it's all him. It's all him." No, no, here's how you know when you're living for his glory. Your attitudes
matter. Your responses to people, what your life looks like matters when you're living
for his glory. You don't give yourself permission for anything that you can't find in him.
And if you find yourself living there, it matters to you, not in condemnation, in conviction to where you want that
fixed. You want to grow up into him in all things because you want to rightly represent the one that you adore, the
one that you love so much. You want him to love through you, and you want people to see
the one you love so much. And that's without you trying to live like Jesus. That's like mechanical and
work. That can get weird. It's you waking up and being with him, laying on your bed and not being in a
hurry. You say, "We don't know my schedule." So, just get up 15 minutes earlier even.
And just say, "Lord, I trust you to get up 15 minutes earlier. But I just need to be with you. I just
want to set my I want to put my spiritual stuff on before I ever roll out of this bed." It would just be
really good to get your heart trained to wake up in him. Not wake up and go, "Oh, man, you got to get up already?"
"God, I I got a lot on my plate today and work's going to be challenging. Oh, that's right, and I got to work with
Jimmy. Oh, God." Come on, that's not prayer. Stop. None of that's prayer. Stop.
No, I'm talking about laying there, "Well, Father, thank you for loving me. So, appreciate you.
Man, my life is such a gift. I haven't always seen that. I haven't always appreciated that. There's times I've
dreaded days, dreaded my job, dreaded people I'm around, but man, you're changing everything.
You're helping me to see the value of my life in you and you and me, and now I'm seeing the value of everybody else.
This gospel's changing me. Thank you for the grace to manifest you today without even trying because I've
yielded. I've surrendered. You're in me and I'm in you. Thank you, Lord Jesus Christ, for being
the hope of the glory of God in my life. Thank you. You know what the glory of God is? It's any revealed, manifested
attribute of God. The glory of God is any attribute of God made known. It's not a mist, it's not a smoke, it's
not a feeling. It's a manifestation of the person of God is the glory of God. Now, can he
come in all those other things? Yeah, but there's always a manifestation of his nature
when there's a manifestation of his glory. Are you with me?
So, watch. The Christ in you is the hope. The hope. There's a hope.
What hope? The Christ in you is the hope of making God seen, known, and realized. Watch.
We have peace with God through the Lord Jesus Christ. We've been justified by faith. It's Romans 5:1.
We now have access into his grace in which we stand. His grace is his working power and ability on your behalf. His
grace is him doing in you what you couldn't do on your own. His grace. So, now you have access into this grace in
which you stand in hope of the glory of God. What is that? In hope of the manifestation of God. What's the
purpose of his grace? That all your bills get paid and that everything goes smooth? No, no, no. THE PURPOSE OF HIS
GRACE IS THAT YOU can manifest who he is in your life. When the bills are paid AND WHEN THEY'RE
NOT PAID, PAUL SAID, "WHETHER I HAVE ENOUGH OR DON'T have enough, I DON'T CHANGE. I know why I'm here."
HE SAID, "GODLINESS WITH CONTENTMENT is great gain." "I don't count my own life dear. EVERY
CITY I GO TO, PERSECUTIONS AND CHANGE AWAIT me there." Now, we have a theology today that says,
"Now, brother, you need to use wisdom." HE SAID, "STOP BOTHERING ME WITH YOUR FEAR."
I DON'T COUNT MY OWN LIFE DEAR. AND none of these things are moving me in order THAT I MIGHT FULFILL THE reason
he purchased me and lives inside of me is really what he's saying. I just paraphrased it.
Are you with me? OOH, THAT SOUNDS LIKE a far cry more than attending a church service or
belonging to a local church. I mean, belong to a local church, but make sure it's one that has a vision of
identity in in Christ and that Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday is so important that that's why you gather
Sunday so you're stirred up in love and good works so your life matters through the week.
Cuz if not, you're just going to do church instead of be her. Come on, and you'll find your identity
in your service of the church instead of your manifestation of Christ. Also, your functional matter more. Your
little title. Not demeaning it. It's important to keep things rolling, but it should be with
the highest purpose. Cuz honestly, if we're not here for that reason, then what are we doing?
We don't find our identity in gathering. We find our identity in him. And in gathering, we get stirred up in love and
good works, and we leave here and manifest Christ in our lives. That's why we come back and celebrate him. No
worship leader should ever have to plow the ground. You ever feel one of those moments where
you have to plow the ground? That's because we're letting things matter more than what matters most.
If we were just living him, you wouldn't be able to contain the worship. You wouldn't be able to contain the
thanksgiving and the praise, and that's not hype. That's real.
It's joy unspeakable. You would this this should be a assembling of Now, not everybody's in that place, but there
should be a majority of us coming here at at least a good lump sum of us coming in here and we have just lived him this
week. And we've been challenged like we've always been challenged and people have
done the same things they've always done. But we understand who we are and our
response is in God and we're not Instead of I know and the worship's starting and everybody's coming I know it's been a
challenging week for many of you and some of you have come from and I know and and you know and
and you know right now you just need to shake that off. Everybody just in faith with me just shake that off and
Do you ever been in A SERVICE LIKE THAT? COME ON. WHAT ARE WE DOING?
SORRY IF you've ever done that as a pastor. I'm not making fun of you. I'm correcting you. Don't ever do that
again. Like What do you mean just shake it off? WE'RE GOING TO prophetically just shake it off. NO, YOU GOT TO THINK
DIFFERENT. YOU GOT TO SEE DIFFERENT. YOU DON'T JUST SHAKE IT OFF. OR YOU'RE GOING TO HAVE TO SHAKE OFF EVERY SUNDAY WHEN
YOU COME CUZ YOU'RE COMING IN MUDDIED BY LIFE. AND NOW YOU CAN'T EVEN PRAISE HIM CUZ
YOU'RE SO BEAT DOWN BY THINGS THAT DON'T MATTER MORE. IS THAT ALL RIGHT IF I JUST say it
straight? I mean I'm here. Y'all laughing and seem like you like me. I'm going for it, you know, I'm like
I mean I'm here and going so quick this weekend I don't even know if you have time to stone me.
Can Can you Can you tell I'm sharing these things cuz they'll help us?
There's none of this is correction. It doesn't even feel like correction. It's like this is what we're here for. This
is who he is. This is who we are. Let's stop letting things matter more if it's not what matters most.
We have access into this grace in which we now stand in hope of the manifestation of God.
Oh my goodness. Can I just quote that scripture for you? The the way I
I mean I I read out of certain translation. I read a bunch too actually, but but I won't do it
injustice. Watch. We've We've We have peace We've now have peace with God through the Lord Jesus Christ being
justified by faith. It's Romans 5:1. Pretty much is what it is. Verse two says then we have access now
into his grace in which we stand in hope of the glory of God. And not only that, he's ramping up. Like it's going to get
better. Like he just gave you peace with God through Jesus, access into his grace in which we now stand, AND NOT ONLY THAT
GUYS, WE GLORY IN OUR TRIBULATION. OH, SOME OF YOU DIDN'T KNOW THAT was coming, did you?
So we got to just JOIN IT HALF-HEARTED. THERE'S A FEW SINCERE AND A FEW and a few what?
Is it there? And not only that, is that acceleration? And not only that in the English
language, is he ramping up? Uh-huh. SO WOULD YOU GO BACK TO verse one for me?
THEREFORE, HAVING BEEN JUSTIFIED BY FAITH, we have peace with God through the Lord Jesus Christ. Wow.
THROUGH WHOM WE NOW HAVE ACCESS BY FAITH INTO this grace in which we stand rejoice in the hope. WOW.
AND NOT ONLY THAT, WE GLORY WHEN ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE. WELL, WAIT A MINUTE. THAT IS not my
experience as a pastor and a leader in Christian Christian world.
Tribulation is usually tears in the counseling appointment. Let's see verse three.
And not only that, we What do we know? Tribulation
reveals reveals that I'm for real. That I'm not fly-by-night and in this
for me, that I'm no-nonsense, SURRENDERED, DENIED MYSELF, PICKING UP MY CROSS AND FOLLOWING HIM, PUT MY HAND
TO THE PLOW AND AIN'T NO SUCH THING AS LOOKING BACK. I ENDURE HARDSHIP AS A GOOD SOLDIER THAT I MIGHT
FULFILL THE ONE WHO ENLISTED ME'S WILL AND DESIRE. I NO LONGER AM ENTANGLED IN THE AFFAIRS OF THIS LIFE AND UNLESS I
LOVE LESS, ALL THESE THINGS DEAR TO ME I MAY NO MEANS EVER be his disciple. WOW.
KNOWING THAT TRIBULATION REVEALS TO THE ENEMY AND EVERYBODY ELSE IN MY OWN CONSCIENCE THAT I'M FOR REAL. I ain't
fly-by-night, I ain't for sale. I've been bought WITH A PRICE AND I'M NOT MY OWN.
COME ON, IS IT ALL THERE? COME ON. SO SO THE ENEMY SAYS, "HA, I'LL JUST SQUEEZE THEM."
I'LL JUST SQUEEZE THEM and prove they ain't surrendered. They ain't all ABOUT JESUS. SQUEEZE.
OH, NO. LOOK, WHEN YOU SQUEEZE AN ORANGE, you expect orange juice.
If it was apple, be weird. You squeeze an orange and drink apple juice, you'd spit it in the cup.
You'd call a friend and they'd say, "What were you drinking?" YOU TRY TO TELL YOUR FRIEND YOU JUST DID
AN ORANGE ON A BIG OLD Pope Pampered Chef, that ridgy thing we have at home. It's round, an orange fits right on
there. Then they have a slot, a door. It's the pulp door.
Apple. Wouldn't it be weird? Why isn't it weird when you squeeze a
Christian and get everything but Christ? The enemies learned if I squeeze them, I'll find out where they're really
rooted, what they really understand. Where they're really motivated. I'll find out if they're surrendered or if
they're just in this for heaven or just in this for blessing or just in this for protection.
And if they think their shield and protection has been lifted, they'll wonder why, they'll get insecure, and
instead of seeing me, they'll look straight to him and wonder why he's Do you ever hear a Christian say, "Well,
I thought you loved me." See, if you're trying to find God's love through life, you'll never see it. You
find God's love through Christ crucified. And then you get rooted and grounded in it, and faith works through
that truth. If you're trying to find love through circumstances, you'll be confused.
You'll wonder why God let this happen to me when I was four, and then why mom died when I was eight, and then how come
this happened when I was 12. And you'll say, "Well, you can't tell me God loves me. If he loved me, then how
come" and do you ever see that? I've bumped into that a lot cuz I'm a pastor guy.
And people unload and vent, and you're trying to minister to them, and they say, "Don't
give me that love thing." And they they give their whole life story. And then they're asking a question in
disdain and anger and frustration, and you can't answer their question. So, you have to ask them a question.
And that's all Jesus ever did when they asked a question from a wrong place. And you say, "Well, let me ask you a
question, ma'am or sir. I realize you have a a difficult story. It's more than I can
fathom. That's an intense story. I need to ask you a question. If God didn't love you,
then why did he send his son while you were yet a sinner, and why did he put him on a cross?
Don't try to find God's love through this story. Find God's love through this story and
then you can start to discern this one and realize we're in a war and it's not with him. He's good and he gave his son.
And you just try to get people cuz it's amazing how quick he's accused. How quick people turn on God cuz they've
never actually been for him. They're just needing him. So, if it doesn't work out, they're
against him. That's right. Well, I'll try God for a season. Just stop. Who taught you that theology?
Well, you don't want to just try God. No, no, no. Give what was never yours back to him,
life. Well, it's my life. Never was your life. Never from the beginning was it your
life. It became your life when Adam got separated from God and you were born
into Adam and you must be born again. Unfortunately, we turned that into a theological prayer that takes me to a
destination when I die instead of intimacy and relationship with a God that's real.
And that's what we teach. And if you die tonight and don't know where you're going, pray this prayer and you got
thousands of people praying this prayer cuz they don't want to go to hell if it's real.
And I'm not saying nobody ever prayed that prayer from sincerity, but why is that our altar call?
Why is heaven our goal instead of heaven in us and getting back to the Father and knowing him? Eternal life's knowing him.
Why are we preaching a destination instead of a relationship and getting back to the Father?
That perseverance thing brings character. Why? Cuz you're for real.
And if you'll submit to God and resist the devil, he's going to flee anyway. So, he's not going to let him keep
taking cheap shots. Pass the test. Walk through things with endurance. Run this race with
Torrance and prove and reveal that you're not fly-by-night and you're not in this for you, you're in this for his
great name and the sake of others. And then every time Satan touches you, he thinks he can break you cuz he's used
to people. He's been breaking people for generations.
He is not impressed with our confessions. Right?
So when he comes at you, Walter, he is sure he can break you. But guess what he runs the risk of?
Making you. If you're a believer. You see?
Cuz every time he touches you, he's making a draw on truth and you're going to manifest Christ.
And you go submit and you're submitting as you're resisting. And all of a sudden you become more
of a revelation of God in your adversity than if you didn't have it in the first place.
Now, how can you stop that kind of wisdom if men just keep believing? I got curse words in my head when I was
3 months old in the Lord. I had deliverance ministries say, "Well, you should have came to us. We could
have got you free." I said I wasn't bound. I was just hearing voices in my head
that were They weren't internal. I wasn't possessed. They were just implying that I was thinking it.
So that I'd read blaspheming the Holy Spirit and young Christian hungry and think that I committed some unpardonable
sin and then this dark feeling would come over me. Oh, people live in that stuff and they
live by feelings and they're trying to get ministry to feel different instead of believe right.
And we spent countless hours ministering to flashbacks, memories, impressions, and feelings trying to get people to
feel different instead of see different. Cuz I sat on my bed and said, "Lord, I don't feel this way about you." And I
was crying, and those phrases were vulgar. And he said, "I know you don't." I heard
it in my heart, and that was a relief. And I said, "What do you want me to do?" And I thought I heard the Lord chuckle.
You can make fun of that if you want, but I thought I heard the Lord chuckle and say, "What do you do?"
Meaning, you don't do anything. Listen, every time you hear them voices, separate yourself from the voices and
from your heart, and tell me how you feel about me. He wasn't one bit interested in the
voices stopping. He was interested in me not yielding to them or believing them. That's right.
We think when the voices go away, we have victory. No, when you don't believe them, you have victory.
Well, I just want the devil to stop lying to me. Well, you just called him a liar, so if he's saying you'll never be
nothing and he's a liar, you must going to be something. So, every time you hear you're going to
be nothing, you probably all lift your hands and throw a fit of worship and thank God you're going to be something.
Well, I keep hearing my life ain't changing. Do you believe that? I don't want to believe that. So, lift your
hands and thank God he's transforming your life. Keep filling your heart with the word and go after God. Why would you
let a negative thing stop you? Those voices raged in me. I'm talking for days and weeks. They would come, and
every time they'd come, when I say rage, very aware of them, yada yada yada yada yada. And And nobody knew it was
happening. I would smile real big. I worked a lot. I was 10-hour days shifts back then. And And then things
And I'd be like, "Holy Spirit, I love you so much." Nobody knew the vulgar thing that was
going on in my mind. "Holy Spirit, I love you so much. You're my best friend."
"Oh my goodness, you reveal Christ to me. You bring him glory through my life. You teach me all things and show me
things to come. You're the best." Yack yack yack yack. "Holy Spirit, I so love you."
Now, I can't tell you when those voices went away. I was so here. I can't tell you. I can't
give you a point in time, but it was way months later. Months. Yep, the voices weren't the problem. Believing them
would be the problem. So, about 6 months in, 9 months saved in the Lord,
I just realized they were gone, and even when you think about them, they weren't there.
You get what I'm saying? And all of a sudden it hit me. Guess what I had at 9 months old in the Lord?
An intimate awareness and relationship with Holy Spirit that I don't believe I'd even had close to if it wasn't for
the voices. So, how do you stop that kind of wisdom? We think we have a problem when the
whole time we have an answer. And we get problem driven instead of answer conscious.
So, how did those voices why were they a detriment to me? I sat in a teaching on the gifts of the
Holy Spirit when I was 9 months saved, and they gave me an assignment to believe to be used in one of these nine
gifts in Corinthians, and I realized I had flowed in every single gift listed, and I wasn't a year old. I was already
guest speaking in churches at 9 months old in the Lord, and had a whole testimony of crazy
beautiful things I had witnessed in my life, and the whole time I was hearing curse
words in my head, but not believing them. Letting my love go this way, and he just
revealed himself. And now I'm flowing in gifts, and God's moving. Why? Because this thing was trying to break me,
but it ran the risk of making me if I'm a believer. Do you get it?
So, I don't know. That's probably for a bunch of us. Stop living out of your feelings,
emotions, memories, and mindsets. Get the word and wrap the word around that thing.
Be answer conscious for the rest of your life. The devil's a liar. Whatever he's
saying, there's no truth in him. If he's saying you'll never be nothing, you have a lot of hope.
If he's saying you ain't going to make it, you already made it. You're already there.
Just lift your hands and thank God you're home. You see what I'm saying?
If he says, "Oh, your life ain't changing. You've been saved how long? There's no real change. It's just all
emotion." Who's ever heard stuff like that? Who's ever been just driving in the car,
minding their own business and God or in life and all of a sudden a flashback comes or something you wish you could
forget that you did just pop up out of nowhere? For no apparent reason, it's just there
and you relive something that you wish you could forget. Anybody know what I'm talking about?
But what happens is then that feeling comes and that defiled and that and that reliving it again and no, no, no. Soon
as that happens, keep your hand on it. If you're driving, keep your hand on the wheel and watch the road.
Okay, you're not going to say, "Well, Pastor Dan told me to worship God." "Officer, this man said take your hands
and raise them high." No. Keep your hand on the wheel. And watch the road and just start
celebrating and worshipping God for a life that's changed and the truth that's making you free. So, every time that
stuff comes, you counter with the truth. It's the weapon of your warfare. You bring every thought that rises above the
knowledge of God into captivity and hold it obedient according to Christ. Are you with me? You don't need prayer
in that situation. You need truth. We are a prayer crazed kind of people sometimes. We think everything is prayer
that pray pray pray pray for this. Prayer has its place, it's precious and it's powerful. Don't misunderstand what
I'm saying, but a lot of things we're asking prayer for aren't prayer issues at all, they're truth issues.
Hey, I need prayer. Well, what do you mean? What do you Well, but but I said, "Do you really need prayer?
I can hear when you're saying this that you actually think this and you believe this. Yeah, but is that true? No. After
a while they go, "Well, I didn't need prayer at all, did I?" No, you just need to rethink some things.
That's why people keep needing prayer cuz they're not changing what they believe.
Are you hearing me? Okay. Wow.
The core message is that true transformation comes from changing your beliefs about yourself and God, not from trying harder or seeking emotional experiences. It emphasizes that many Christians live defeated because they see themselves as unworthy, while God sees them as cleansed and valuable through Jesus' sacrifice. By renewing your mind with this truth, you can shift from troubleshooting problems to walking in the victory Christ already won.
Your identity in Christ directly impacts your behavior and outcomes because 'you become what you believe.' If you don't believe you're clean, you'll never live clean, making internal beliefs dictate your external life. Transformation is a work of grace through mind renewal, not self-discipline, so embracing your cleansed, valuable identity helps you live victoriously rather than in defeat.
The cross reveals your immense value, purpose, and potential, not just your sin. When you pay a high price for something, you believe it's worth that amount, and God proved your worth by paying the highest price—His Son. Thus, the gospel reveals your priceless identity, contrasting with religion that focuses on unworthiness.
You can settle your beliefs by letting your heart be established in faith, not letting circumstances challenge what God's Word says. Like the heroes in Hebrews 11, hold onto truth even when life doesn't shift, and find your identity in a relational knowledge of God, not just intellectual knowledge about Him. This anchor helps you stay grounded in your divine identity.
The purpose of grace is to enable you to manifest God's glory—any manifested attribute of God—in your life. According to Romans 5:1-3, you have access to grace to stand in hope of God's glory, which means making God seen and known through your actions, especially in difficulty. This goes beyond just getting needs met; it's about revealing Christ's character through your transformed life.
The video compares the cross to a demonstration of value because the high price paid (Jesus' life) shows that God sees you as priceless, not just forgiven. This perspective shifts your identity from unworthiness to immense worth, empowering you to live in victory rather than constantly feeling defeated. It reframes the cross as a declaration of your potential and purpose, not just a transaction for sin.
The video suggests starting by embracing God's plans and aligning your beliefs with His truth, as further explored in resources like 'How to Embrace God’s Plans and Transform Your Life in the New Year.' It also recommends settling what you believe in faith, focusing on your identity as cleansed and valuable, and using grace to manifest God's glory in daily life. This process involves consistent renewal of your thoughts based on biblical truth.
