Key takeaway: Custom commands for Claude code should be stored in
.claude/commands/within the repository to ensure they are version-controlled and available to all developers automatically.
piece of code and welcome to this video. Now in this video, this video is going to be very special because I want to
discuss about one more really amazing and this is going to be very popular you know, AI certification and
this is from none other than Anthropic AI or Claude, whatever you want to call it.
And this is Claude certified architect guys and it has been recently launched. And um
it has some common gotchas that you need to be keeping in mind. Um What do I mean by common gotchas is just
some uh things that you need to keep in mind
before appearing for this particular exam. First of all, the exam is exclusive for Anthropic partners.
Okay? It just means that it is not open to individual you know, um
subscribers or people. It is for Anthropic partners. For example, you are working at a company
who is a partner to Anthropic and you're employed there, so you will be able to give this exam
and giving this exam also comes in, you know, a little bit of a twist.
So, first of all, it is free for early access. So, first of all, to just give the to be eligible for this exam, you
must be a employee at a partner company of Anthropic. Okay? And to be eligible to give this exam for
free on top of that, you must be one of the first 5,000 partner company employees.
After that, you would be charged $99. But the thing is that if you are a part of an employee of a partner company, I
am 100% sure that that partner company is going to you know, sponsor your certification
attempt. Right? So, you don't have to worry about it. I guess most of the companies do
that. It was true in terms of AWS certifications. I guess now that it's the time of AI,
as the certification is from Claude or Anthropic, this is going to be sponsored. If you are at that partner
company, I think so. Okay? Just my opinion. It's a 120-minute proctored exam and you would get your results in
almost 2 days, which is fine. And this is your um syllabus. Agentic architecture and
orchestration. Recently, I've been making a lot of videos on agentic architecture and Oscar orchestration,
but yeah, this covers a little bit more in depth, I guess. But yeah, those videos also you you can
refer to understand AI agentic architecture and all those things. Tool design and MCP integration. Very, very
important, guys. And I have been explaining this in a lot of my recent videos how MCP
is the like, you know, really amazing if you have a AI you know, application or AI-based
architecture, MCPs are the way to go. Right? It's not going to replace APIs or all those things, but yeah, it is the
new norms when you are dealing with AI-based applications. That that also I have covered in one of my videos. Claude
code configuration workflows. Very, very important. You know,
how do you configure Claude MD hierarchies and all those questions you have to answer of the all of those
things and you know, uh using um you know, um Claude or any kind of coding assistant
or any kind of a platform is not just typing a one-line thing, right? It is all about prompt engineering,
um learning about the nitty-gritties of what that particular uh you know, um
thing offers, right? Um to be as efficient as possible while
saving costs. And to do all that, you need to understand. For example, in terms of
Claude, have you used custom skills? Have you used the Claude MD file? If you're using client, have you used the
client rules file? These are all the questions you should ask yourself before spending an extra penny.
So, yeah. Penny for a thought? Please keep that in mind. Next comes prompt engineering and
structured output. Prompt engineering is like the bread and butter of AI developers and AI engineering. Right?
Context manageability and reliability. Preserve critical information across long interactions. So, basically, how do
you manage proper context? For example, a question may come, while using Claude code, what is the
predefined skill or the command to compact your conversations or to preserve your conversation?
Because, you would run out of that you know, token context window. How do you
um you know, try to avoid that? You can use the {slash} compact command, guys. That will
compact your conversation and keep the context of your conversation intact even though you're running out of context
because, you know, it is that that command will summarize whatever you have discussed with Claude
and it will keep kind of a summary in Claude. So, that session in that session, wherever you are writing the
code or you know, conversing with the particular uh for example, at Anthropic model, it will be preserved because, you
know, it is creating a summary whenever you are running that {dot} {slash} compact command, right? So, context
management and reliability um you know, reliability. This is just an example that I just gave of the {slash} compact
command, right? And I've covered all that in my recent video of my Claude code masterclass, so you can go and have
a look. Now, to get a better um
view of what you're getting in the exam, you can just download the exam guide. I just downloaded it. I was just going
through it. You know, it's just mentioned a little bit in depth of what you're going to get
in the exam. You know, more or less, it's the same whatever I had discussed,
but you know, you need to have some kind of scenario knowledge or hands-on implementation knowledge.
So, it has some sample questions as well. Okay? So, you can just go through it.
So, see, just randomly I offered in this command, it is telling that So, random randomly I just um
came to this particular question and it is asking that you want to create a custom {slash} review {slash} command
that runs your team's standard code review checklist. The command should be available to every developer when they
clone or pull the repository. Where should you create this command file?
So, the you know, the correct answer This is this is just the answer section. I'm
just I'm just reading through it. Project-scoped custom {slash} command should be stored in the {dot} Claude
{slash} commands directory within the repository. These commands are version controlled and automatically
available to the developers when they clone or pull the repo. So,
the skills that you're going to use in Claude, the custom skills that you're going to create and this is a example of
a custom skill in Claude, right? And it also includes the availability of that particular
custom skill and it says that it should be available to all the developer when they clone or pull the repository. So,
you need to have that information in your mind, okay? This is how I should create the custom skill.
And that's how you're going to, you know, increase your knowledge
in Claude code and whatnot, right? And it's very, very important to understand all of these concepts. If you guys want
me to make a course on this particular Claude certified architect, it's Claude certified architect, right?
Yeah. You can just uh put your comments in the chat that,
"Okay, we need a course." And I'll start preparing for it. It might take some time, but yeah, I'm going to give you
the best of the resources that is there for this particular exam and I'll try to explain the concepts as
easily as possible. Okay? So, that is what I what I wanted to discuss. And one thing, if you are a
partner, you know, working as an employee at a partner company of Anthropic, you can just register for the
exam using your official mail ID and that should work out. Okay?
Okay, guys. So, that was all about this particular video. Thank you for
uh watching this video. Have a nice day. Take care. Ta-ta. Bye-bye.
Yes, the exam is exclusively for employees of companies that are official Anthropic partners. The first 5,000 eligible employees can take it for free; after that, the fee is $99 (often sponsored by employers). The exam is 120 minutes, proctored, and results arrive within about two days.
The exam covers designing AI agent systems—including multi-agent workflows, task delegation, and orchestration patterns—as well as tool design and Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration. It also tests Claude Code configuration (custom slash commands, command files), prompt engineering for structured outputs, and context manageability strategies like the /compact command.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a core exam topic that enables seamless integration of tools with AI models. It complements traditional APIs and is essential for building modern AI applications. The exam expects you to understand how to design tools using MCP and how it fits into agentic architectures.
Claude Code configuration is a major exam area. You should know how to set up project-level rules using the Claude MD hierarchy, create custom slash commands (e.g., /review for code review), and store command files in the .claude/commands/ directory. These files are version-controlled and automatically available to all developers who clone the repository.
The exam focuses on designing prompts that yield reliable, structured responses, a foundational skill for AI developers. Hands-on practice with prompt engineering for different scenarios (e.g., tool calls, structured output) is essential to pass the test questions.
To prepare, download the official exam guide for the detailed syllabus and sample questions. Focus on hands-on implementation knowledge: practice with Claude Code, custom skills, MCP, and agentic workflows. Review relevant masterclass videos on these topics to reinforce practical understanding.
