how to start reselling on Vintage in 2025 is the question on everyone's lips right now and if you're looking to get
into it you are in the right place because this video is a complete and ultimate beginner's guide on how to
start reselling on Vintage now firstly why reselling why is it so popular well people are kind of bored like working in
the 9 to5 Jobs Plus people looking for side hustles because no one can make enough money from their 9o FS therefore
people turn to things like reselling because it's quite fun you can get good money and ultimately you're Your Own
Boss you get a lot of good Freedom now who am I and why should you trust me well my name is Jack also known as
culture force on the internet which sounds quite sad saying it out loud I've been reselling for about 10 years I make
content every single day around the topic I have quite a few followers on other platforms as well and I own a
company called Kicks Force where we sell pre-loved and brand new Street wearing sneakers every single day so this is how
the guide is going to work I've broken reselling down into a couple of segments with the buying phase where we talk
about how you can get stock to make money the selling phase on how to actually sell the stock to make money
legit check in because you need to make sure everything you're selling is authentic how to ship your items because
however straightforward it may sound it can be a little bit tricky for a first timer and finally just some general tips
to round off but first things first the buying phase now I've gone into detail about buying in previous videos but I'm
going to quickly go over it again now now buying you have three different ways you can buy stock if you're a newb
Marketplace buying suppliers and thrifting let's start with marketplaces now marketplaces we're talking deop
Vinted Facebook Marketplace eBay those kind of places these are entities where sellers go and often get rid of old
stuff they don't want anymore what I mean by Marketplace buying is you go to Vintage you buy an item let's say you
buy a supreme t-shirt for £15 on Vintage you get it you legit check it you take some pictures of it you list it back up
on Vintage for £35 after fees you make 105 profit the main benefit of marketplace buying is that it's very
very safe you control what you get you control how much money you spend and ultimately that's what's really
important at the beginning so literally as soon as I open the app there's loads of stuff available here like the
recommended for you page is a massive crack I've spoke about that before but let's say I want to buy some Supreme so
I'm going to type in Supreme and then I'm going to filter by sort by and then newest listed and then I am literally
just going to browse you can go and filter by price if you're on a budget so for example if you want a supreme
t-shirt for 20 quid type in like 25 because you're going to shoot an offer and then you know you can just have a
quick browse but be careful cuz there is fakes like this is fake it's not real there a 20 Supreme t-shirt here there's
some holes on it and like it it defects and stuff so you got to be careful again keep that in mind when you're browsing
on Vintage just make sure to check all the pictures Supreme long sleeve t-shirt here for £5 looks good I literally got
on there and do something called Mass offering which is a kind of a technique on Marketplace is to get stock where you
just go through all these Brands all these items and just offer a bunch of kind of lower prices it's called
lowballing a little bit as long as you're giving like sensible offers it's not really lowballing another quick tip
and hack when buying from marketplaces is that typically the weekends are the best time to buy steals now I spoke
about this in my recent vintage buying Marketplace video but it's genuinely no joke that weekends and bank holidays are
so much better to get Steals and there's so many more available as well for example Sundays is definitely the best
time of week to be buying on Vinted and places like deot Vinted eBay whatever because there's going to be so many more
items listed therefore more opportunity for steals now the reason there's more items listed it's pretty simple it's the
same as what I said earlier it's literally because people are trying to get rid of their old stuff and that's
the stuff you're targeting trying to buy and sell it on for money and they're just flipping it and they don't always
know the true market value they don't really care how much they get for it they just want to get rid of the item
but that's why you come in and you hustle them and you go and get a good item for under Market because they don't
know the true value of it but you do that is where your value comes in you buy up you flip it on for more money and
a trick when you're actually negotiating on these marketplaces everyone always asks me how do you get the best price
what the answer is people just be genuinely nice if my offer gets declined I always like to go back to them and say
look Hi man I'm going to be completely honest I have to pay a bias fee here with vintage so I end up having to pay a
little bit more money so is there any way you can give me a little bit of a discount and that's just the genuine
truth this isn't hard negotiating you negotiating with people online who are just trying to get rid of stuff so
they're more likely to sell to you if you're just genuinely being polite and nice back to them it honestly pays and
profits to just be a nice person and the final tip about Marketplace buying be really really careful right because
vintage especially have a bit of a dodgy policy where you only have 48 hours to report any issues with the item so for
example if the postman leaves an item outside your front door but you're away you get back home a couple of days later
it doesn't matter those 48 hours are up and then you can no longer open the claim on Vintage which is really bad
doesn't matter if they've sent you a block of cheese in there when you order Ralph Lauren jumper it doesn't matter
you don't get your money back Vint support is not great I'm not going to lie and that goes the same for fakes or
wrong items or faults on anything you buy if a seller is trying to finesse you and he don't open a claim in the first
48 Hours it doesn't matter your money is gone as soon as the item lands at your door check it straight away make sure
it's legit make sure it's as described and if it isn't open a claim instantly people next up we have suppliers now
suppliers we're talking wholesalers you've probably seen videos online of people opening these massive boxes and
getting these crazy crazy prices and pieces well do not be fooled by these great vide wholesalers and suppliers can
be absolutely amazing and when you get to a company size like mine is or even a little bit smaller you probably do need
to start finding supplies because you need more stock to sell to make more money and also you have more money to
spend but if you're just starting out do not go into Google and do what most people do where they look at Ralph
Lauren wholesale and spend £500 600 on the first thing that pops up that is what you call buying blind and that is
where you basically it's just a mystery box of Ralph Lauren stuff or or whatever brand it may be or wholesale the chance
of you getting something good is so so so low and you're probably going to end up losing money and finally we have
thrifting and charity shopping now thrifting in the US is massive because you have these huge thrift stores but in
the UK we have something called charity shops and car boot sales which are pretty good as well I would probably say
charity shops in the UK are a little bit saturated they're definitely not as good as they used to be everyone kind of
knows about them now and it is really hard to find steals in there but again the main positive about charity shops
they are low ticket it's going to cost you very little money is very low risk and again a great place to start even if
it's going to be a little bit slower getting stuck so overall if you're just getting into reselling and especially
vintage reselling try and buy marketplaces and do Marketplace flipping that is what I would really recommend
now a couple of General buying tips away from these like free subcategories I had a question I always get asked is how do
you know the value of an item and how do you know if it's worth buying to resell for profit well a big trick that
everyone in the game uses is they use the eBay sold filter you head over to eBay you type in the item you're looking
at you go down to filter and you click sold and completed items and then it allows you to see prices of previous
sold items so that is legit and physical market value so you can work out a market value that way and basically work
out oh you can probably sell it for that amount and It ultimately allows you to figure out if that item is worth buying
a few brands that have made me profit over the years that you might want to focus on Stussy Supreme Palace Gucci RF
Lauren and stone Island now buying is over let's get on to selling just as important as buying now how to sell on
Vintage depop and eBay and how to actually get sales is a very very big question and it comes down to a few
things photos pricing and the description of your items if you take anything from this entire video please
take the good photos art absolutely essential I'm going to tell you this once and quite quick this is how you get
a good photo for Vinted or depop or wherever you want steam or iron your item it takes a little bit of effort but
it's very very worth it you then want to put it through a lint roller you can get Ikea lint rollers or Amazon lint rollers
for like5 to10 they're very very cheap very worth it then you want to do a flat lay which is where you lay the item flat
on the floor you don't need a fancy backdrop you just need a white clean light or some natural daylight run that
item through photo room it crops out the background you can put a nice white background on it then go to your photos
increase in the exposure the brightness get rid of the shadows and then boom you have a beautiful picture which is 10
times better than everyone else's on Vinted and it makes your item look really really professional you probably
want to take four or five pictures one of the front one of the back one of any detailing like graphics and then a
couple of pictures of the tag to show it's 100% authentic now pricing you want to be really competitive with your
pricing and you want to sell items fast so do what I mentioned about the eBay method the eBay sold method find that
market value if you're just starting out you don't want to make crazy profit margins you want to make 20% profit
margin and you want to sell quick and then reinvest that money straight away when you're just getting into reselling
you don't want to sit around on items for ages don't listen to anyone telling you to hold items just flip it quick
Flip Flip Flip Flip Flip reinvest all the time it's just a constant Relentless cycle and that's ultimately how you're
going to learn and it's is going to give you more money to make your reselling business better you also want to do
something called cross listing this is where you list on every single platform possible everyone always says where's
the best platform to sell I always say sell freaking everywhere vintage deot eBay list on every single platform this
is called cross listing but obviously as soon as something sells make sure to take it off all the platform so you need
to be on it and make sure you Market is sold so you don't double sell and then you get in a bit of trouble for
description really really simple people on Vinted in depop always spam descriptions with loads of tags and
keywords that is bollocks do not do that if you have an item let's take this this is a terrible example but let's take
this bear brick this is a minions Chrome bear brick it's let's say it's brand new the description of the item listing
should literally read brand new minions be brick 400% the description brand new condition comes with box smoke free home
1 to two day shipping time something like that really really simple do not go and spam with loads of relevant tags
Supreme Cortez Stone Island all these funky brand names to get it boosted in the search terrible idea vintage deot
they don't like it terrible idea don't do it just be very straight up simple that is what's going to rank your item
highest in the algorithm and get you more sales next up how to ship item how do you actually get your item from your
Vinted account on your store to someone else's front now in terms of shipping as a seller you can choose what corer you
use so if you head over to your settings you can actually see all the possible delivery companies this is what your
buyer can choose from when they're checking out on an item from your Vinted account or your Vinted store you're not
going to have all of these really really close to you so just I would probably try and pick like every Royal Male and
maybe Yodo as well I don't know if they're that great but Royal maale and every seems to be pretty standard one
thing that is worth mentioning is do you need a label printer well later down the line when you're selling a lot of items
of buying a label printer is definitely worth while buy a thermal label printer this is the one we use and it's pretty
good it cost us about 7080 quid I think but again it's not necessary if you're just starting out a few tips about
shipping always wrap your items nicely you can get packaging bags from eBay and Amazon they're pretty cheap when you are
packaging items please fold the items carefully people don't just scr shove them in there that's what I used to do
about 10 years ago us just get a t-shirt whack them in the bag and fold the bag up and that was it I didn't used to fold
them in properly fold them take your time make it look nice neat the buy will always appreciate that if you're really
trying to be H it we have like nice smelling spray every item gets a spray before being packaged so when the buyer
opens it it smells nice not essential whatsoever but just like a nice touch I guess once you get into it probably
print off some like company cards put them inside the package try and get some return customers and it makes you look
professional people love that next up we have legit checking super super super crucial people you do not want to sell
any fake items it happens time to time everyone gets burnt by it and that's fair enough it happens to all sellers
however you want to do your absolute most to make sure you're not selling fake Goods one because it's unethical
two you will get banned and three is just not a very good thing to do which is the same as unethical so two points
really you do not need to be a master legit checking to make sure you're just selling authentic Goods you do need to
check every item that comes in you need to make sure you're looking at things like wash tags the stitching how does
the print feel on the graphic if these feel cheap look tacky the tag doesn't look right the font's weird the text is
weird there's incorrect spelling mistakes on the tag it's going to be fake as a red flag however that comes
with time it takes a lot of practice to understand how to legit check a certain brand because even if you're checking
the same brand all the time their tags change over eras and periods of time so it's pretty difficult what I recommend
doing is doing some subreddits on Reddit and Facebook groups also very very good if you were really really into it like
we are I probably recommend using some apps check check legit checking apps you can find them on the App Store you have
to pay like 3 or4 pound per check but they're pretty good most of the time and they give you a receipt so you can
physically prove you've checked the item if someone ever asks and finally some general tips on Vinted reselling as a
beginner it's pretty generic guys and I'm going to sound really cliche and cringe probably a bit like a parent here
but do not rush it takes a lot of time to understand the market success doesn't come overnight also this is not a
getrich quick scheme it's kind of promoted online that it's some kind of cheat code to making a million pound a
year it's not it's very very tough It's a normal job it's a bit more freeing than a normal job and you can make more
money than a normal job if you're lucky but you can also make less money because it's really hard work and it's
competitive so keep that in mind it's not a walk in the park if you make 10 20 quid profit on your first few items
don't go and spend it at the pub don't go and spend it on booze don't go and flex it everywhere not you can Flex
reinvest it in your next item and let the cycle continue and people thank you very very much that pretty much sums it
up I hope that helps kind of an overall ultimate vintage reselling guides especially very good for beginners I
hope that helps people any questions in the comments let me know make sure to subscribe and let me know what other
Vinted and reselling content you want to see and as always people thank you very much for the support and I will see you
in the next one
