The Core Philosophy: You Are the Hero of Your Own Story
The central argument is that nothing can hold you down if you become a "winner" or a "hero." This status is achieved not by external circumstances, but by taking action first and refusing to be mentally defeated. The speaker argues that the masculine essence is the ability to resist and fight, regardless of the odds or oppressive forces, drawing on historical figures like Napoleon and Genghis Khan as archetypes.
- Action is the Antidote: Inaction allows external forces or other people to "break your spirit." Moving first prevents you from being pinned down by life's challenges.
- Reframe Reality: The speaker rejects a victim mentality. What feminist groups or others claim "doesn't matter" if you embody the hero archetype. Your internal reality dictates your external success.
- The Power of Delusion: There is an explicit argument for creating a personal truth that makes you more powerful and competitive, even if it seems irrational to others. The goal is to win, not to be objectively correct. Learn more about this concept in Master Your Mind: The Ultimate Guide to Mental Toughness and Winning.
The Single Point of Control: Your Mind
The most critical lesson is that your own mind is the only thing you can truly control. If you cannot master your mind, you are a victim of circumstance, a "feather in the wind" of life, completely at the mercy of external events and your own negative thoughts.
The Ultimate Betrayal: Self-Sabotage
The speaker claims that the majority of your failures are not caused by enemies or bad luck, but by your own mind betraying you. This self-betrayal manifests in many common forms:
- Self-Doubt: Questioning your ability before you even start.
- Procrastination & Laziness: Your mind tricking you into avoiding necessary work.
- Seeking Comfort in Excuses: Accepting failure because you didn't try your best.
- Anxiety & Panic: Allowing a self-created thought to spiral out of control and degrade your life.
How to Cure Your Brain
The speaker proposes a two-step process for regaining control, which he calls "blinking and curing your brain."
- Identify the Pattern: Recognize when you are not appreciating what you have, are unable to focus, or cannot dedicate yourself to a task you dislike.
- Reject the Weakness: When a negative thought attempts to sabotage you, you should feel "disgusted" by it. Your mind must be a 100% ally, not a saboteur.
"There are enough people in that opposing trench trying to destroy you. The idea of you not having every single part of you on your own side is truthfully sad."
The Seven Pillars of the Competitive Mindset
This framework is built on adopting a mindset optimized for winning in a hyper-competitive world.
1. Irrational Self-Belief
- You must refuse to accept any past failures as part of your identity.
- Action: Rewrite your memory. Delete memories of failure. Tell yourself, "Every time I try, I win." Be annoyingly persistent in this belief.
- The Goal: Unlock unlimited attempts. Most people quit due to a fear of repeating past failures; you must refuse to be defined by them. For more on this approach, read Unlocking Inner Strength: Lessons from David Goggins on Mindset and Willpower.
2. Reject Depression as a Disease
This is one of the most controversial points but is critical to the framework. The speaker argues that depression is a belief system you adopt, not a disease you have.
- Analogy: Belief in depression is the same as belief in ghosts. One person in a "haunted" house (a bad situation) will be terrified, the other will sleep soundly. It is the belief that punishes you, not the event itself.
- Choice: Believing you have no choice removes your ability to change. Believing you chose to feel a certain way empowers you to choose to feel different.
- Outcome: Do not adopt the thinking of people who are sad or have ruined lives if you want a successful life.
3. Embrace Suffering and Pain
The masculine journey is defined by pain and suffering. This is not a bug; it is a feature of becoming a good man.
- Stoicism: Your actions must be independent of your feelings. Whether you wake up happy or sad, you must do the work.
- Hyper-Competition: You are competing against all other men for limited resources (women, money, status). The competitor who performs regardless of feeling will always beat the one who only competes when they feel like it.
4. Controlled Anger as Fuel
While sadness and moping are useless, controlled anger is a powerful tool.
- Analogy: Anger is like water behind a dam. It can be destructive if uncontrolled, but if channeled through a turbine, it powers a town.
- Use: Use frustration to fuel 36-hour work sessions and achieve massive goals.
5. Reject Happiness as a Goal
Happiness is for women and children. Men should not optimize for happiness, as it leads to hedonistic, narcissistic, and unproductive behavior.
- Reality: A man will be stressed or annoyed 99% of the time. You must choose between the stress of being a "somebody" or the stress of being a "nobody."
6. Physical Strength as a Proxy for Discipline
A person's physical state is a direct broadcast of their mental discipline.
- What a Strong Body Says: It communicates dedication, the ability to push past quitting points, self-respect, and a protective attitude toward one's reputation.
- What a Weak Body Says: It broadcasts a lack of dedication, a fear of difficulty, and a tendency to quit when things get hard.
7. The Stubbornness to be the Last Man Standing
In the end, winning is not about talent or luck. It’s about insane persistence.
- The Final Outcome: A million people may start the race, but after 10 years, only one man is still showing up. The award goes to the only guy who is still there.
- Method: "Via brutal persistence, via brutal stubbornness, you can win." This aligns with the principles in Unlocking Success: The Power of a Growth Mindset Explained.
Nothing can hold you down IF YOU'RE A [ __ ] WINNER. IF YOU TAKE ACTION AND YOU MOVE FIRST, NOTHING CAN PIN YOU
DOWN. NOTHING. YOU'RE ALLOWING THEM TO BEAT YOU. THEY ARE BREAKING YOUR SPIRIT. THEY ARE MAKING YOU QUIT. THEY'RE MAKING
YOU GIVE UP. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT THEY TELL WOMEN. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT FEMINIST [ __ ] IT DOESN'T MATTER.
NONE OF IT MATTERS IF YOU'RE A [ __ ] HERO. IF YOU'RE A HERO, YOU CAN RESIST. THAT'S
THE POINT. THAT'S THE MASCULINE ESSENCE. The history books are read about MEN LIKE ME, LIKE NAPOLEON, like Genghis
[ __ ] Khan, WHO SAID, "NO. WE ARE GOING TO FIGHT." WHY DOESN'T HE QUIT LIKE I DID? WHY DOESN'T HE GIVE UP LIKE
I DID? WHY DON'T HIS SETBACKS BOTHER HIM LIKE THEY BOTHER ME? WHY IS HE SO CONFIDENT? WHY DOESN'T HE CARE?
WE'RE TRYING TO TAKE THIS MAN DOWN. HE DOESN'T GIVE A [ __ ] Is he mental?
Maybe. But he's winning. If you cannot control your own mind, then you are just a
feather in the wind of life, because your own mind is the only thing you can control. You can't control the weather.
You can't control other people. You can't even control whether your heart stops beating. You might have a heart
attack tomorrow. You can't control anything besides what you think. If you cannot control your own mind, then you
go through life with zero control, zero influence. You can't control anything. You're just a feather in the wind
waiting for life to blow you from happy place to sad place to happy place to sad place, completely hoping on the gods to
be fortunate to you, because if any genuine discomfort comes your way, you're [ __ ]
It is trained, like everything else in life. It is trained. So, if you find yourself not appreciating what you have
until it's gone, then you must blink and cure your brain. If you find yourself unable to focus or concentrate on tasks,
you must blink and cure your brain. If you find yourself unable to go and dedicate yourself to something you don't
want to do, you must blink and cure your brain. There are people out there which are so mentally weak,
they will think of a thought and that thought will destroy them. They will have a thought that they
create in their own mind, themselves. It's in their head. And instead of turning it off
>> [snorts] >> or fixing it, they will allow it to fester to the point where their body and
their life degrades. And they will be defeated by their own thought. Can you trust somebody who is that weak?
Your mind is your number one ally in all things. A lot of you have been sabotaged
internally by your own mind. Your own psyche is working against you. And I can tell by the questions you ask
me. You come to me and say, "Andrew, what do I do about the fact that I don't always
feel like working?" When you have negative thoughts that prevent you from being the best version of yourself,
you should understand that your mind is attempting to betray you. And you should feel disgusted because
you have enough enemies. There are enough people in that opposing trench trying to destroy you. If you're
watching this and listening to this right now, I promise you, if I were to give a button
to most humans on this planet, if I were to go up to an average man, 25-year-old man of average income anywhere in the
world and say, "If you press this button, this guy is going to die." And I'll show
a picture of you holding your dog, cuddling, being a nice little boy, whatever you're doing. I'll make you
look sweet and innocent. I'll say, "If you press this button, this guy dies, but you get $100 million."
You do understand that 99.9% of people will press that button, right? And they'll take that $100 million without
remorse. They won't really think about you very much. And if they do, they'll distract themselves with a Lamborghini
and with [ __ ] That's it. They won't care about you. There's enough people in the opposing trench who are prepared to
destroy you for self-interest. That the idea of you not having every single
part of you on your own side is truthfully sad. You need to be in a better position
than that. You cannot allow your own mind to betray you ever. It has to be 100% on side all of the time. Once your
mind is on side, once every part of your psyche is on your team, that's when you can go and look for other teammates. You
can expand your network of other people whose psyche is all 100% on their side and you have a unified outlook on the
world. Then you can go and get things done. But the idea of self-betrayal
is something most of you are struggling with and you didn't even realize. So as a thought experiment, we're going
to sit here and I want you to actually think about it. How many times have you doubt with yourself?
How many times have you didn't feel like doing something you knew you were supposed to do? How many times has your
mind tricked you into procrastination or being lazy? How many times has your mind convinced you that it was okay to fail
and lose even though you didn't try your best? How many times have you seek comfort in excuses? How many times have
you betrayed yourself? Don't worry about your enemies attempting to crush you. That's another
conversation. If you actually analyze most of your failures, you're going to see the majority of them come from
self-sabotage. And once you're in a position like me where you never betray yourself, where
your mind never lets you down, ever. Even in a Romanian jail cell, my mind didn't let me down. My mind knew exactly
what I had to do. I did not miss a single day's training. I did not lose my mind. I did not go
mental. I did not have a breakdown. I acted exactly as I as I was supposed to act. I was fully professional in all
things. I got as much work done as I could possibly do. I was extremely productive.
I used the experience for what it was. My mind never betrayed me. If you listen and look back on most of
your failures, you're going to see that it was your own mind that betrayed you. It wasn't your enemies that tricked you.
It wasn't your enemies that outmaneuvered you or outsmarted you. Most of you are not yet at high enough
echelon to even have enemies of caliber. You were simply self-betraying. And until you identify that pattern
and get yourself in the habit of ensuring that is impossible, then you're always going to lose against
people who fully believe in themselves. You know, one of the things that stupid people have that makes stupid people
quite successful sometimes is irrational self-belief. And the smarter you are, sometimes the
harder it is to irrationally believe in yourself. But if you're dumb enough, you can be arrogant enough to have this
irrational self-belief, and you will see some people be very successful and you say, "How is this idiot successful?"
Because they're so stupid that they don't consider the idea of failure. Their mind isn't advanced enough. They
are not cognitive enough to consider betraying their own being. They only see out sides. They don't self-reflect.
If you're intelligent enough to self-reflect, you need to do it so that you can come up with feedback so that
you can constantly improve. But be very aware, very aware of the trouble that can come
from a mind that's not 100% on your side. My mind is 100%
on my side in all ways. If I have to do something difficult, even if my body can't do it,
my mind believes I can do it all the time. And you'd be amazed how much of life,
even in the physical realm, is mental. If you believe you can run a marathon, you can run a marathon. If you don't
believe you can run a marathon, you can't run a marathon. Because a marathon is hard.
And by believing in it, by truly believing you can do it, then you will your body to a different level than if
you don't believe you can do it. It's the same with absolutely all things, including making money, including
October, including getting that [ __ ] including the gym, including dealing with mental struggle.
Anxiety is self-betrayal. Panic is self-betrayal. Procrastination is self-betrayal. Laziness is
self-betrayal. Lacking motivation is self-betrayal. All of these things are self-betrayal. Most of you, your largest
enemy on the planet today is yourself. You are the one who is destroying your own prospects, because you don't have
your own mind under control. And one of the things that's crazy about the world is,
your mind is one of the few things you can control. You can't control very much else.
You can only control your mind. It's the only thing you have control over. So, if you don't control it absolutely,
you're going through life with no control over anything. You don't control your own mind, which means by extension
you do not control your life, you do not control the weather, you do not control the politicians, you don't control
nothing. You're just an empty vessel going through life with zero control over anything. You can control, once
your mind's in check, your reaction and attitude to things. Why would you even let your own mind become your enemy?
Don't people understand that the entire world, the entire matrix is against you? If you can't control your own mind, what
chance do you have? Every single ounce of my body is on my side. My mind is my ally, all the way down to my feet, my
fingers, every single part of me is absolutely and utterly on the same team. We are a united front against the
enemies of freedom. How can I have my own mind betray me and tell me that I can't do something. I don't give a [ __ ]
if I decide to jump off this building. If I decide I'm not going to die, I am not going to die. My own mind will not
betray me. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I believe that I stand a better chance of survival if I believe I will survive.
But surely your mindset as a man, especially in the world today, should be the mindset which allows you to be most
competitive and win. >> Yeah. >> Forget truth. If I believe the sky is
green, but it doubles my net worth. I mean, is that true? >> Yeah.
>> me it's true. My net worth has doubled. You can You can say the sky is blue all day long. I'm saying it's green. My net
worth is doubled because of it. I have the result, the tangible result of it. What is true? Well, for me what is true
is what allows me to feel most powerful. That's what's true to me. When I look at scenarios or situations, I sit and say,
"Well, option A makes me feel weak and helpless, and option B makes me feel powerful. So, I believe B to be true."
>> Yeah, right. >> That's what I believe. >> Yeah.
>> You annoy the world by refusing to accept inside of your mind
any of your previous losses ever. And the reason this annoys people is cuz most people's identity is shaped by all
the times they have failed. They are depressed because they have failed. They are broke cuz when they
tried to start a business, they failed. They don't want to get in the cage and fight cuz they lost the one time they
tried. They don't want to go up to girls cuz the last girl rejected them. Most people's identity, most people's entire
personality, their worldview is based on all of their failures, and they take all of those failures and they try and learn
from them, but they end up thinking about them, and they just think about all of their constant loss.
The way you annoy people is by refusing to do that, because it makes them very jealous of you. Because reality is what
I decide it is inside of my mind. I decide reality inside of my mind. You don't get to tell me what reality is.
You don't get to tell me. I've never lost. I've never lost a game of Uno. I've
never lost a game of Smash Bros. I'm undefeated. Never lost. I beat you that one time. No, you
didn't. You never beat me. You will never beat me.
And this makes your enemies mad at you because they're jealous of you. And it also makes you have unlimited
attempts at the goal because you're not defined by your losses or setbacks. You can try again and again and again
when most people quit and they're jealous of how you keep trying and you don't care. Every girl says no to you,
doesn't matter. Every business fails, doesn't matter. Lose all your money, doesn't matter.
Who cares? Didn't happen. Never lost. Every girl wants me.
I'm going to keep trying businesses over and over and guess what? When you finally win, everyone talks
about your win. All the losses are then forgotten. You try 100 companies, you lose them all, then you become a
billionaire. Are you a winner or a loser? You're a winner.
All your enemies are mad, everyone's jealous. If you were to say to me, Andrew, you
have to do you have to complete this monumental task. You have to conquer the world.
I would say, okay, but I need a I need a emotional motivation to do that. I need to be unhappy having not completed the
task. You know, I need to be uncomfortable, right? If you're uncomfortable being out of shape, you'll
get in shape. If you're happy being out of shape, then you're just going to stay out of shape, right? So, if you feel a
degree of uncomfortableness inside of your mind, I think it's just your mind telling you that something about your
life needs to change. Yes. You need to get up and change something. Guys would say to me, I'm depressed
because I'm fat and I have no girlfriend. And I'd say, no. You have no girlfriend
and you're fat and that's why you're depressed. So, how are we going to say we have this disease which is cause and
effect? How are we going to have we have say we have this disease where there's
something wrong with you as a man, you have a disease because your life sucks. I don't I mean I don't think that's
true. I think that your life just sucks and you should change it. And another thing I also preach, and this is another
thing that's very important, I also think as a man because life as a man is pain and suffering. And when I say that
because you're never going to be a good man or good at being a man without pain and
suffering. You're going to have to go through a bunch of of [ __ ] and have a terrible life to become a good man.
I think you should embrace that and accept it. And I think that the the correct mental model for men to have is
a degree of stoicism and not to be too concerned with even how they feel. If I woke up today happy, if I woke up
today in happy, I would have done this interview with you. If I woke up today sad, I would have done this interview
with you. What's the difference? Why put so much importance on my emotion if certain
things must be done? I must work, I must train, I must see Tucker Carlson, I must resist the matrix.
I'VE GOT THINGS TO DO. So who So why are we going to sit around and talk about how I feel if it doesn't even affect how
I act? And as a man it shouldn't cuz there's too much to do.
And the the masculine world is hyper competitive. This is another thing most people don't understand. It's hyper
competitive out here. All the women want few men at the top. The Ferrari you you don't want a Ferrari
to drive fast. You want a Ferrari cuz other men want Ferrari and can't have one. It's hyper competitive. So if
you're competing against every other man for every dollar you make, every girl you see, the house you live in, the car
you drive, the life you live, you're not going to be able to compete with the person who performs regardless
of how they feel if you only compete when you feel like competing. Right? Cuz there's men like me out there
who will be sad every day and out compete you regardless. I don't care how I feel. I will still win.
And that's the kind of mindset you need to adopt. So I don't want a man come
Completely. Completely. So when men say, "Oh, but I don't I feel sad." Who cares?
The world doesn't care. All the men who are out here to destroy you and take girl don't care. So, why
are you why do you care? Like if the only the person who should care least is you. You're the only person who wakes up
every day who should have a genuine vested interest in improving your life. Nobody else wakes up and wants to
improve your life. Only you. So, if nobody else cares about how you feel, why do you care?
So, I my argument also for depression is you're depressed, fine. Have you trained today?
Well, I that doesn't change what you should do with your life, depressed or not. And I don't say this cuz I'm an
eternally happy person. I say this because I've experienced all ranges of human emotion. I was in a Romanian jail
cell with cockroaches crawling all over me as I slept. I never missed a day of training. I wouldn't say I was
particularly happy. Of my 365 days, I get to breathe 10 of them. The rest of
them are endless work and drowning. That's it. You know the difference between me and everyone else?
Difference between me and you. The difference between a winner and a loser is I'm not complaining about it. In
fact, I smile while it happens. I may pass out. I may die. I may drown. But, I'll smile on my way out. I'm not asking
to change the rules of the game. I understand the rules of the game very well. And life as a man is constant and
endless suffering. But, if you continue to show up time and time again, in the end, via brutal persistence
via brutal stubbornness, you can win. In the end, you can [ __ ] win if you show up when no one else will show up.
There's a million people and there's one win. That's it. And who does the one win end up in the hands of? The one win goes
to the man who's the last standing. When 999,999 other men have quit and they turn up
somewhere else. They all cower. They all give in. And when the win is due to be given out, when the award ceremony
shows, it turns out there's only one guy. You.
That's it. When everyone else has quit, when everyone else has given in, a million people are turning up every day,
10 years later there's one man who turns up, and it's time to give the award. It's not even a competition now. It's
not about how tall you are, it's not about how rich you are, it's not about how strong you are, it's not about how
well you've done, it's not about the fact you've never lost, it's about none of those things. It's about the fact
that they have to give out a win, AND YOU'RE THE ONLY [ __ ] GUY WHO SHOWED UP. ONLY YOU. YOU'RE THE ONLY ONE
STANDING THERE, who else can they give it to? >> The primary objective of my thoughts and
feelings and reality is to win. >> Yeah. >> The only reason my brain activates is to
win. It's not to feel happy. It's not on some garbage endless quest for what might be true, it's to win all
of the time. And if you're going to be that way, you're going to be prepared to come up
with certain thought patterns or certain recognitions of how the matrix operates, of how the simulation plays out, which
are perhaps very unpopular with other people. >> Mhm.
>> But I want to win. So I optimize for competitiveness and I opti- optimize for performance in all things,
which is very unpopular with a lot of people. Most people don't optimize for that. Most people optimize
for the worst thing possible. Do you know what it is? Do you know the worst possible mindset you can try and
optimize your life for? >> Go on. >> Happiness.
Happiness is for women and children. You're allowed to be happy as a woman, and you're allowed to be happy as a kid.
As a man, if you wake up and go, "I want to be happy today." you're going to do unimportant narcissistic hedonistic
garbage. You're either going to eat too much, drink too much, take drugs, sit around and play video games, smoke weed.
You're not going to achieve anything if you want to be happy. It's ultimately temporary, and you sit there and go, "I
want to be happy today. I want a happy day." You're not going to achieve anything. As a man, 99% of the time
you're going to be stressed or annoyed about something that's just happened, currently happening, or about to happen.
>> Mhm. >> That's life. We live constantly anxious. We have a lot of things to do.
>> Yeah, yeah. >> And you either suffer the consequence of the stress it requires to be a somebody,
or you suffer the consequence of having no stress because you're a [ __ ] nobody and you work at Starbucks, and
then you're a no one. There's no There's no escape the eternal suffering of man. Women get to be happy. We build these
huge empires so women can sit around and you know, sit with a baby and enjoy their lives, and we're happy to give it
to them cuz we're nice. But happiness is for women and children. So many men say to me, "Oh, how I don't
feel happy." I'm like, "So? You think I'm happy? Seven criminal convictions. I got I got nearly a
billion dollars. I'm still stressed. I got criminal convictions, work to do. I was up at 6:00 a.m. I got to go here. I
got to go there. I've got to train. I've got to do this. I've got to do that. At what point do you think you've earned
the right to wake up as a man and feel happy? Losers have this problem with temporary motivation. A loser will come
and say, "I really want to change my life. I can't live like this anymore." And they'll mean what they say
for about 2 days. >> Mhm. >> And then they're happy to go back to
being a loser again. You know, they really want it Monday to Friday, but on the weekend they're happy to go back to
how they were. >> Yeah. >> [snorts]
>> And that's why they never escape. They never get the terminal velocity required to break free from the atmosphere of
mediocrity. See, if you're an 18-year-old boy or 18-year-old man and your life is pretty much okay,
bacteria didn't steal your eyesight, which could have happened. You never had a car crash and lost both of your legs,
which could have happened. You're actually very fortunate. And you wake up and you say, "I'm depressed." I think
you're an idiot. I don't think you're depressed. I think you've been sci-op'd. I think you feel a little bit of
depression, and you can fix that by changing your life. I think if you became rich and strong and smart and
successful and you worked hard and you dedicated yourself and you were motivated and you tried your very, very
best to become excellent, you probably wouldn't feel depressed anymore, which means it's not a disease, is it?
So how So why would you The only reason you're even saying you have depression is cuz you believe in it. If I believed
in depression, I would have been depressed in jail. But I can't be depressed if I don't
believe in it. If you don't believe in ghosts, how can you be haunted? You have two people in a
in a haunted house. One believes in ghosts, one doesn't. There's a knock in the night. One wakes
up, calls an exorcist, is terrified, looks for a ghost. Other guy doesn't believe in ghosts. Knock in the night,
goes back to sleep. It's the belief in the ghost that gives it the power.
If I don't believe in depression, I believe in feeling depressed. Sure, we're humans, we have emotions.
Sometimes we feel depressed, sometimes we feel happy. I don't believe in the idea of becoming
a depressed person who has depression. I don't believe in that. I don't think that's possible for me. So, if I don't
believe in it, how can it happen? I don't believe in depression. So, why would I not adopt the mindset that makes
me the most capable predator I can possibly be? Why not adopt the mindset that makes me as competent and as
fearsome as possible? If you've to install software in your own mind, why would I not install software that makes
me capable of not only driving a Bugatti in front of me or flying on private jets, but sitting in a Romanian dungeon
covered in cockroaches? I need to be able to do all of it. So, why would I believe in something that made me
incapable? I don't believe in depression because I think that even the belief in another
itself, when you feel depressed, you'll start to consider maybe I have depression. Then you'll go see a
psychiatrist who tells you you have depression, then they want you on pills. It's the belief that goes down the
spiral. If I feel sad, I go, "Oh, I'm depressed today. I'll be fine tomorrow." >> So, why
I suspect you're right or your what you're saying is pointing toward truth, that's my personal view.
But even if I disagree with you, I would I don't Okay, I disagree with you. Why is that so offensive, what you just
said? >> what's interesting, cuz when I said depression wasn't real,
the number of people who would attack me defending depression. This is why I didn't understand. Right. You say
depression isn't real, but depression has ruined my life, and this is super real, and it's ruined my life, AND I
LOST MY MARRIAGE. I'm like, if I told you it wasn't real, you should be coming to me saying, "Tell
me how it's not real. Please help me with my depression." Why are you trying to convince me that it's real? Why are
you sticking up for it? >> And why are you defending depression? >> And And why would I adopt the thinking
of someone who's sad? Why would I You're going to convince me to take your world view. You just told me your wife left
you, you're fat, and you want to kill yourself. And you want me to sit here and go
with my perfect life and go, "You know what? I want to think like this guy." You're out of You're out of your mind. I
don't believe in it. And because I don't believe in it, it's made me the kind of person who can't become depressed. With
unlimited options, with the capability to become anything you desire, with God giving you a full and able body and
mind, how do you have time to be depressed? You have so much you could do. There's so much that you need
to do to be your best self, and you're competing against men like me, and you're finding hours a day to be sad? No
wonder you're going to perpetually lose forever. That's suicide. So, how do you find time to do this?
It's It's brutally ineffective. You have a brain, you have a mind, you have a mental model. You can't think of
everything, you can't do everything. You can only have certain frameworks instilled inside of your mind. As a man,
you should be hyper-competitive. You should try to be the best version of yourself you can be. You're competing
against every other man on Earth for the girl you want, the car you want, the house you want, the watch you wear. It's
all competition. You should be as competitive as you possibly can. Anything that's inside of your mind
which doesn't allow you to be competitive should be erased. Let me tell you something. If someone told me
that I felt [ __ ] and I couldn't help it, no matter what I did about my life, gave me a bunch of mind-altering drugs, and
then sat me down to repeat all the bad [ __ ] that ever happened to me for hours and hours a day,
I'd kill myself. It gets to a point where it just ain't [ __ ] worth breathing anymore if you're going to
believe in that bollocks. But if you wake up and go, "You know what? They're saying this is a disease, but I don't
accept that paradigm. I don't believe in it. I believe that I can fix this myself. I believe if I change my reality
and create an experience of life that I am absolutely not least satisfied by, I will no longer feel depressed, you will
cure most of your own problems. Take two men, put them in two individual haunted
houses. Haunted houses. One believes in ghosts, one doesn't. There's a loud noise in the
night. The one who believes in ghosts wakes up and is paranoid, is afraid, can't sleep, is sitting in the corner of
the room shaking. The one who doesn't believe in ghosts goes back to sleep. It is the belief in the ghost which
punishes him, not the ghost itself. If you do not believe in depression, you can never be depressed.
That's why I don't believe in it. And to go into a broader point about all of that,
I don't even give a [ __ ] if I'm wrong. Because I've adopted a mental model that makes me ultimately and utterly
competitive in all realms of human endeavor. And if by me not believing in depression, I am better at fighting the
idea of being depressed, if I am better at making myself feel happier, if I am better at regulating my emotions by not
believing in an idea, then I'll just continue to stay wrong. I do not believe in things that take power away from me.
I believe in things that make me more powerful. I will not sit here and start believing in ideas that are going to
reduce my competence. Absolutely and utterly not. So, I don't give a [ __ ] what scientist, doctor, I don't give a
[ __ ] who you put in front of me and try to convince me I am wrong. I don't believe in it because I am more
competitive in this realm. And for the people who believe, if you and I go through the same terrible experiences,
the same level of heartbreak and trauma, I guarantee your belief will destroy you when mine won't. People underestimate
the power of the mind. I do not believe in anything that takes power away from me. And another thing I do not do is
adopt the thinking of people who are sad. When I say this, depressed people send me long emails trying to convince
me I am wrong. Why the [ __ ] would I want to think like you when you don't WANT TO LIVE? WHY WOULD I WANT TO THINK LIKE you
when you want to kill yourself and I'm perfectly fine? Adopting the thinking of somebody who doesn't want to live
anymore is probably the most stupid, asinine, inane, childish, ridiculous thing a functioning adult can do. If
you're depressed, I don't want to think anything like you, so take your opinion and get [ __ ]
People will argue with me when I say that. They say, "No, I didn't choose to feel this way."
And I'll argue back that believing everything is a choice empowers you to make the change.
>> Mhm. >> Trying to say that everything is not a choice removes your power and your
authority and your responsibility and your capabilities. >> Yeah, yeah.
>> sit and say, "Oh, no, I didn't choose this." Well, then they can't choose to fix it.
>> Yeah. >> Whereas, if you accept that every single thing about you is a choice, then you
get to choose to change it. >> Or not. >> So, I think the most powerful thing you
can do if you're a depressed or sad person is accept that you have chosen to be one, and you can choose to stop being
one. >> Mhm. >> And that's the mindset which allows you
to be most competitive. The reason you're not doing things is because you're remembering all of the times you
failed at doing those things. Ignore it. Erase it.
Just like on your phone, you delete the pictures you don't want. Inside of your mind, you must delete the memories you
do not want. Delete the memories you don't want. Rewrite them.
Every time I try, I win. Every time I try, I win. Every time I tried, I won. I win. I win. I win. Yep, I'll try this.
I'll try this. I'll try this. Goes wrong, doesn't matter, I won. Goes wrong, don't care, never lost. Goes
wrong, she wants me. Goes wrong, GOES RIGHT. >> And I
I think you have two choices as a man often when bad things happen. I feel like you can
maybe get depressed and sad about it, but the other outlets usually be anger or form of anger.
I felt like anger was more in many cases, anger's more effective, I guess. It's more
useful. >> You were angry in there? >> I wouldn't say I was angry, but if I
started to feel negative, I could turn it into frustration or anger, which I could at least alleviate with 2,000
push-ups. It's It's better than feeling sorry for myself. >> Right. Right.
>> I feel like if I had to choose one of the two outlets, deciding to use controlled anger was more beneficial
than sitting around feeling sorry for myself. I don't ever believe in moping or feeling sad. So, when I was at my
worst, perhaps I was a little bit angry. But then again, I also think I do that in my normal life, if I'm honest. I
don't think anger is a necessarily bad thing. I think that misdirected anger is a bad thing.
>> Mhm. >> I think if you get very angry about scenarios and you put it in the correct
direction, you get unlimited motivation and you get a lot done. The water behind the dam, it can be
destructive, but if it's pushing through the turbine, it powers the town, right? So, if I wake up and I go, "I want more
money." If I can get pissed off enough about it, I can do 36-hour work days, right? So, there's nothing wrong with
being angry in my world, as long as you are putting it in the correct direction. It's uncontrolled anger I think is a
problem. >> Right. If everybody understands what it takes
to get strong, and they understand that they are viewed differently for being strong,
and that they are viewed in a positive light for being strong, and still refuses to become strong,
they are telling you that they lack dedication. They lack the motivation required to do
hard things. And that when the going gets tough, they quit. That's what they are saying to you. And
you can instantly see it, whether they want to say it or not. That's what they broadcast permanently.
It doesn't matter if it's a business discussion. It doesn't matter if it's a fitness
discussion. It doesn't matter. When you see a big strong man, you know he has at least the qualities of dedication.
You know he is prepared to push past a certain point where most people would quit. You know he's the kind of person
who understands how important it is to be seen in a certain way, so they're protective of
their reputation. That they're proud of themselves. If I was obese,
saying the exact same things I was saying to you, you wouldn't listen. None of you would be on this emergency
meeting listening to me if it was word for word the same if I was obese.
You are here because you know I understand the tenants of strength and I understand the tenants of discipline.
So these are people who are prepared to broadcast to the world that they lack discipline purely because they are so
monumentally lazy or they are so afraid of difficulty that they would rather suffer that
than fix the problem.
The core philosophy is that you are the hero of your own story, and becoming a winner is achieved by taking action first and refusing to be mentally defeated, regardless of external circumstances. It emphasizes that your internal reality, including a willingness to create a powerful personal truth even if it seems irrational, dictates your external success, and that inaction makes you vulnerable to being broken by life's challenges.
The video argues that most failures stem not from external enemies or bad luck, but from your own mind betraying you through self-sabotage. This betrayal manifests as self-doubt, procrastination, seeking comfort in excuses, and anxiety. To identify it, you must recognize patterns where you are not appreciating what you have, cannot focus, or can't dedicate yourself to a task you dislike, and then reject that weakness with disgust.
Irrational self-belief requires you to refuse to accept past failures as part of your identity by rewriting your memory and telling yourself 'every time I try, I win.' This unlocks unlimited attempts because most people quit due to a fear of repeating past failures, but by ignoring objective outcomes, you persist stubbornly and increase your chances of eventual success.
The video argues that depression is not a disease but a belief system you adopt, comparing it to belief in ghosts where one person is terrified in a 'haunted' house while another sleeps soundly. It claims that believing you have no choice removes your ability to change, but that believing you chose to feel a certain way empowers you to choose to feel different, thus rejecting the identity of a victim.
The video asserts that a man should not optimize for happiness, as it leads to hedonistic, narcissistic, and unproductive behavior, and that happiness is for women and children. Instead, a man must accept that he will be stressed or annoyed 99% of the time, and the choice is between the stress of being a 'somebody' or the stress of being a 'nobody,' with the former being the path to winning.
The video presents physical strength as a direct broadcast of mental discipline: a strong body communicates dedication, the ability to push past quitting points, self-respect, and a protective attitude. In contrast, a weak body broadcasts a lack of dedication, fear of difficulty, and a tendency to quit when things get hard, revealing an undisciplined mind.
The final pillar emphasizes that winning ultimately comes from insane persistence, not talent or luck. The video argues that after years of competition, only one man is still showing up, and the award goes to him. The method is 'via brutal persistence, via brutal stubbornness,' ensuring that as others quit, you remain to claim the prize.
