I'm putting $100 down every day, not getting a sale. And there were people doing like5$10 million a year. One day I
wake up and wait a minute. Wow, man. Okay, so I more than doubled my money. My first $1,000 day was probably within
4 weeks. These are ClickBank Platinum Awards, Platinum Plus for over a million dollars in sales. Also have two comma
club. Facebook went through and just spent all that money and I didn't hardly got any sales and I lost $2,500 in one
day. I was like, man. All right, welcome to the new show and today on the first episode we have one and only Mark
Voldray. What's going on Mark? >> Hey Ross, thanks for having me man. I appreciate it.
>> Mark Vodre is the OG when it comes to making money online and affiliate marketing and how he managed to make
more than a million dollars in less than how less than eight months you were able to make that Mark. I
>> think so. Yeah, around absolutely that's what happened right? Yep. around eight or nine months, something like that.
>> Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm just going to lay out who you are and what you do so the audience they they know you. So
Mark Vodre, he's a father and grandfather, right? >> I am. Yes.
>> Yeah. And >> that's right. >> Mark was in corporate America for a long
period for many many years. He was managing about 200 people like on a very good position in corporate America
getting paid pretty well and then all of a sudden he decided that he's sick of the 9 to5 grind and he decided to start
making money online and >> well that's sort of the story. >> Yeah, you're going to tell me later in
just a little bit. Yeah, I'm just briefing it. >> All right. So yeah, you decided to quit
a well like a well- paid job and secure job in order to pursue freedom and prosperity and more wealth. And so you
looked into affiliate marketing and long story short, you made a million dollars your like second or third year on being
an affiliate, right? >> Less than that, man. Less than less time less time. Less time than that. Yeah. I
mean, I think that I hit We hit the first million like in the first year.
>> There you go. Awesome. >> All right. Well, >> there's a process behind it, right?
>> There's a there's a big process behind that. Yeah. >> I'm going to start with the first
question. So, we dive straight into that. So, before your first door online, what was your like life like? What were
you doing for money? Like tell me about your job? How did you start? What was the corporate America? Uh, and what made
you think about affiliate marketing? Yeah. Okay. Well, so the last job I had, I was managing a satellite office right
outside of Boston for a SAS company, SAS software company, and I was the director of sales development in that company.
So, I wasn't managing 200 people, but I had about 30 people under me, okay, at that time. Okay. And when I first got
hired, it was an awesome job, man. They had, you know, I'd go to New York City, too, because they had an office in New
York City. They'd send me to New York City. And I'm like, man, this job's awesome. Like, they're sending me here
every month, putting me up in a hotel, dude. And I had a great boss, man, that hired me, right? Great boss, dude. And
but guess what happened? Like after I think it was like a year in, my boss left the company. Now, I don't know what
happened there, if he got canned or if he resigned, but whatever. He's the guy that hired me. And what they did is they
brought another CRO, right? Chief revenue officer in. And now I have to prove myself all over
again to a new guy, right? So this is how it works, right? We were always hitting our numbers. We were already
always hitting quota. But still, it didn't matter because when someone else comes in, you still need to prove
yourself. And now I have to like not only are my numbers perfect, but now I got to get this guy
to like and trust me, right? Now I have to prove myself again. So I did that and we became friends and we did okay. And
then all okay, everything's good again for another year or maybe a year and a half. And guess what happened? He left.
All right, dude. But I will tell you after my first boss left, let's let me rewind a little bit. After my first boss
left, I said, "Wait a minute, I got scared." I said, "You know what? Like with this new CRO coming in, I need to
do something because if I don't do something, if they bring someone else in and and he gets canned, I could be out
on the street looking for another job." And I was getting paid well. I I thought I was making a lot of money, right? I
did. I thought I was making a lot of money. But I remember I remember I remember they sent me out
to Vegas on a marketing event like for the for SAS software, right? And everybody after the event at night was
going out partying in in Las Vegas. But I knew I said, "You know what? I have to do something." I had this burning desire
to learn how to make money online because I knew eventually I would have a boss that brought his own
crew in got rid of everybody or potentially the company got sold and they shut down the entire office and I'd
be out on the street or I'd be looking for another job and potentially looking for another job at the age I was back
then like like mid50s would have been like a catastrophe because then you're competing against
people like in their 20s and these people will work cheaper than what you know I'm willing to work for. It's a
nightmare, dude. Right. It's a nightmare, right? To get your get that wage back. So, long story short, I
started diving into learning how to make money online. It was like an obsession. I had to do it, right? It was like
something that God put in me. Like, I have to learn how to do this, right? This is really true. This is how I felt.
It's like this burning desire, right? Mhm. >> So
>> I remember in Las Vegas, man. >> Just to be this is your pivot moment like in Vegas.
>> Yes. Totally. >> Vegas is your like >> that's it. I'm I'm out. I'm done.
>> That's it. And I remember everybody's out partying in Vegas, right? I'm in my hotel room with my laptop going, I need
to find a way to make money online. So I got this I got this course. >> I bought this course about drop
shipping. That was my first thing. >> All right. And so I started drop shipping. Walk us through. Which year is
that? When was that? like a year. >> Oh >> that must have been let me think
>> 2018. >> 2017 maybe >> 2017 2018. So about 10 years ago you
started realizing and what was your age at the time? How old were you at the time?
>> I think I was around 55. >> 55. So at 55 you start learning like a newborn about marketing digital
marketing. >> Yeah. So for anyone over out there, for anyone out there thinking it's too late,
you're the proof. >> Yeah. >> Oh, no. It's never too late, man. It is
never too late. In fact, we can talk about that later, but >> uh it is never too late because the
corporate skills that you have, if that if that's you, by the way, if you're watching this and you're thinking that
if you're in a similar position and you're thinking, "Hey man, I could be laid off tomorrow or AI is coming from
my job or there's a younger person here that's going to take my place." Well, the corporate skills that you have and
this was true in my case, right? I mean, I had sales and marketing experience as many years in corporate, right? So,
those will work for you. Th those skills will work for you that you have in an online business for sure. Okay? So,
we'll let's talk about that later. But anyway, I started with drop shipping and I bought this course on drop shipping in
Vegas, man. And I remember I bought it and I spent Ross I spent I think I spent like five grand on this course or
something back then. >> Right. And that like put all right. So I went through and I bought the course and
>> Oh, you were all in. >> I was all in, man. >> Right. So I bought the course.
>> It was a on demand course. I went through the course and I set it up. I went through I set up my I think I set
up a Shopify store and the whole thing. I got I sourced products from China >> and I put stuff out there. I had I had
no idea how to run Facebook ads, dude. None. I had no clue, dude. I I knew nothing. I knew I have this is my list
of questions about running ads, but yeah, go ahead. [laughter] >> I had I knew nothing, man. Okay,
>> so I stumbled through that and somehow I, you know, I was trying to get it done
and I was boosting posts I think at that time instead of just running through a Facebook business manager. And
>> I think I made a couple of sales. I don't know how, but I did. And that's impressive.
>> Yep. It took so long for the product to get delivered, dude. It took so long from China. It was from China. So it
like took like six weeks for this. I think what it was was like a shot glass, a whiskey shot glass, right? It got it
took so long for that product to get delivered to the customer that they canled it and asked for a refund before
it even got delivered. And I think they got the product anyway. >> [laughter]
>> So I said, you know, and I said, "Wait a minute. I I'm competing against Amazon here who delivers like next day." So I
said, "This is not working, man." I said, "I need to come up with something that's fast, instant, right?" And I I
knew about ClickBank. I knew about it. And I remember like maybe some years back, I would look at it and say, "How
are people making money with this?" Like I had no for people who are not aware of is the affiliate network that Mark and I
are using. Like ClickBank is an network that provides people with affiliate offers. So you don't have to create your
own product. You just grab someone else's product. You promote it and you get chunk of the final price. Basically,
you're the middleman and you get like a commission for promoting someone else's product, but without the hassle, without
the customer support, without the manufacturing and the logistics. Like the vendor handles everything. You just
collect your paychecks, your commissions. >> That's right. That's right. So I knew a
little bit about it. Okay. So, since I bought that drops shipping course and I was constantly on online looking for
courses like how to, you know, make this work, obviously my Facebook feed was filling up with all these ads about how
to make money online now, right? >> Yeah. >> So, one day I'm I'm scrolling through
and this ad comes up for a course and I I think you know what course I'm going to talk about, right? It was it was
Profit Engine, the name of the Maybe some of you guys watching this know this course. Maybe some of you have even
taken the course, right? It was profit engine and this is a while ago. So, I bought that course, right? And because
it was talking about affiliate marketing, no fulfillment. You just like you you sell and you don't have to worry
about the product being delivered. I was like, "Yes, man." I go, "That's what I need because I need instant sales. I
don't need this. I don't need this drop shipping stuff anymore." Right? >> Then even the Facebook algorithm was too
smart to know that, okay, Mark is sick and tired of the drop shipping. Now, let me supply him with the right ads.
>> Right? So I got the app. So I got bought that course, >> right? And it was delivered
weekly, right? So you would you would log in and it wouldn't be like this full course that you could go in at your own
speed. It was delivered weekly. So they sold the course before it was even created. Okay? So they were just doing
it one at a time every week. So I'm all in on this course, right? And I and and the calls were the calls were at like I
think 9:00 Eastern Standard Time. Okay. So, I wanted to be on these live calls. So, I'm all in. Right. So, I'm up here
in this office, right? Downstairs. We have a downstairs. And my wife is like saying to me, "What are you doing
upstairs? What What are you doing? Why are you doing this? Why?" Right? And I'm like saying, "Listen, I know what I'm
doing. I know what I'm doing. I got to get this done." Right? So, she was like thinking, I think she thought I was
maybe like a little crazy at first, right? >> But I kept doing it. I kept doing it.
Guys, you got to keep doing it. If people like were talking that way and to you, you got to keep going because trust
me, just keep moving forward, right? So, I went through it and I did it. I went through the whole course. It was a good
co. It taught about pattern interrupt advertising, about how to put up crazy ads, crazy images to get the click
through to the offer to an affiliate offer. Okay. >> So, so you're talking about promoting
affiliate offers with Facebook ads, not with organic traffic, not just just Yeah. for the audience. So the courses
the course were teaching you or Facebook ads to drive traffic out of Facebook to a special like landing page where the
affiliate offers was staying and when people buy it then you get a percentage, right?
>> That's right. Yep. >> Okay. >> Well then yeah maybe walk us through
like the your first commission like we're going to talk about that man. >> Okay. Yeah. How did you
>> Okay. So I went through that whole course. Okay. Went through the whole course. The course was excellent when it
came to coming up with ad copy and pattern interrupt images, which means like you like you want to put up an
image that jars people. Like they look at the image and go, "What the heck is this? I got to I got to click on this to
find out what it is because it's a sort of like a crazy image, right?" So they click on it and then they go to a
landing page and they click on the landing page button. Then it send them sends them to a ClickBank offer with our
>> with my hop link, my individual hop link. And if they buy that, I get buy the offer, I get paid. Okay. Yeah. And
the whole link is basically like an affiliate tracking link. So the system can track if you the affiliate brought
the sale so they can give you the commission. >> That's right. So I go through the course
and there like was all about that. It was all about pattern interrupt. But there was one module on Facebook ads and
it was light on teaching Facebook ads. Okay. It was very light just touched surface. Right?
>> So it told I I remember in the course it was saying okay here's how you run Facebook ads. You go in, you you set
traffic. That course was really light, by the way, on teaching Facebook advertising, right? It
was excellent when it came to teaching pattern interrupt imagery and coming up with some copy. It gave us a sample
landing page to use that we could modify through our own hosting account, right? But as far as running Facebook traffic,
it was light. And let me explain what I mean by light. It didn't really teach us on how to get conversions. So, it taught
me how to run a Facebook traffic campaign to my landing page. That was it. Right? So, here I am, right? And I
think Ross, you can relate to this, right? Just think about this, right? So, I'm running Facebook ads with my pattern
interrupt image as the course talked about to my landing page with traffic for a traffic optimized campaign, right?
And I'm not getting any sales, dude. I'm putting $100 down every day, not getting a sale. $200 down trying to think. I'm
thinking, man, what's wrong with my ads, man? I'm following this course. What's going on? Nothing's working, right?
Nothing's working, right? So, I knew people were crushing it in there, dude. I knew people were crushing it in that
course and I was starting to stalk people on Facebook to see who the winners were and I I was like
>> Yeah. Can I interrupt you for a second? Where So, you're trying to get inspired by other people, but where did you find
them? In Facebook groups related to affiliate marketing or to something else to to marketing? So I I knew I knew
people in the profit engine course, right, before they released the public course, right? There was another group
that had done very well called Profit Engine and there were people doing like5$10 million a year, okay, in sales.
Okay. >> And this is like inner circle within the course you bought, right?
>> Absolutely. Okay. >> So I started searching these people out, right? So, I went on I remember going on
Facebook and looking at the group and I saw a guy, right? I saw a guy and if you're watching this, you know what I'm
about to say, man. If you're the guy you right, you I looked in Facebook and I saw that, oh, there's someone crushing
it. He was like at the top of their leaderboard, right? And his name was Nick Torson. Nick Ross, right? You and
I. >> Yeah. >> So,
>> yeah, >> I saw Nick the first time I was exposed to him. Okay. So, I saw him by stalking
him out and I found him on Facebook and I sent him a message and I said, "Hey, Nick." I said, "I'm stuck on this." I
said, "I'm wondering if you'd mentor me." I asked him straight out if he'd mentor me. Right? So, he said, maybe
three days went by, I didn't hear from him. And then he sent me a a message back and he said, "Yeah, before I mentor
you, let's hop on a call to see if it's a fit." Okay? And this is long before, by the way, just for everyone watching,
this is long before the high ticket sales calls. This is like 10 years ago. We're talking about 2016, 2017. This is
not like because right now currently the trend is a setter and a sales call and everybody's hyped about these sales
calls. Whenever someone tells you, hey, let's jump on a call, you immediately, your inner gut expects, okay, it's going
to be a sales call. But back then, it was just, yeah, let's hop on a call and see what's going on.
>> Well, it's important because he did. It's important that he did that, by the way, right? because and I'll explain
later maybe in this call, but it's important that he did that because he could have said, "Yeah, send me $10,000
and I'll be your mentor." He could have said that, man, and I probably would have paid him, right? Because I had
money in my 401k or I I could pull it out and just pay him because I'm all in, right? Because I have to, right? I'm all
in. But he didn't do that. So, he said, "Yeah, let's hop on a call and we'll talk and see if it's a good fit." Which
is important, by the way. Okay. I got on a call with him and I said, "Hey, man." I said, "Look, I'm stuck, right? I'm
running these ads and I'm not getting any sales. I followed the course. Nothing's working. And he said, "Let me
ask you a question." I said, "What?" He goes, "What are you uh how are you running your ads? Show me your your
Facebook business manager." And I I shared my screen and he saw it and he goes, "Oh, the the problem is you're
optimizing for traffic. You need to optimize for conversions." >> So all I did, man, all I did, dude, is I
made a little change on my Facebook business managers that night. Click >> once. day. That next day, boom.
>> Wow. >> Next day, first sale. >> Wow. Wow. This
>> worked. One switch >> and you made money. >> That's it.
>> Yep, >> bro. This is amazing. >> So then I said, "Okay, man." Then I
said, "Do you want to be my mentor?" He goes, "Yeah, man." He goes, "I'm only going I'm only going to take students
that take action >> because if I don't like you, it's important. You have to take action on
what's being taught. if you it's so important right so when I was really hungry and I had and I was taking action
right so >> I hired him as my mentor which was that was the catalyst for me right
>> so every week >> every week I got on a call with him yeah >> can you walk us through he helped you
like your mentor helped you just with one switch so this is how important a mentor is I know for myself cuz I hired
many mentors in my career as well it's important it's not about what info you're going to get it's about the
little things the small things like a But can you walk us through? So you did this switch and you started making money
for the first time with affiliate marketing, right? >> So this was on a small scale. Can you
walk us through what was going from I would assume you were making 50 bucks a day or something like that to 100 to
what was the the or even less? I don't know. You tell us, but how did you scale from your first commission to your first
$1,000 a week or a day or a month? Yeah. So he was telling me like back then it was a different process. Things
were working a lot different, right? >> Yeah. We don't need like a lot of details because you're going to show us
like your screen some of the things you're working right now. But briefly like just to understand maybe walk us
through did you change the offer or did you Okay. So he was recommending offers for me at that time, right? You like
>> back then weight loss was hot, >> right? >> This is interesting, man.
Weight loss was hot back then, right? It's difficult now with with OMIC and Monuro and all the pharmaceuticals out
there that are crushing it, right? >> But back then those didn't exist. So a lot of people were buying weight loss
supplements. So he would say, "Hey Mark, you need to run I think it was lean belly something."
>> Lean belly something. >> Lean belly >> lean belly
>> something. Okay. So I know you have promoted this software as well.
>> Lean belly fit or something like that. Yeah, something like that. >> So, he gave me the offer. He goes, he
goes, "I think this is really going to work for you." Right. >> And how much was Do you remember like
how much the offer was paying like a commission wise? Like 58 bucks, I think. My Yeah. My average order value was like
$58, right? >> Okay. So, your only job was to make the ads less than $58 and you were
profitable. >> That's it. >> Yeah. So, if you spend $40 per one sale,
you're making money. That's it. And that's another thing he said to me. He said, "You don't have to overthink this
or be technical." He goes, "Basically, it just comes down to simple business sense. If you're paying less than you
are, if you're paying less than an AOV, your average order value, you're making money. So, just keep pumping them out."
Right? That was it, right? And I was just doing basic tracking, right? >> I was just doing basic tracking.
>> So, I remember starting to run it and I wake up one morning. I think I ran like I don't know, man. Say I I did $100 in
ad spend one day. I wake up and wait a minute, I made 250 in the sales. Wow, man. Okay. So, I more than doubled my
money. Then I said, "Okay, let's run some more ads." Ran some more ads. I was doubling my money. All of a sudden, I
had a good credit line, too, right? I made sure that when I started my business, by the way, I started an LLC
to where I was able to get business credit. Like, Amex will start you with a low AX will start you with a low credit
limit, like three grand or maybe even $1,000 a month. But when you're using that card and you're paying it back
every week, all of a sudden, next thing they're giving you crazy credit limits, right? So you can leverage that and
that's how I made my money, right? So I started going all in on this and the next thing you know, dude,
I think I hired him. Ross, you mean I hired him in October? I think Yeah, I think I hired him in like
October. >> So he basically he just just the time frame the timeline. He basically you
jump on a call with him, a free call. He suggested you change one thing and that one thing started making you money. You
didn't hire him at this time but you decided to hire him later on. >> I hired him like the next day the next
day after that change and then we started doing weekly calls. >> Okay.
>> Right. So we had walked me through like Facebook business manager and understanding these things. All the
calls were recorded dropped in my folder all these things. Right. But >> um that was the catalyst for me. And um
I would say like my first $1,000 day >> was probably within >> four weeks four weeks.
>> Four weeks of uh bringing him on. Yeah. >> And from $1,000 a day, how did you scout a million dollars? Cuz all these awards,
can you show Can you show these awards behind you are all from ClickBank, right?
>> Yeah. These are ClickBank platinum awards. Platinum Plus for over a million dollars in sales. also have a two comma
club for funnels by the way for building funnels. >> Dude, we could talk about this forever,
man. Like how I knew nothing, man. I knew nothing, right? Honestly, so to answer your question, how did I get up
awards? You started from Vegas not knowing anything and you just bought a drop shipping course,
>> right? You you have now you've made millions of dollars in in in online money. That's impressive.
>> Yeah. C Can you walk us through? So, you're now making $1,000 a day. Is that the time when you reach your million
dollars or you started scaling more or what was it like from a thousand dollars?
>> Yeah. Where I really started making money guys is now here's what we talked about this earlier in the call, right?
About your corporate skills, right? So my corpor I brought my corporate skills that I knew into my affiliate marketing
business. Okay. And what was that? Right? So I I'd been in corporate sales and marketing for years, right? And I
remember getting on a call with Nick and saying, "Okay, I'm running ads to a landing page." And then they click on
the landing page and they go right to the offer. I said, "I'm not grabbing their email." I go, "Why am why aren't I
grabbing an email to to where I can start promoting them later?" And I remember him saying to me, "You don't
have to worry about it. You're still going to make money." But I in my mind, I'm like saying, "Wait, wait a minute.
Wait a minute. I've been running marketing campaigns in corporate forever and we're always building a list,
right?" So, what I did is I said, "Okay, you know what I'm going to do is I'm going to create a lead magnet." And I
went into instead of promoting weight loss, I started investigating DIY or do-it-yourself type of offers, okay? And
I found an offer on ClickBank. You guys might know it. Maybe if you don't, I'll talk about it. It's Ted's woodworking.
Okay? And I created a lead magnet to where I would then run Facebook ads promoting the lead magnet, not the
offer. I would say, "Hey, download this super awesome lead magnet. All I want you to do is watch our video and I'm
going to send you this lead magnet." And so they would come into my landing page then and then drop their email name in
or address in and then when they click the button, I send redirect them to the affiliate offer. Okay? So, in the
meantime, I've got their email address now to where I can start sending them emails if they didn't buy to get them to
buy or I can send them emails to buy other related offers. Okay, that's where things really started taking off for me,
man. That's when it started happen when I started building my lists. That's when everything changed for me. Like, I was I
was doing okay and I was doing like $1,000 a day running Facebook ads. Yeah, I was doing okay. And I still do okay
with that, by the way. That's still a strategy, >> but
building your own assets in the form of email lists is what really moved the needle for me to this day. To this day,
dude, I have that list right now and it still pays the bills, man. Or it helps pay the bills, right? Like, oh,
definitely. Yeah. So if I have to summarize is you were an affiliate marketer and you migrated from your
mindset from I'm just making money to now I am running a business >> that's right
>> yeah by collecting email addresses you're collecting an asset that's a business asset and so I'm assuming you
created a brand around it right >> yes I did certainly yep >> so DIY offers diet offers these are Oh,
first of all like people to lose weight or people who have hobby hobbies people with free time.
>> Yeah. Right. Can you might maybe share your screen like to show us some of the landing pages you were using or the
websites or something that people can >> definitely man >> use. Yeah.
>> Yeah. Let me put some glasses on cuz I don't know see here. >> Hold on.
>> And so all this is Facebook traffic meta traffic right? Just >> 100% man.
>> All right. That's awesome. And okay, so let's and you're saying like in percentage wise, how much an email list
was bringing to your overall profit margins like in percentage? >> 80%.
>> 80 Oh, dude. 80%. So on the surface like you have the like your affiliate links with affiliate offers, this is bringing
20% and then on the back end the email is bringing 80%. So basically the email list is the wealth, right?
>> It's it is the wealth. Yep. Because what's happening is you have to think about it this way guys. If if you're
running traffic just to a basic lander, >> um if they don't buy, you never see them again. They can even put their name in
the order form and they can say >> they can put their name in the order form and say, you know what, I'm not
going to buy. I changed my mind. >> Right? Those are the hottest leads, >> right? Because you're never going to see
them again and someone's going to sell them that offer eventually. So you need to get them on a list, right? And so
this is now this is you guys can see the screen, right? Ros can I ask you a question? Like if we
have to put everything in order so people know, what is the first thing you would spend money on today or before? Is
it the mentor? Is it the traffic source? Is it the course? Like how did you spend your money so you can gradually um scale
and >> Well, it was in stages. So I think that the to answer your question Yeah. To
answer your question, man, the real power comes from a decision and being committed. If you make a decision and
you're committed, then you take the first step and then you accomplish that first step, that second step is going to
be revealed to you. Okay? It comes from a decision to be involved. Like I remember making the decision saying, you
know what, I am going to be a top 1% online marketer. >> I am going to be that. Then after a
while, I I changed my way of thinking and I said, I am I'm not going to become one. I am a
top 1% online marketer even before I wasn't and I started believing that I was right and I was committed to it.
That's it. Right. So I didn't get into this just to make a few extra bucks to see if it worked
>> or to see if it would I could make some fast money. >> I didn't do that. I made I made the
decision to like get into this and take steps. So when I hired my >> mentor just briefly like you got you I'm
sorry for interrupting you. So briefly the steps are like you got the traffic, you spend a little bit of money on
traffic, you lost a little bit of money on traffic, then you decided, you know what, I might need some help and then
you reach out to Nick >> and then it exported from there, right? >> That's it.
>> It did. But you know what? During But he didn't teach me email. >> Yeah. You know what I mean? Soant, you
know what I mean? >> Yeah. He didn't teach me email. So I branched out on that on my own actually.
So he taught me everything. He didn't hold back, right? He told me he was excellent. He showed me everything to
do. But I introduced email into the equation and that's where in my experience that's what took off for me.
Okay, there are many paths that you can be successful at, but in my experience, that's what took off for me. Okay, so
what I'm showing you here is a homepage, but I'm going to show you this. I haven't changed this page
in years and it's still delivering. Okay, so this is it. This is where we're running traffic to. And we're running
traffic to similar pages like this using the same formula. So you can see we have branding here. Bucks wood shop. And at
the top I want to explain this to you guys. This is very important. At the top it says unlock your 150 free woodworking
plans. What I want you guys to put in your mind is that this can work for pretty much any type of
>> offer. Just sorry I don't see where it says unlock >> under. Do you see the red unlock 153?
You don't see it? >> No. >> What are you looking at?
>> I I see the page, but there is no red thing. >> Do you just see the homepage?
>> I see the homepage. Yeah. >> Okay. So, this is where we're sending traffic.
Okay. And I want to give just give you guys a little bit of an overview here where it says unlock 150 free
woodworking plans. That's the lead magnet. Okay. In anybody's case, I just want to say this could work for
virtually just about any offer for building a list. So in this case it would be or in your case or any other
offer it would be unlock your super awesome lead magnet. Whatever that is simply complete our quick survey and
watch our video now to access. Okay. I'm telling them to complete the quick survey and watch our video now to
access. I'm making them think that they have to watch a video in order to get this super awesome lead magnet. Okay.
All right. So, they come down and they take the survey. Okay. Can you see the survey question,
Ross? >> Yes. Yes. >> Okay. So, then they're going to go
through and take a survey. It doesn't matter what they they answer here. All I'm trying to do is get a micro
commitment out of them and filter out the leads that really aren't that qualified by selecting by if they go
through this quiz, they're going to be super qualified, right? So, how long have you been woodworking? Less than a
year. We'll click there. Right? It doesn't matter. We'll go through these.
And then they come in and they drop their email address in here, right? Watch this entire video and get 150
woodworking plans and guides sent directly to your email inbox. This could be like, "Watch this entire
video and get your super awesome lead magnet sent directly to your email inbox."
>> Doesn't matter. Then they're going to say, "Yeah, take me to the video. I want that lead magnet." Right? So, it's going
to submit. And I Okay, we're going to send it to you after you watch the video. And there's the video, guys.
Right now, the this video is an this is an affiliate offer. This is not your right. This is not your
website. >> No, this is not my Exactly. >> So, you're basically collecting the
email, sending them a lead magnet, and then referring them or sending them to the affiliate landing page as a thank
you page. >> That's it. There we go. Awesome. Okay, that's it in a nutshell. That's that's
what made my that's what made my money. Now, >> we've done various versions of this
through other offers. >> These are my next questions. Maybe >> you awesome, bro.
>> You can stop your screen if you want to, but this was amazing. Thanks for sharing this.
>> So, that's the process of collecting emails and making money as well. Like not only wasting money to collect the
emails, but trying to validate the emails. not validate but validate the the money that you spend to collect the
emails by just offering an affiliate offer as a thank you page, right? >> Yeah.
>> So, do you do you now have a pattern or maybe let me go with this question. You're spending money on Facebook ads,
right? >> And are there any other traffic sources you've tried or your main traffic source
is Facebook and Meta? >> So, I have tried I have tried YouTube. I've tried native ads.
I've tried those those two, right? And my opinion is like you need to be an expert in one traffic source. That's my
opinion, man. I think that because there's one traffic source is so complex. I did okay with YouTube, but
then I guess I lost track. They made so many changes on it, it was just hard to keep up with it. But I've stayed focused
on Facebook ads primarily right now. Yeah, that's it. >> All right, bro. Awesome. I think my
camera froze for for some reason. It did freeze. Well, I'm going to try to fix it, but in the meantime, let me actually
try to fix it and then we're going to continue. So far is good, bro. Awesome. So, I have
a important question that comes next. So, you made a lot of money. You received a lot of awards from ClickBank.
This is the platform for affiliate marketers. But I'm assuming there is the path or the way was not always win-win.
I I assume there were some cases where you lost some stuff. Um the next question is what is the most amount of
money you lost in one campaign or one month or one >> let's talk about that.
>> Yeah. And what was the actual mistake behind it which is more important? >> Yeah. if you can. Let me think about
that. >> But like >> probably a lot maybe some of you guys
are looking at that that >> two comma club award behind me and these ClickFunnel awards here and you're
saying, "Wow, must be nice. I guess he got lucky." Let me tell you something here, right? There's a process behind
that and there's a process behind here and you don't see you're not This is an excellent question, Russ. There was a
lot of heartache and a lot of nights up like wondering if I'm going to pull through or make it. So there's a process
to get to be successful, right? So to answer your question, yeah, there's ups and downs, but I can remember one day
for instance, there's me been many occasions, right? But I'll say this one thing. I was running I was running an
offer. I think it was weight loss to a buffer page to a buffer page >> to the offer page.
>> It was a lean belly offer some weightage >> just like a a bridge page like a bridge landing page, right? Not just an email.
>> Yeah. A buffer page is just the page you just showed us, right? >> No, that was a email optin. A buffer
page. I'll I'll show you an example of that. Let me show you an example. Awesome.
>> Yep. Let's pull something up here. Okay. Hold on. Let me clear out of this. >> Yep.
>> Put my glasses on. Hold on a second. Here we go. I'm going to have a sip of >> this. You see it?
>> Yep. >> Can you guys see it? >> This is the bridge page.
>> Awesome. >> This is a bridge page for another DIY type offer. Okay. So, look right
headline image, right? To make it look like a a video and a button here, some
testimonials, a button here. >> So, similar to the opt-in page, but without an optin. It's just basically,
>> right? So, they're going to go down here, read some copy, and say, "Hey, man. This looks good."
>> And they click here, right? >> And when they click here, what's going to happen? They're going to go to
>> an offer, right? That's it. Okay, that's what I was doing. I was running something similar,
>> but it was a weight loss offer to a page like that without collecting >> without collecting. So, I was running
traffic to a page like that for a similar offer, not collecting email addresses. Okay. And it was doing really
well. I remember one morning I ran I think I had $500 in ad spend one day and I had make $1,500
in profit, right? And I said, "Wow, man. I go I'm crushing it." So, what do I do? What did I do? I got greedy, right? I
said, "Okay, I'm going to boost my budget from $550 to $2,000 a day." So, I boosted
>> spent in one day. >> And spend, dude, I said, "I'm going all in on this offer, right?" So, I remember
that morning I boosted it up, dude. Facebook went through and just spent all that money and I didn't hardly got any
sales and I lost $2,500 in one day. I was like, man, >> or another story, I can keep talking
about these types of things, right? Like I remember one morning and I try to really run Facebook compliant, by the
way, now, right? 100%. We run 100% Facebook compliant now. We don't play games with anything.
>> So that's why I went into DIY, by the way. So I was running clean, running offers that Facebook likes. One morning,
we're crushing it, dude. We're killing it. Really killing it. And one morning, I wake up, everything's shut down. My
Facebook business manager is down. Gone. >> I'm like, what the hell happened? >> That was my next question, by the way,
to uh have you ever lost a Facebook ad account and how did it feel? But before that, what was the lesson from the first
failure? Is like when you see something working, don't immediately >> boost everything. Just
increase. Is that >> Yeah. Don't >> Yeah. Don't get greedy. Just go slow. Go
slow. Let it play out. Go slow. Right. >> Yeah, for sure. >> So, the next question is Yeah.
Obviously, have you lost advertising accounts? >> Yes.
>> And of course. >> Yeah. How did you come and how I I know you've done I know you've lost I lo but
I have to ask you but yeah, >> that's a good question. Now, since I have my list, by the way, I'm
building a list, right? Yeah, I have my list, right? I built the list, a large list now. Okay, when the business
manager got shut down, at least I could send email to my list and still make money. Okay,
>> right, I wasn't completely out of business. I still had a traffic source that I owned, right? I could send
traffic there. But how did I handle it? I remember thinking, wait, I'm running compliant. I'm running 100% Facebook
compliant and they shut down my ads. What the heck's going on? And I was reaching out to support asking what the
what's going on? No one's responding to me. I don't hear anything. And honestly, man, I thought it was over. I thought it
was over, man. So, we tried to create another business manager. We were having a hard time with that. And I just
thought it was over. And I said, "I guess I have to just completely just email my list." And one day,
one day, Facebook wrote me and said, "Oh, we made a mistake. Here's your business manager back."
>> Oh, wow. Okay. But before that happened, I lost a business manager that they didn't give me back. I remember when I
first started and I was running weight loss. They shut down a business manager and I somehow was able I went into my
into I was working in corporate then I went into a corporate computer and I set up another business manager. It must
have been a different IP address, right? And they let me have it, right, with a different Facebook profile and I somehow
got under the radar and got a business manager that way. But the bottom line is you guys, you're going to have bumps in
the road. You just got to keep moving forward, man. That's amazing, bro. That's amazing.
Like I my next question is related to this, which is after all of these troubles, how after all of the money
made, after like all the not only the setbacks, but the wins, the losses, what are your main characteristics or traits
to decide which offer or which niche is going to convert? If you can give me three or four elements you look for in
an offer so people know what to look for. Right now, what we're doing in 202 What?
Yeah. Right now in 2026, we're looking primarily still for DIY offers. Survival is hot, right? Survival,
DIY types of offers, right? Because first of all, think about it. Like that woodworking offer I showed you, by the
way, it's more than just a woodworking offer, okay? You're really marketing to people that have what? These people have
money. If they're going to set up a woodworking shop, they have a basement, which means they have a house. These
people have money. They probably have a dog. They probably have a wife, right? You can send all types of offers via
email to them. So, that's what I'm looking for primarily when I'm running an offer is that for people that have
money, I want to make sure that it translates into that because we've tried building lists, by the way, and I think
Ross, you have too, right? Within the health niche specifically, we tried to build a list on weight loss and we put
together a lead magnet for weight loss and we started trying to build a list for that. And we did. We built a list
for it. Then we tried to send offers to the list and they just weren't buying anything. So it taught us a lesson that
even though you build a list, it doesn't necessarily mean people have money in weight loss, right? Because if they
spend $200 or $250 on a weight loss supplement, it could be their last harrah, man. I don't know what they're
doing. They could say, "I desperately need to lose weight." And they could be like dead broke. I just don't know,
right? But if you're buying woodworking plans, I know that you have money. There's a good chance, right? Or if
you're buying camping equipment, I know you have money. Or if you're like looking at their survival or prepping, I
know you have money, right? So these are the types of offers that we're looking at now and we continue to run because
they're consistent. They're evergreen and they run, right? That's what we're looking for right now.
>> Yeah. Awesome, brother. Awesome. Is there or maybe let let me frame this in a different way. If someone is starting
right now, >> bro, you're frozen, bro. You're frozen again. Yep.
>> So, let me see my question, which was the following question. So, if I have to frame that, sorry about this, Mark, by
the way. >> It's all right. >> Yeah. So, if I have to frame it, let's
say you're starting today and you're starting with just $500, no audience, no list.
>> What is the first thing you're going to do in the next 30 days step by step in order to make money? That's your budget.
Your budget is 500 bucks for 30 days. No audience, no list, nothing. You're just starting from scratch. What you would do
to make money? >> First thing I'm going to do is I'm going to find an offer that I know that people
that buy it have money, right? That's the first thing I'm going to do, right? I'm going to think about that, right?
Maybe a pet offer, a DIY offer, a camping offer, survival offer, something like that that pays more than $50
average order value. That's what I'm going to look for. Okay? That's what I'm going to look for. Okay. Next thing I'm
going to do is I'm going to think about what's a good lead magnet I can create for that audience that will be congruent
with the offer when they download the lead magnet and they and I send them to the back offer. So, it's congruent. Now,
we don't have enough time to talk about this on this call, but I will tell you now is never ever been a better time to
get into this. And you may be hearing >> you're addressing my next question, but yeah, go ahead.
I'm telling you, never has been a better if you do it right. You have to do it right because
you don't want to do the old methods now, right? You don't want to do the old methods now. You want to do things that
are working today, right? So, the things that are working today is that you want to build assets for yourself, right? And
we already talked about the email list asset, but another asset is being able to create your own lead magnets. Now,
before AI came out, it was very difficult to build. >> Yeah, that was my next question. Yeah,
>> very hard, man. >> Right. But now you can really come up with some beauties, man. Right. And I'm
not just talking about a PDF. Yeah, you could do a PDF lead magnet and make it look good and desirable and they will
download it. And that's something that you could do on Claude and make it look amazing and they're going to download
the lead magnet and give you an email address. If you hit them right between the eyes with value, the whole thing,
right? That's it's good. But what we have found now man is if you create an app and you use it as a lead magnet that
is how you make money with apps by the way is that you use an app for a lead magnet and build your list with an app
because the chances of you going to if you guys don't know about this that's okay but it's anybody can make an app
now right anybody can make an app with AI right and it's not hard okay and a lot of people make these apps and they
think oh I have an app now and I'm going to upload it into the Apple store and Apple's going to sell it for me and I'm
going to get rich. No, no, it's not going to happen, guys, right? It's not going to happen. Everybody's thinking
that way. What we want to do is we want to create apps and we want to use them to number one, build an email list,
which is your asset, and that will make you money. Okay? That's what we want to do. Okay? Or number two, if you're
building an app, you want to use it to sell an offer that you're making. It's one of the two. Okay? So offer creation
is a whole different game. But right now has never been a better time to get into this in my opinion. Right? Never been a
better time if you're doing it right. Okay? You have to do it right. But you need to come at it from the frame of
mind that you >> Yes. I want you to learn how to run Facebook traffic to a standard bridge
page to an offer without collecting an email address. I think that's the first stage of this, right? You need to learn
how to do that and see what converts and get your basic sea legs underneath you and understand that one strategy. But
you need to graduate from that, right? And you need to build lead magnets and you need to build your lists so you can
sell on the back end later. And then you need to graduate from that and you need to start thinking about putting together
your own digital offers and selling those. That's the three stages, right? That is the trajectory that I followed.
And plus number four, right? Once you get really good and you have success under your belt, then people will come
to you and say, "Hey, Mark, would you be my mentor?" That is happening. That's been happening to me for the last 3 to
four years now, right? I'm now I'm not the student now. Now I'm like the mentor helping people achieve what they need to
achieve. Right? That's the course trajectory for you, right? Become a digital offer owner, sell your own
information. That's the way to go. And Ross and I had a conversation before we recorded this call. We were talking
about Yeah. Anybody can find information now on AI. So why would they pay you for that information? It's not just about
the information. It's about you. You're selling yourself, right? People like and trust you. They're going to buy your
information just because it's you, right? Yes. They're buying you. And the information that you give them is the
bonus. Really, that's the part, right? Because if you're just using 100% AI to sell stuff without injecting yourself
once you get to those later stages of building your own digital offers, it's going to be tough. But if you're using
your if you're incorporating yourself into the offer and guys I don't know how to say this.
>> Yeah, go ahead. >> I want to ask you one question which is again related to AI.
>> Just finish this one thing. >> Yeah, go ahead. >> I don't know how to say this right but
I'm going to just say it. It doesn't matter what you look like. It doesn't matter.
Just put yourself out there guys because peop AI is so saturating the market right now. People are hungry
to deal with real people, right? So, just do it. Put yourself out there. And if you're not there yet, that's fine. If
you don't feel comfortable doing that, get started, though. Get started and embrace the growth. And don't be afraid
to put yourself out there. Okay. Go ahead. >> I got to like we got to wind this up,
dude. I have a call here in a few minutes. >> Yeah. Yeah. So, I have three more
questions. So, next question. Next question is how does or how has AI changed your day-to-day operations with
affiliate marketing, creating campaigns, creating websites? >> How has it changed that?
>> Yeah. How has it changed it? Did it make it better or help? Does it help beginners or is it just making it
noisier? >> It'll make it noisier if you don't have a strategy, right? What you don't want
to do is tell AI. You don't AI is okay. You're the boss over AI. Okay. If you let AI be the boss over you, you're
screwed. Okay. How's that sound for an answer? Okay. You need to develop skills >> on your own to understand what works and
doesn't work >> so you can direct AI. Okay. >> Can you go like how do you use AI for
what actual stuff like? >> Yeah. So I'm So we use it for Facebook ad copy primarily. That's what we're
using it for. We're using it to create Facebook ad images that are congruent with that Facebook copy. We're and we're
doing it like wholesale. So for instance, yesterday I created I must have created 60 ads that we launched at
a low budget for DIY and we created all those ads using AI and the copy is amazing right we use it to write the the
Facebook ad copy create the images all of it and so to answer your question for me to do something like that before AI I
would have probably have to hire you remember before AI I'd have to hire graphic designers if I really wanted
good pattern interrupt imagery for my ads It would cost me $250 for 10, man. >> Now we're pumping out hundreds a day for
pennies on the dollar, man. >> I remember these days. Yeah. >> Yeah. It was like an insane, right?
Insane type of things, right? I can share my screen real quick and show you some of that stuff. Let me just give you
guys an example of this. >> Go ahead. >> Where are we? Okay, let me share my
screen. >> And this is actually related to my next question. What are you focused on right
now? So, you're focused on DIY and pattern interrupt images offers.
>> Yes. Um, I'm going to show you I I need to open up a tab here. Hold on one second.
>> Yeah. No, take your time. >> All right. Hold. So, I'm going to show you an example of some of the things
that we've done. So, this is Leonardo AI, guys. I'm in here all the time. You guys can see the screen. Ross, you see?
Okay. Can you see my screen? >> I can see your screen now. Yes. Yes. >> Okay. So, here are some of the types of
ads that we're running. Okay. So, you can see like we have a pattern interrupt here. like one bill acted like it
answered to nobody. We have a guy looking at his electric bill in this DIY power solution. And we have different
versions of these types of ads. You can see like this is a different version of it here. Like four outages in one year.
It's a different feel to that ad. >> All these ads are going live. They're active, right?
>> All of them got like four outages. >> We're actually seeing active ads for meta right now.
>> That's correct. Yep. Four four outages in one year. test going to show like active ads. So,
>> no, this is it, right? So, then you can see like we're testing them all with different headlines, right?
>> Oh, these look good. They look good. These the old ones like the vintage, >> right? And look at this one. This looks
like real, right? It's like someone took the picture of the guy out in his backyard. So, these are the types of
ads. Let's see if we can go look at this one. This guy bolted. Check it out. It's bolted to the side of the house.
>> That's pattern interrupt, guys. >> Like a flywheel. So, let's take a look at
>> All of these were done yesterday. Let's take a look at >> Okay, here's some woodworking ones that
we're running. Crooked House, Proud Kid. >> We have copy all around this type of stuff. Okay, that's being run.
Retirement needs a workbench. Yeah, all of this stuff. Okay, >> amazing. Hey, thanks for showing this.
It's >> Sure, man. >> No, no one else is going to show like
active ads, which is insane. >> Oh, here's the deal. Let me tell you something. Why do I feel comfortable
showing my stuff? By the way, I don't care, man. Do you know why? Because I'm always testing. I'm not always on one
thing. I'm always testing. And if people want to follow in my wake and copy me, that's fine. But you're never going to
catch up to me because I'm extremely creative and I'm always testing. And that that's what I think that you guys
should be doing, right? You should never In the beginning, I used to spy on other people's ads and see what they were
doing and maybe model what they were doing. But now I just like create my own stuff, dude.
And just say if it works, it works. >> Um, and uh, if you want to copy me, I don't care. Do whatever you need to do,
man. You're never good. Right. Because you want to operate under your your own creativity and not worry about it.
Really? Yeah. Awesome, bro. All right. Just to wrap it up then today, if someone listening takes one action this
week because of this conversation, what should it be? Like what is your advice for this one person to take one action
this week? >> If you're thinking about doing this, you just the biggest action you can take is
make the decision. That is the most valuable thing you can do. You have to make that decision, right? Because
that's the power. The power comes through the decision to do this. If you can commit and make that decision, then
everything else is going to follow, right? The next step will follow. So if you make a decision and you don't have a
ClickBank account yet, you got to get a ClickBank account. Then if you make a decision and you don't know how to run
Facebook ads, you want to follow this channel because we talk about this all the time. Ross talks about it all the
time, right? But you need to make that decision and follow through. And that's where it's guys. I made the decision
when I first started. I didn't know anything, man. I didn't know how to put a Facebook ad together. I didn't know
how to create an image. I didn't know how to do a landing page. I remember sweating going like, "How do I even do a
landing page? What am I doing?" I had no idea about anything. nothing, dude. But I made the decision
and it worked. I just was committed and I got it done. And that's it. That's it, right? And there was a lot of late
nights involved in here. And this is how you know that it's for you. If you're working late nights and you're like
getting these things done, that's your business, by the way. You don't mind working on it, right? You want to make
sure that every all the eyes are dotted and all the tees are crossed in your business. It's very important, right?
The only thing I can say guys is make if it's if this sounds like something for you, make the decision to either do it
or don't. But if you make the decision to do it, you have to go all in and then take that first step. Whatever that
first step is for you and accomplish that and then the next step is going to be revealed to you after you take that
first step. It's just how it works. That's how it works. >> One step at a time, huh?
>> That's it. >> One step. >> Chip away, man.
>> All right. So first step is if we have to be practical, first step is register for an affiliate account either in
ClickBank or any other affiliate network and start looking through the offers. Right? That's it.
>> Awesome. >> All right, brother. Thank you so much for being and spending time with me.
>> Appreciate it. It was a blast. Amazing. Thank you so very much. >> Awesome.
>> All right. Thanks for having me. >> Cheers. All right. Bye-bye. All right. I
Mark was running Facebook ads optimized for 'traffic,' which drove people to his site but resulted in zero sales. The fix was switching the optimization goal to 'conversions,' which trains Facebook to find users most likely to take a specific action, like buying a product. This single change led to his first sale the very next day.
Dropshipping had slow shipping times (up to six weeks from China), leading to refunds and unhappy customers. Mark needed a model that offered instant delivery and handled customer service for him. Affiliate marketing through ClickBank let him promote digital products or offers without inventory or support issues, providing a faster, more scalable path to profit.
Instead of sending traffic directly to an affiliate offer, Mark captures emails first using a lead magnet (e.g., a free PDF). He then sends subscribers a 'thank you' video that is actually the affiliate offer, followed by a sequence of emails. This builds an email list that survives even if his ad accounts are shut down, making it the backbone of his business.
Mark looks for offers with an average order value (AOV) above $50, targeted at audiences with disposable income (e.g., woodworkers, campers, pet owners). He avoids low-ticket niches like simple weight loss, which often attract customers who can't afford repeat purchases. The lead magnet must also be congruent with the backend offer to ensure relevance.
Mark was making $1,500 in profit from a $500 daily ad spend, but got greedy and increased the budget to $2,000 overnight. Facebook spent the full amount with almost no conversions, wiping out his profit. This taught him to scale slowly—letting a winning campaign stabilize at each budget level before increasing it.
First, find a high-trust offer (e.g., DIY or survival niche) with an AOV over $50. Create a lead magnet (like a PDF or checklist) that aligns with the offer. Build a simple landing page with a quiz and email capture, then run Facebook ads optimized for conversions. Use AI tools to make lead magnets quickly, and commit to seeing yourself as a top marketer before results come.
