the fibers run in different directions, which means different exercises emphasize different parts. Your chest is
responsible for pushing movements. Anytime you push something away from your body, your chest is doing a big
chunk of that work. That's why bench press, push-ups, and flies are all chest exercises. Now, here's what most people

arm look more complete and more powerful. Now, let's get into the legs, starting with the quads. Your quads are
the big muscles on the front of your thigh and they're made up of four heads. Their main job is to extend your knee,
which means straightening your leg. Squats, leg press, and lunges are your primary quad builders. The deeper you go
on these movements, the more quad activation you'll get. So if your squats are shallow, your quads are not getting
the full benefit. Go deep, control the weight, and your quads will grow. Behind the quads, you've got the hamstrings on
the back of your thigh. Your hamstrings have two main functions. They bend your knee and they extend your hip. That's
why exercises like leg curls and Romanian deadlifts, both hit the hamstrings, but in very different ways.

squats, deadlifts, lunges, and hip thrusts. Strong glutes aren't just for aesthetics, they are absolutely crucial
for athletic performance and for protecting your lower back. If your glutes are weak, your lower back ends up
picking up the slack and that's when injuries happen. So whether you care about how you look or how you perform,
train your glutes. Then we have the calves sitting on the lower part of your leg. Your calves are made up of two
muscles, the gastrocnemius, which is the bigger diamond-shaped muscle on the outside, and the soleus, which sits
underneath it. Your calves are responsible for pointing your foot downward, which is why calf raises are
pretty much the go-to exercise. The gastrocnemius is targeted more when your legs are straight, like standing calf
raises. The soleus is targeted more when your knees are bent, like seated calf raises. If you want complete calf
development, you need both. Calves are also a muscle group that responds really well to high frequency training, so
hitting them multiple times per week is a solid strategy. And finally, the abs and core. Your core is not just a
six-pack. It includes your rectus abdominis, which is the six-pack muscle, your obliques on the sides, and your
transverse abdominis, which is the deep stabilizing muscle that wraps around your midsection like a belt. Your core
is involved in basically everything you do. Every squat, every deadlift, every overhead press, your core is stabilizing
