hey everyone it's alexis and welcome back to my florist youtube channel today i'm bringing you guys another day in the life of a florist video so we're just gonna do a walkthrough of my day and that typically starts around 9 30 a.m is when the store opens during covet we did get a new cat
this is finnegan but don't worry fatness is perfectly fine living at home with my boss so before i do anything i like to work with a clean workspace so i'm just cleaning off my table from any mess from the day before i'm just going to give it a quick wipe down here
once i get situated i print the orders for the day and sort them so for breakfast i'm gonna have these hard-boiled eggs and this chocolate banana protein shake i find that this keeps me pretty full up until about lunchtime so this is the flower cooler and here i'm just going
to be picking up some blooms that i'm going to be using to make some arrangements for the day so quick little flower lesson for you all i always like to start with filling my face with water then i like to work in threes and make triangle shapes with my flowers right here i'm making a
standard flower arrangement so like an ice cream cone shaped arrangement is really the best way i can describe it to you but pretty much all the flowers come down from one top center point here are some more creations i made that day
once all the arrangements are made for the day it's time to box them up and get them ready for the delivery driver to come in addition to arranging flowers at a flower shop you also have to answer the phones and take any
orders that come through over the phone and in person now the retail flower shop that i work at does a lot of funerals this family requested a traditional style with masculine colors when making any one-sided arrangement my number one tip to you is to just group everything

the flowers are getting fresh clean water so here i'm just consolidating buckets and giving all of my flowers fresh clean water and throwing out all of the buckets that are dirty it's also part of my job to make sure that we have a lot of extra arrangements ready to go
on hand for when people walk in when the shop is slow and i'm looking for something to do a really good way to pass time is to pre-green up some vases this is going to make your life a lot easier so that way when you get orders later you can just grab an already greened up face and just
add the flowers in this is going to save you a lot of time especially during the busy holiday season after i've cleaned out the coolers and used up just about all the greens in the vases and we now need some more supplies so here i'm just ordering more flowers for the next day
now being a florist is a super messy job so typically by the end of the day i have a huge pile of debris and flower stems to clean up i put my tools away so that way the next person can find them and use them then at around five
