15 Side Hustles I've Tried That Can Replace Your Day Job

Some of these side hustles I've tried are almost unreal because one time I was literally being paid to watch TV. And

then there are more practical streams of income too, like building a brand, a clothing line, creating scalable

products and services. I have tried so many side hustle ideas that you can start today with literally no money, no

followers, and no experience. No BS. Some of these I have legitimately made at least 10 grand a month, monthto

month. So I know it's definitely possible. All I ask is that you have the curiosity to try new things and be

flexible enough to figure it out as you go. It doesn't even matter if you are employed or not or if you're a student.

In this current economy, we all have to start building financial security with whatever we got. Having true financial

freedom means not letting money dictate our life choices. Meaning, you stop even thinking about money because it's not

that important. I was so relieved to actually have some of these side hustles to fall back on when I was let go from

my dream job or what I thought was my dream job and I was there for 5 years. I was so devastated when it happened. But

it actually turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me. I have always been someone who is financially

disciplined. I have worked all kinds of gigs ever since I was old enough to work trying to make money in all kinds of

ways. And I was trying hard to really make money. And not only did these side hustles get me through my period of

unemployment, it also made me realize like, forget it. I should just do my own thing. This realization eventually

turned into an abundance manifestation engine where my financial opportunities only continued to multiply and I still

continue to get random checks in the mail today. I'm actually so excited to share this with you. And I'm not saying

that these side hustles are guaranteed to replace your day job, but when life happens, having another source of income

or building these money-making skills to fall back on is going to be so incredibly valuable. And who knows, some

of these might actually take off for you and change your life. You never know what can happen, and that's the magic.

These possibilities are all out there if only you're willing to give it a shot. Everything that I mention in this video

get into it. So before I jump into the full list of side hustles, I need to reframe how you think about making

money. Because the concept of making money isn't just about one thing, it's actually four completely different

activities and most people only think about one or two of them. Number one is build. This means we're starting

something that generates revenue on its own, whether it's a product, a brand, or a business. Number two, earn. This means

we're trading our time or our skills for payments, hours for dollars. Number three is convert. This means we're

turning things that you already own into cash. We're reselling, flipping, liquidating things that are already just

sitting there. And number four is claim. This means we're collecting money that you're legitimately owed. Settlements,

refunds, getting paid for your opinions. So in this graph here, on one axis you have offline versus online. On the other

you have timebased versus scalable. Timebased means when you stop, the money also stops. And scalable means you build

it once and it will continue to keep paying you. Let's go through all of them. So when we talk about claiming

money that's already yours, this is the category that sounds almost too good to be true, but it is not. Which is why

this is the first. This is money that already belongs to you and you just haven't collected it yet. So let's talk

about paid focus groups. Think of this as your revenge on capitalism for making you consume products. Some of these

corporations have spent billions of dollars getting you to buy their stuff. Now, they'll pay you to tell you what

you really think of them. I used to get paid anywhere from 75 to $500 per session, usually about an hour to an

hour and a half to sit down with these billion-dollar companies and tell them my honest opinions about their products

and how they can do better. And they do want your truth. Even if you hate it, they want to hear about it. So, if you

become part of a focus group, unleash your honesty. Tell them everything because they're not paying you to be

nice and beat around the bush. I have been paid by brands like the one that made your phone and a few of the social

media platforms that you're on every single day as a consumer. You don't need a degree. You don't need a following as

long as you're someone who uses these products, which is literally everyone watching this video. This was one of the

ways that I made money when I was in college and I couldn't afford to not make money. And when I was unemployed,

this was one of the first things that I turned to. Focus groups and research studies. They really floated me about a

couple grand a month where I take about 10 minutes a day to apply to these focus groups. And it's not just product

feedback. Universities, research organizations, and companies recruit participants for paid research studies,

surveys, interviews, and experiments. Some of these can be done completely online from your couch. Others, if you

really actually need it, like for example, if you're the perfect candidate for a new type of medication, you might

need this. And they need people to test it out as well. They're also user testing platforms where you get paid to

test websites and apps and prototypes and then they want you to explain your real-time experience as you use it. You

don't need to be techsavvy at all. Most of the time they really just want a regular person. So you just need to talk

through your process. Here's how you can get started. Sign up for platforms like respond.io, user interviews, fieldwork,

dcout, which was huge for me, and user testing. There are also even entertainmentbased focus groups out

there specifically where you can get paid to watch TV shows and evaluate content and give your opinions on

streaming platforms. That's how people are literally getting paid to watch TV. The range of all of these things depends

on the length of the topic, but anywhere between $75 and $500 per session is normal. Now, let's talk about class

action settlements. I love this one. Now, this is money that you're legitimately entitled to if you are

eligible. And I want to emphasize, most of the time you do have to provide proof that you were affected or show purchase

receipts. So, if you want to talk about manifesting money though out of the blue, this is a big one. No joke. I

started doing this a few years ago and I'm still collecting checks in the mail today because some of these settlements

can take a while to settle. The last one I got was for $3,000 and I just fill out a form and that was it. But I'm just

saying this because the amount of money that you can earn can range from anywhere between like 50 cents to

thousands. We use so many products every day and some of them may have actually caused you harm or you were wrongfully

charged or something was mishandled like your data for example, which happens all the time unfortunately. So there may be

active settlements right now that you didn't even know about that you're eligible for. Like I've collected

thousands from an ATM settlement where they wrongfully charged me extra fees every time I withdrew money. I had one

where my bank savings account wasn't giving me what I was actually supposed to receive and they had to pay everybody

back the discrepancy as part of the settlement. There was also one for a vape brand a couple years ago where

everyone who was a customer and signed up for that form got about two grand. The thing though is if you don't know

about this and you don't claim the money, you won't get it. And most people don't know. And because I do have to

report taxes on this, I told my tax accountant and he was laughing and he was like, "Yeah, I have had clients who

were unemployed as well and they did settlements plus the focus groups for a while and they were making money doing

exactly this. This is another form of revenge on capitalism. They profited off of you and now you get paid. So go and

get your money back. You can find out if you're eligible through sites like topclassactions.com

and classaction.org. There are even subreddits dedicated to tracking these active settlements so you can look

through them and see if you are eligible for it. Now, let's talk about converting and turning what you have into cash.

This is where you take things that you already own or things you can find for cheap and turn it into money. Number

one, reselling what you already own. You can start by selling clothes and accessories that's just sitting in your

closet collecting dust. And this is $0 for you to start. You can sign up for an account on eBay, Dep Depot, Poshmark,

even Facebook Marketplace. Once you know what sells, you can then move from clearing your own closet to actually

intentionally sourcing pieces if this is something that you're interested in. This is literally how vintage boutiques

work, for example. They're just very good at sourcing a curation of clothing. Number two is arbitrage. And this is

where the math starts really mathing and it gets fun. So, let's say you made your first $100 from focus groups or whatever

and you're willing to reinvest that money back into yourself. You go to Marshalls or TJ Maxx or another kind of

design outlet store near you and you find products on clearance, for example, for 95% off retail. Then you go on eBay

and you check how much these products are selling for. Most of the time they're maybe going for about 30% below

retail. So, if you just bought something at 5% of the cost and now you're selling it at 70% off retail, when it does sell,

you just multiply your money by six times. Now, I will say that some aspects of arbitrage can be controversial. For

example, I don't support practices like ticket sculping or anything that's predatory. But taste curation, knowing

what's valuable and finding it before other people do, that's a real skill and a talent and you can get paid well for

it. This can even become a real career path. For example, you can be a vintage curator for a shop or an archive fashion

buyer. So, now we're on the topic. Let's look at vintage curation. It all connects to something that I personally

love. I love collecting vintage bantes from the 80s and '9s. Some of these shirts can go for hundreds, if not a

couple grand. So, if you know a thing or two about a genre, a niche, or any type of vintage or collectible, and you know

how to spot one at a thrift store like Salvation Army, for example, you can make a couple grand just like that. The

same goes for other collectibles like Pokemon cards, baseball cards, anything that's worth collecting. And if you go a

bit further, you can even build a recognizable shop around a specific aesthetic or an era or maybe even a

designer category. And that's when reselling can become a brand. And now flipping is when you buy something

that's beat up at a thrift shop, you restore it, then sell it for five times of what you paid. Whether that's

furniture, electronics, or any kind of marketplace finds, used vintage cars, eventually maybe even houses. People

always love a good before and after. That's why there's so many TV shows about flipping houses. And not everyone

has the time to do this themselves or necessarily even the interest to do it. And people will pay the difference to

have you do it for them. Now, if you can bake or cook, you can start selling on Facebook Marketplace. It cost you

nothing to set this up. And I've seen people build real local followings this way. Same thing goes for art, jewelry,

handmade goods. Some people also get their start at local artist markets and craft fairs and then they end up on Etsy

making hundreds of thousands a year. Now, let's talk about the earn category. Trading your time and skills. This is

the most straightforward part. We're all very familiar with it. You show up, you do the work, you get paid. There is a

spectrum here from pure timebased to skill-based. And the more experience and skills you collect and as you build your

portfolio, the more your hourly rate can increase. So for ways to make money offline, you can look at the gig

economy. Uber Eats, Door Dash, Instacart, Uber. All you have to do is download the app, sign up, and start

making money. So the barrier to entry is basically zero. Now, mystery shopping, and this one is underrated, and it's

quite similar to the focus groups. Actually, companies like Walmart, for example, will assign you a scenario

where you go into one or the stores, let's say 5 minutes before they close, and you're looking for something. You're

basically evaluating how helpful their staff is. You can make something like $100 per task, and you can knock it out

in an hour or two, maybe even while you're shopping. Then there's event staffing. A lot of events happen on

weekends and in the evening. So, this is perfect if you have a regular 9 to5 or if you're a student. Events always need

extra hands to show up and help the attendees, give directions. Basically, you're there to make sure that

everything runs smoothly. You can find event staffing companies in your area and apply to it and just let them know

that you're available. And then there's service- based work like dock walking, pet sitting, babysitting, personal

training, nail design, personal chef, housekeeping. You can provide a youthful service for someone in person. Then

there is absolutely a market for it. And apps like Rover, Care.com, and Wag make it very easy for you to get started.

Now, let's talk about photography and videography because content creators like me or anyone with an Instagram

account or professional website that you're trying to grow, they're going to want nice head shot and they're going to

want content. Not everyone can take photos of themselves or shoot this content themselves. So, they need

someone to shoot it for them. If you're interested in this work and you're decent with a camera, even if it's just

your phone camera, like if it's a Tik Tok video or something, you can start offering this as a service, especially

if you're good at it. And even better if you have a portfolio. Now, we move online where you can have things like

location freedom, for example. You're still trading time for money, but the hourly rate keeps going up because

you're building actual skills. First, let's talk about video editing. YouTubers like myself, we need editors,

too. I can't do everything by myself. Many creators do, but most of us cannot. If you're willing to learn or if you

have some experience in it, even if it's a K-pop fan cam edit on Capkot, there are free tutorials everywhere so you can

get started and reaching out to small creators and offering your services. If you have absolutely no experience, you

can even start cheap or even free to build your portfolio of work, then raise your rates as you get better. Thumbnail

design, literally same idea. Every YouTube video needs a thumbnail, every single one. So, if you can learn

Photoshop or even Canva, you can start designing thumbnails for creators. Social media management. This is a big

one. Content creators like me, at a certain level, your channel becomes a content business. I might need employees

to help me manage things. I can't do everything alone. Every brand has at least a social media manager these days

or even a huge social media department. They might even have community managers and people to handle scheduling and

engagement. That's a real job that you can do from your laptop from anywhere. Copywriting and script writing. If you

are a good writer, you can help creators and businesses with their scripts, their newsletters, their website copy, their

social media copy. There are many creators out there looking for exactly this type of person to help them write

because not everyone's a great writer or has the time to do research, especially if they're busy running a content

business. Canva and notion templates. If you know how to use Canva, great. If you don't know how to use Canva and you're

willing to learn, that alone opens up a whole world of possibilities. You can make Canva templates. You can make

notion templates and then you can sell them online on the marketplaces. A lot of people also sell them on Etsy. Which

brings us to digital products which I will get to shortly. Astrology and tarot readings. And I love this one because I

also have people in my Discord community offering this. They know a lot about the subject and then they turn it into paid

services doing readings for people. So whatever you're very passionate about or even have niche knowledge on is more

valuable than you think and people may really want to have a piece of your knowledge. Creator partnerships. Now I

know this one's very interesting. If you have a bit of a selling bone in your body and you can promote and close

deals, that's a highly valuable skill. You can find creators and help them close brand deals, for example. And if

you want to focus on, let's say, like high ticket products in general, that's great, too. So, when it comes to

creative brand deals, a 20% commission is quite normal. And this can end up turning into a lot just for sending

emails and becoming good at negotiating. Eventually, you may even become a talent manager of sort. Then, you can start

working with small creators who don't have a talent manager yet. Now, building and creating something from $0 with no

ceiling. This is my favorite part and this is what we're working towards because I'm about to give you a

marketing masterass with no budget and no ceiling on how much you can make. Everything that we have talked about in

claim and convert and earn what's the fuel to help us eventually build businesses such as this. You basically

create this wand and it keeps paying you. If you don't want to flip other people's products or trade your time,

you can create your own product or better yet create a brand. When I say build, it means something that generates

revenue on its own, whether it's a product, a brand, a business. And I'm going to show you exactly how to do that

with no dollars, no inventory, no experience at all. And I know this because I used to work at an e-commerce

company many years ago back when blogging was everywhere. It was basically a blog with a store attached

to it. Let me tell you, some of the t-shirt brands on that platform were the best sellers. Some of these bestsellers

were super simple designs and the average brands on there were making about half a million dollars a month on

that e-commerce platform alone. And I had the numbers. I was looking at it and the top brands were making millions.

This was a pretty niche website with maybe 10 or 20 t-shirt brands on it. It's not some massive marketplace. So if

you go on a niche e-commerce site like Hot Topic for example, I can almost guarantee you their top sellers are

t-shirts. That also doesn't mean that t-shirts are saturated. People are always going to wear clothes. Most

people don't even overthink how they dress, so they just wear t-shirts. I love a good t-shirt and we all want to

express ourselves in some way. And what better way to wrap our interest through what we wear. So whether you're

reselling vintage or creating your own designs or if you have a band and you want to make your own merch because I

also used to be a music promoter. So I know firsthand that merch is one of the biggest drivers of income for music

artists. We are looking at some real money in the space. With a platform like Principy, you're basically starting off

with no budget, no inventory, and no risk involved. You're not going to be paying for anything until someone's

already bought that item. And it's not just t-shirts. They have over 1,300 products in their catalog. Mugs, home

six week shipping times and it all connects directly to Etsy, Shopify, Tik Tok shop and more. And as you scale,

kind of brand at all selling products and you don't want to put in any kind of upfront money, which usually you do need

to put in a lot of money to even buy the products and you can't even guarantee that you'll make money until something

pretty limiting and clunky compared to Printify. But now, you know, in fact, I've actually found some less expensive

alternatives for the same blank brands that I use. If I can even lower my own production costs, this can actually let

me lower my prices, improve my margins, and maybe even do both. In fact, I am going to migrate my merch over to

Printify, and that's one of my upcoming projects, actually. So, let me show you how simple this actually is to start.

Step one, you pick a niche. Research whatever is trending on Etsy. You can even use a tool like E-rank or just

browse manually. I recommend selecting a niche that you're already interested in and you know other people are interested

in it too. For example, pink pilates princess or sassy YTK girly or herbal tea enthusiast. I'm just throwing out

some ideas. Step two, go to Printify and you can use my link in the description to sign up for an account right now and

pick your products and drag and drop your design onto it. You can start making these designs in Canva on

Photoshop if you don't know how to use that. Maybe you can use AI if you're open to it or hire someone on Fiverr to

make that design for you if you have the budget for it. But really, it doesn't have to be complicated at all. You can

even make one on their website directly. For example, sassy white 2K girly t-shirts can be like a slogan with a

nice font. I can, for example, remake that Paris Hilton t-shirt that says, "Stop being poor." And because I want to

make an original, maybe I can say manifesting abundance. If you want to be ironic and unbothered about it, you can

even make it in comic sense font. Like, see, you can get creative as long as you're not infringing on anyone's

copyright or copying other people's designs. So, make sure to make your own thing. That's honestly the best way to

build a brand. You don't need to become Michelangelo to make a t-shirt design. All you need is some creativity. Step

three, connect your Printify account to Etsy or Shopify or Tik Tok shop and publish your product and you're alive.

Now, every time someone buys, Printify will print it and package it and ship it directly to your customer and you keep

the profit. Guys, seriously, the more you learn about the supply chain, you're going to understand how huge that is.

The fact that you don't need any kind of upfront cost when it comes to the shipping, the fulfillment, the

warehouse, the inventory, it's massive. And when you do make money, that's like guaranteed money. That's profit for you.

Now when I say no following is required, I really mean this. You got to optimize your product listing though the keywords

for SEO, search engine optimization. Basically this means when people want to search for a product like yours, what

will they search for in the search bar and how will they get to their website? It's almost like reverse psychology and

a great skill to learn as well for marketing in general. What's really going to help you though is if you

clearly define your niche and the audience that you're trying to reach. For example, you can market to college

age women who are also skincare enthusiasts. So, what can you do with that? You can maybe make t-shirts that

say K beauty obsessed or ask me about my war with acne I won. If you have a pink Pilates brand, maybe you can even make

Pilates socks. So, look at some of these viral t-shirt designs out there and then make your own version of your own ironic

shirts. And even better if you are your own dream audience because you already know what people want because you want

it as well. So how do you market your new shop with no following? So let's say I made a new shop on Etsy and I call my

brand Y2K Pilates Princess. Here are a few ways to do that. Number one, Pinterest. All you need is a Pinterest

account. Whether you're pinning your own actual designs or making similar content to your niche, for example, skincare

tips for your audience or glass skin memes or sassy manifestation quotes. within those pins. Sometimes you can

even repin existing pins and then say in the caption, "If you really want to rap this lifestyle, shop Whites Pilates

Princess." Your shirt can even become a meme on its own. Pinterest is incredible for search engine optimization and

boosting traffic to your website. It doesn't rely on having a following at all. Anyone's pins can randomly go viral

at any moment. The thing about Pinterest is the halflife is also really long. Halfline means unlike Tik Tok where a

video dies down after two days, people will continue to discover your pins for months and months after you post it,

maybe even years. Your shirt can even become a meme of its own. Pinterest is just really incredible for SEO. It

doesn't rely on having a following at all. Now, next, let's talk about Reddit and Discord. There are specific

subreddits for every niche of audience imaginable and you can study the people that you're trying to reach and then

contribute to these communities authentically I might add. For example, if you want to start a hobby related

apparel brand like bird watching, you can go onto the bird watching subreddits. I'm sure there's multiple of

them. Become an active contributor and down the line maybe even post a photo of yourself or someone you know wearing

your merch while you're bird watching. Now, I emphasize that your interactions should be genuine and valuable because

people can really tell when you're only there to promote your brand. But if you're offering value to the community

and you're even becoming a part of them now, naturally, people will not mind if you also have a business related to that

topic because you're already so passionate about it. So, of course, you're going to be having a career

that's also representative of your passions. Now, let's talk about social media. Even though I said no following

is required, it is still a good idea to start building a social media presence. Everything is so algorithm based these

days and it's easier than ever before to get picked up by the algorithm if you can clearly define your niche, your

content, and interact the right way. For example, if you want to make a clothing brand for hikers, then engage with

hiking accounts. Comment, follow, make your own hiking related content. Link your shop to your profile. With

Principile, you can easily do that even if it's just dropping a link in bio or dropping a link in your stories and then

you can build your social media presence which will turn into your marketing engine. Again, you never know when the

post might really take off and go super viral and that will kickstart your brand. There is truly no ceiling and no

cap on where this can go. You can start off as a side hustle and then eventually it can become a whole brand, a whole

company, a whole universe. You can make socks for tennis players, safari hats for bird watchers, jewelry brands,

bracelets, home decor for dog lovers. You just have to get creative. Eventually, you can turn this into a

real thing. And I've seen so many stores on Etsy making hundreds of thousands of dollars a year, literally from print on

demand to the point where it can become a family business or they have employees helping them out. And it can all start

with a two-word slogan t-shirt that you make on Printify. Now, affiliate marketing is also another great way to

make money. If you have a product already lying around somewhere and it's part of an affiliate marketing program,

you can start sharing your affiliate links and recommending the product to people. So, you can make reviews, share

your honest experience. And think about platforms where you may not need a following to do that and hit the

algorithm. Tik Tok, Pinterest, Threads, Reddit, these are all places where the algorithm decides what can get seen and

it has nothing to do with your following count. You can post a product review on Tik Tok with no followers and you can

still reach like a 100 thousand people if the algorithm picks it up. There are some websites like Amazon with a huge

affiliate program and that's also another topic entirely. But if you want to take for example your Printify

e-commerce empire to next level, you can start your own affiliate program where anyone who helps you promote your Y2K

Pilates Princess brand can get a cut of the profits. For example, let's say they can get a 10% off discount if they share

the code and you give them 10% commission. That's 20% off the cut for you, but you're getting extra sales and

people are helping you do the marketing for you. It's freaking genius. You can tie this brand idea to a lot of these

side hustles I'm talking about in this video. And then another thing that's getting very popular is monetizing

Substack and newsletters. If you're sitting there thinking, well, I'm not a content creator. I don't really want to

be on camera. And you know, it doesn't even have to be social media related. If you have a voice that you want to share

and if there's a niche community that you're really into and you have your own ideas and opinions and you're a good

writer, get on Substack and build a newsletter. People might want to support you purely for your perspective alone.

You don't even need a following or an existing platform. You just need an opinion that you can endlessly yap about

and I bet you there's people out there who want to hear it. And the thing about Substack and why it's so popular is that

it's discovery based. Like people will find you on the platform regardless of, you know, any other kind of marketing

that you do. they will find you organically. Another thing is content creation and UGC. Like yes, you can

still make content in even with no following and make money doing it. I'm living proof that this worked out really

well because I truly started like my social media channels with no following. But content creation, especially when it

comes to influencing, is really playing the long game. It is truly the most rewarding thing I've ever done. But it

does take a lot of consistency and a lot of uncertainty because not everyone can grow a following from zero to 100,000 in

6 months, for example. But if you start today, you're building towards something and everything else in this video can

fund you as you build. Now you if you don't want to build a platform, which is also like fair enough because nothing is

guaranteed, right? But what is guaranteed though is UGC brands need content and they want content from real

people and they will pay creators to make it for them. This can mean creating content for their products which they

might use to run ads with or they use your content to post on their socials or on their website. So, if you can build

these brand relationships, they might just keep offering you work. And this can even be like 10 videos a month for

like, let's say, an at leisure fashion company, for example. And everything that you make can also go into your UGC

portfolio as you build. You can also license your content to these brands. Like, don't just let brands use your

content forever for free. Every month, agree on a licensing fee. And if they want to renew it and use it for a year,

agree on extending this licensing fee for a year. So, as long as a brand continues to use your content, you are

constantly getting paid for this. You can make serious money doing this because I do it myself. And there are

just a ton a whole plethora of UGC content creator type like influencing websites that you can hop on where you

can start like getting stuff for free. And brands will call that gifting. Now, I have built what I call a money

manifestation engine. And they say that the average millionaire has at least seven streams of income. So what this

means is when you have several potential channels for money to flow through, even if it's small ones, your brain will

start to see more of these types of financial opportunities everywhere. That's abundance mindset in practical

action. You start expecting money to show up. And when it works, it really works. You may get mysterious checks in

the mail or someone randomly buys a big order on your e-commerce site. That is what happens when you build that engine

two, if you want to make money from skills that you're building right now, pick something from the earn category.

Whether it's video editing or social media management, tarot readings, whatever speaks to you, your rate can

only increase with your level experience. These are real money-making skills. Number three, if you want money

that's literally owed to you and you're entitled to, check if you're eligible for class action settlements. This is

money that you just need to claim as a byproduct of capitalism because if you don't claim it, you won't get it. So you

just have to tell them where to send the check. My advice is don't just pick one thing because the more channels to
