This video reveals the predictable SSC GS template for 2026 exams and is a must-watch for aspirants of CGL, CHSL, MTS, CPO, and Tier 2 exams. The analysis is based on reported questions from CGL Tier 1 2026 papers and Selection Phase 14.
Key Trend: Static GK Rules Over Current Affairs
The 2026 pattern shows a significant shift. Static GK has more weightage than pure current affairs. Direct current affairs questions are limited to 1-2 per shift.
Highest Weightage Subjects
- Current Affairs & Static GK - the highest weightage area

Hello and welcome to Siddhi. A very happy Navratri to every one of you. Currently, CGL Tier 1 2026 is going on
and in GS papers of CGL, there is a very interesting predictable pattern that is there. And surprisingly, the same
pattern is found across all the papers of Selection Phase 14 also in the GS sections. And this video is exactly to
talk about the SSC GS template that is being followed in the 2026 papers. That is the hot topics of GS that has asked
in CGL papers of 2026. And this is extremely useful and very important if you're giving CHSL, MTS, CPO or Tier 2
of any of the SSC exams of 2026. And if you're preparing for 2027, you need to know these topics so that
you know which subject to focus upon and when you're completing the subject, which topics you should prepare very
thoroughly. But before getting into the topic, at Siddhi, we have a Navratri sale that is coming up. And this
Navratri sale is going to start from 17th of October and it will continue till 21st of October. And at Siddhi, we
have a beautiful flagship program called BrahMos which is a one-stop solution for all SSC aspirants. And as a part of
BrahMos, you will get your weekly schedules and weekly targets and a weekend exam based on all these targets.
And this will complete your entire syllabus of maths, English and GS. And as a part of this Navratri sale, this
BrahMos is available just for rupees 2,799. And this has a 18-month validity. And
BrahMos is that one missile that you need to crack SSC cycle of 2027 in 1 year.
Now, let's get into the hot topics. First things first, of all the subjects, the highest weightage is for quality
articles, the questions of the case studies of BNS, BNSS, and BSA. Then, the next weightage is for economy.
The next weightage is for sports rules, and then static GK. All in all, rather than GS, static GK has more number of
questions and more weightage. And one very interesting thing that you have to know is there is a drastic drop-down
with respect to current affairs. Direct current affairs questions in the shifts are less than one to two questions. More
or less, current affairs is included in static GK itself. For example, in topics such as reports and indices,
appointments, etc. Rather than this, direct current affairs questions are very minimal.
Now, let's get into each of the subjects and understand what are the hot topics in each of the subjects. And the first
thing that I'm going to talk is current affairs and static GK itself because that has the highest weightage. In the
current affairs part, highest weightage or the first thing, the hero part is appointments. And in appointments,
specifically, latest appointments with respect to constitutional bodies and central armed police forces. For
example, DGs of BSF, ITBP, RAF, etc. The central armed police forces or the defense forces appointments such as
chief of naval staff, etc. These are the types of questions that they're asking in appointments. Then, you have
questions on reports and indices. Especially, there is a high focus on HDI, AQI, innovation index, and forest
report also. These are reports and indices. Then, good questions on international groupings. International
groupings questions are analytical in nature. So, even if you don't know the question, take a look at the options
very carefully. 90% chances are you will be able to handle those questions with your common sense. And the next topic
that is there under focus is books and authors. In books and authors, there are two things that I want to tell you.
First thing is those people who got Booker Prizes and International Booker Prize, the books that are shortlisted to
this, and the English authors of Indians, that is Indian authors who write English novels. This is where
they're asking you questions from in books and authors. And in awards, there is one question
which is there more or less in every damn shift. That is Sahitya Akademi Awards. And within Sahitya Akademi
Awards also, the famous hot trending pair type of a question is they will give you a book and they will ask you
who is the author or what is the language of this book, match the following type of questions, etc. So,
Sahitya Akademi Awards is one trending topic and this will continue to trend even in your CHSL, MTS, CPO, or in your
upcoming Tier 2 exams. And the next chapter, the next subject is government schemes and then sports rules. In sports
rules, focus is on chess, athletics, tennis, kabaddi. These are the traditional ones, but in the recent
shifts, the games sports such as water polo, baseball, American football, and golf, these are coming into the trend in
the latest shifts. So, in the upcoming shifts or in the future examinations, you can see these games as well.
Similarly, in sports events, person personalities is getting more priority compared to the current affairs.
Primarily, they're focusing on the questions with respect to the Olympic history, Commonwealth Games history,
older questions such as 2010 Commonwealth Games, first games, first women, first Paralympics, first
athletes. These are the types of questions where you have more focus rather than pure current affairs based
questions. Next subject is polity. In almost all the shifts, there are good
number of polity questions. And of polity questions, minimum one to two questions is based on BNS BNS as BSA
case studies. And the highly likely chances is you can solve this question with the help of common sense. So, you
don't have to worry about it. By the way, in this video, I'm going to give you one very good PDF and you solve that
PDF, I'm sure you'll be able to handle all these questions effectively. Now, the next thing is Supreme Court and High
Court. Center state relations, there are good focus on article numbers. Then the traditional topics such as panchayat
raj, constitutional bodies, fundamental rights, and all these things. More or less, polity is from the regular topics,
article numbers, etc. There is nothing new that is being brewed with respect to polity. And the next subject is
science. Science is a hero star subject of the cycle of 2026. In 2025, there were very very less number of questions
from science. But this year, science is back into trend. And in science, biology has
higher questions followed by physics. Then there is a new entrant, a new personality, which is biotechnology,
followed by least number of questions from chemistry. And in biology, DNA has the highest weightage. Biology plus
biotechnology, DNA, vaccine making, RNA, recombinant vaccines, all these kind of things. Then hormones and purposes,
glands that secrete the hormones, vitamins and the corresponding deficiency diseases, and the purpose of
the functionality of the vitamins, cell division, cell organelles. This is going on with respect to biology. And
when it comes to physics, one thing that you must know, that you must note, is they're asking you problems. They're
asking you numerical questions, especially from either optics, electricity, energy, work, joules, that
concepts, and there are objective questions from humans and diamonds and chapter. So, if you have to revise the
physics, make sure you solve numerical questions also, not just the one liners. And the next subject that I want you to
know is about history. With respect to history, it is very interesting. Look, history is a vast
subject, but luckily, in these exams, they're following certain topics and certain specific trends. First thing,
modern history has more weight than ancient medieval, very fundamental thing. And in modern history, 75%
of the questions are from administrative reforms and acts. For example, regulating act, charter act, Pitt's
India Act, Minto-Morley reforms, Montagu-Chelmsford reforms. From the administrative reforms and acts such as,
for example, Arms Act, Press Act, these kind of acts and commissions, reforms, Wood's dispatch, Hunter Commission,
these kind of things, 75% of the questions are there. The rest of the questions, there is one
very interesting pattern. The pattern is importance to women heroes and the women, rather than men revolutionaries,
men who participated, men freedom fighters, the questions are focused on women freedom fighters, women
revolutionaries, and women who [clears throat] participated in various things. Then there are questions from
Gandhian Satyagrahas and the reforms and certain committees. This is where modern history is being asked from. So, all in
all, modern history is more or less from the periods of 1857 onwards. And then medieval history. Once you come
to medieval history, the analytical style of questioning changes and there in medieval history you have more or
less chronology based questions. Which sultan came first? Which sultan ruled Delhi? Who was not there? When was this?
So, those are kind of questions, the founders of dynasties, chronologies, battles, etc. And in medieval history
they're asking you terminologies with respect to revenue reforms and market reforms. And last thing you need to
know, Bhakti movement, no doubt about it. And in ancient history, one chapter that is getting very, very important
prominence is with respect to the prehistoric sites. They're asking you the findings of prehistoric sites and
not just Indus Valley Civilization. In the previous exams earlier, usually the focus was on Indus Valley Civilization
itself, but now in 2026 papers, there is good focus on prehistoric sites also. Then, rather than the dynasties such as
Mahajanapadas, Mauryans, etc., there is more focus which is being given to South Indian dynasties, for example, Pallavas,
Cholas, Imperial Cholas, the South Indian dynasties. And the second half of the ancient history, that is from Gupta
period, Gupta, post-Gupta, Harshavardhana, Pallavas, Chalukyas. This is where they're asking questions
from after ancient history. So, all in all, these are the most important hot topics. And then, economy, you guys
already know we have been studying these things very, very well in Astra and Kavach. And I'm extremely happy to say
that the students have followed Astra and Kavach are able to handle 20 plus questions because all these topics that
we have discussed till now, we covered in Astra and Kavach. And in Astra, the first subject that I've picked up is
economy, in which you have covered all these things: LPG reforms, five-year planning, money banking, all these
chapters, the same things, direct questions are being asked from Astra notes and Kavach notes. Then you have
geography. Within geography, it is census, population theory, monsoon. Monsoon, in the last part of the
one-shot classes, I told you this time it is a bad monsoon year. So, you will have questions from El Nino, La Nina,
Indian Ocean dipole, etc. And the glad part is there are questions from this. Then you have crops and agriculture,
minerals, Himalayan mountains, etc. This is where they're asking questions from in geography. And the last topic that I
want to talk to you about is the art and culture part of your syllabus. This is the difficult part of the syllabus
because there is no limit to this. And interestingly, there are questions from art and culture, in which higher
priority is being given to festivals and fairs, followed by folk dances, and then is the classical dance and music. But
for this, I would still strongly suggest only one thing, that is stick to everything that is asked in PYQs. This
is more than enough. If you can remember all the PYQs, you are doing an amazing job. You don't have to study anything
more than that because it is not even practically possible. So, all in all, these are the hero topics, and if you
have exams going ahead, the one-stop solution that I'm going to still suggest is GS Astra and Kavach.
But GS Astra and Kavach are based on the 2025 papers. What about 2026 papers? So, to cover the topics that are being asked
in 2026 papers, and to help you revise the entire syllabus very effectively, as a part of this Navratri sale, we are
coming up with a GS crash course. And this GS crash course is available just for rupees 299 and has a validity of 6
months. And this 299 is only during the Navratri sale. And along with the GS crash course, to address the difficulty
with respect to the computers, in this Navratri sale, we are also bringing up a computer course. And this computer
course will cover everything that is needed for the computer sections, for not just SSC exams, but also RRB exams.
And the GS crash course, along with the computer crash course, is a combo which is available for 579 only and will also
have a validity for a period of 6 months. And now is the time for me to show you the PDF. This is a PDF that I'm
talking about. Till now, we spoke of the weightages, important topics, and the subtopics also. And this is a PDF that
is absolutely useful and in fact rather necessary for you to master all those topics. So, what we have done in this
PDF is we have analyzed all the questions that are being reported in the CGL Tier 1 2026, and we have segregated
them topic-wise and subtopic-wise, and we have picked up the questions that are asked in Steno and Selection Phase
original papers, which are matching from the topics that are trending in the CGL papers, and we have compiled this entire
PDF. In fact, we have released a similar PDF with respect to maths trending topics also yesterday. See, these PDFs
are the last-minute revision booster topics because these are being prepared after analyzing all the question papers,
and if you can practice these PDFs, these will act as your last-minute revision activities, and these will
boost your scores. So, if you don't want to miss all these kind of PDFs and the perfect analysis, do subscribe to Siddhi
Prep and hit that bloody bell icon. And this PDF is available only on Siddhi Prep's Telegram channel. So, all you
have to do is download the PDF and you start practicing. Last year, despite scoring 340, 345, in
fact, 352 out of 390 in Tier 2, there are some students who could not get selection because they could not qualify
in computers. In fact, our own Siddhi team has got two such people. So, this year, to avoid such problem and to
ensure that computers will not act as a roadblock for your final selection, we are coming up with one strategy for
computers where we will talk about those few topics which, if you can learn properly, that is more than enough for
you to qualify in the computers. And that will be the next video. So, till then, a very happy Navratri and I'll see
you in the next video of computers. Siddhi to Sadhita.
