Introduction
The announcement of the new name for the game New World has stirred a wave of reactions within the gaming community, particularly among PC players. Following a recent Twitch stream reaction, it’s becoming clear that many players are feeling disillusioned due to a perceived lack of new content and clarity regarding the updates. While the arrival of New World on console is exciting, it appears that the excitement is overshadowed by concerns from veteran PC gamers about the direction of the game and their place in it.
Community Sentiments
Initial Reactions
The New World announcement was received with mixed emotions. While players are thrilled for console gamers to join the community, there is frustration over the neglect of long-time PC players. Key concerns include:
- Lack of new content revealed
- Focus on console-related updates
- Feelings of disrespect toward veteran players
These sentiments were echoed during the announcement and showcased through various community discussions online.
Why Are PC Players Upset?
The core of the dissatisfaction among the PC player base stems from a few critical areas:
- Expectation vs. Reality: Many players anticipated substantial new content after months of waiting, only to find minimal revelations—mostly reiterating existing features or confirming items already known.
- Communication Breakdown: The community craves a detailed breakdown of what’s new. The recent video failed to deliver engaging insights into upcoming expansions and improvements and was perceived as being tailored primarily for console gamers.
- Delayed Gratification: Having waited six months for announcements, players are feeling underwhelmed at receiving only snippets of information when they expected a comprehensive rollout.
What’s New in New World?
Despite the grievances, several key features have been hinted at in the announcement. It’s essential to review the specifics that have been confirmed:
1. PVP Island
A highly anticipated addition is the PVP Island. This will feature:
- Engaging combat experiences
- A vendor system where players can use a new in-game currency earned through participating in PVP activities.
- Opportunities to earn rewards that will incentivize player participation.
2. Three-Boss Raids
Another major highlight is the introduction of three boss raids that promise to add depth and challenge to the gameplay. Key details include:
- Existing raid content will be enhanced with upgrades to gear scores.
- A focus on varied boss mechanics to keep encounters engaging.
3. Character Customization Enhancements
To address community feedback on character diversity, a barber shop feature will be introduced, allowing:
- New hairstyles for character archetypes
- Customizations aimed at improving player satisfaction with their in-game representations.
4. Swimming Mechanic
Swimming has also been confirmed. Players are theorizing:
- It might integrate a trade skill system, similar to prior game mechanics.
- Potential for exploration and additional environmental engagement.
5. Gear Score Adjustments
The announcement hinted at a gear score increase to 725. Improvements to weapon performance and character builds are expected to promote vertical progression, enhancing the experience for returning players.
The Need for a Clear Roadmap
The greatest frustration among the community points to the absence of a clear roadmap detailing future content. Players are requesting:
- A visual representation of features in development
- Comprehensive information regarding content and mechanics being introduced This would greatly help alleviate confusion and build excitement for future updates.
Upcoming Q&A Session
To address the concerns aired by the community, the team will host a Q&A session. This is seen as an essential opportunity to:
- Clarify confusion regarding the upcoming features
- Engage directly with community concerns and feedback
- Offer insight into what players can really expect moving forward
Conclusion
While the excitement around New World's journey to console players marks a significant milestone, it’s clear that the PC player base is yearning for more substantial content and clearer communication regarding the game’s future. The anticipation stemming from the upcoming announcement needs to reflect a respect for the veteran players who have supported the game since launch. Only through engagement and clear information can the developers rekindle the confidence of the community and ensure a smooth transition into the next chapter of New World. The hope remains that the forthcoming Q&A will shed light on what’s really in store, answering pressing questions and fulfilling the community’s desire for depth and engagement in the game.
I'm making this video to cover sort of the recent announcement of New World the tum the new name for the game along with
all the rumored stuff that is coming now I did a reaction on Twitch to the new announcements and everything and safe to
say like me and the community were quite upset and after look at looking over the footage I think there's a few reasons
why us PC players as a player base were quite upset with the announcement obviously it's great that the game's
going to console I think the console players are generally going to love the experience of the game at the start
especially um you know even way back when we got the game uh for the the first time it was a fantastic launch
experience even with all the bugs now console players get to have that same experience except with a more polished
game which is is awesome that's great for them right but I think the thing that a lot of people are upset with is
that we haven't actually seen any of the new stuff and we also haven't had too much discussion about the new stuff with
the new div video which I watched on on stream as well it was kind of all just catering to the console players and
there wasn't really any new information into what's coming um you know we got confirmation of repeatable Trials Soul
and a three boss raid um with a four sort of four main things that we got confirmation of and there's also a few
other things that have been spread around that we can also confirm and took off that list such as uh Barber there's
new hairstyles on the archetypes which I'll get into briefly here but effectively we're sort of waiting for
what's actually coming that's new I guess we're waiting for a div video that caters to us PC V veterans because we've
been waiting you know 6 months for this announcement and it just kind of feels a lot of like I personally feel
disrespected as a veteran of the game if that makes sense and we're getting a Q&A on Monday which hopefully sort of just
talks about uh everybody's confusion cuz again I think that the main problem is not that there's a lack of content it's
that we don't actually know the content we haven't seen anything we've only had confirmation of you know four things
which is kind of a big problem right so hopefully come this Monday we'll have a lot more answers for all of our
questions again there there's just so little we know and I think that's why everybody's so upset we waited 6 months
for this announcement and we still don't really even know anything we know we have a new name right we know it's
coming to console we already knew that uh we already knew the PVP Island was coming you know and all for these things
they could be really fun and good pieces of in-game content Etc and you know the game coming to console it's a whole new
slow of players on servers that's fantastic but we didn't really get anything that was new and I think that's
where people are upset as I've said many times so I quickly want to show and make a list on everything that's new so I'm
going to put some images up on screen that sort of confirms these I guess pieces of content that are coming so for
example we know that we're getting a PVP Island they confirm this in the de video um and they said there's going to be a
uh vendor or a storefront you can go to with a currency that you earn on the PVP Island and get rewards great again I
hope it's good Rewards the PVP Island really will stay alive if it has good rewards so that's uh kind of very
important especially for that sort of system where you can open and enter it whenever you want unlike Alper rush for
example the second thing that we know of is the raids the three boss raid so we've had a couple screenshots not
really anything more than that uh this small little b-roll sigment as well from the trailer I'm showing some sort of
weird looking boss and we also know that the sand worm is also getting upgraded gear score but effectively we're going
to have two in-game raids one of the old on and this new one that's got three bosses and this also was confirmed that
their gear score was going up to 725 um you know I think a little bit of vertical progression here and there is a
good thing to keep the game from being less stale uh and we also know that we are getting a cutless skis rework and we
haven't seen if there's any new weapons I think a lot of people are quite upset by that that there hasn't been any new
weapons shown I we know we're getting a be out but that doesn't I wouldn't really call that content we know we're
getting a barber shop uh with the new hair styles on the archetypes as I said earlier so the archetypes are sort of
like a a base load out you can choose before you start the game so this is going to be more friendly for console
players and presumably Fresh Start V2 so effectively when you first start up your character creation you get to choose
like uh two weapons to start with and it also boosts three trade skills maybe like level 50 or level 25 I'm not too
sure what the the boosted level will be but I think that's quite a cool addition so for example in frar V2 I can just
choose musket rap here and that's going to equip me with that to start off with and start leveling straight away one of
the other I guess features that we know is swimming uh which again we didn't see any gameplay of but I'm going to assume
there's probably going to be a trade skill tied to this like there was with mounts so again we really just have that
confirmation for the content and that sort of leads into the the reason why I think a lot of people are upset and
disappointed with the announcement and rightfully mad even review bombing the game I think the problem is that we
haven't seen anything and we don't know what's coming we don't really know much at all uh other than those like few
things that talked about we basically know about four things that are coming five things maybe if that I think we
just got to wait you know maybe there's a video coming out maybe the Q&A will answer a lot of the stuff I really want
a visual road map of everything that's coming as well I think a lot of people want that but I think the main thing is
this was hyped up as this announcement that'll add all this amazing stuff but we still don't know any of that stuff if
that makes any sense so yeah hopefully we get to learn more about what's actually coming in in the coming days
