treating another exciting one. This topic is quite diverse, but we'll try to narrow it down for you. You know how we

do it and we bring it to you. Hot, hot, hot. Served hot and a little bit of spiciness. We are treating the

prophetical errors in the birth story of Jesus in Matthew. I am sure this rings a bell. Let's get into this. This is

according to the Encyclopedia Britannica. This is what I got from there for you. Matthew's gospel is

especially known for presenting Jesus as the fulfillment of the Old Testament's prophecy, which is why the birth

narrative in Matthew 1 to2 is one of the biggest battlegrounds in biblical debate. Scholars broadly note that

Matthew leans heavily on fulfillment language especially in the infancy story. Now here's a little brief

historical narration. Let's get into this. The best story in Matthew is not written like a casual family biography.

It is written like a theological case. Matthew keeps saying in fact this happened so that scripture might be

fulfilled. He's saying that that happened this happened that that happened so that the

scripture will be fulfilled. We want to find out why he keeps saying that in his books. Now that means the story is not

just about baby Jesus. It is also about proving that Jesus fits Israel's sacred text.

Think about this deeply. We'll get into it quite shortly. The tension starts when critics ask a dangerous question,

which is, did Matthew use Old Testament passages in their real context, or did he stretch them, remix them, and

force them into Jesus's birth story? Was there some kind of mix up somewhere? Some DJ mixing be some some mixing?

We want to find out, you know. So that is where Isaiah, Jeremiah, Hosea, Mikah and even the Nazaren quote inquote issue

all enters the ring. All these are in caucasation and then we are yet to digress it quite shortly.

often preached as proof of fulfilled prophecy. Under the line word, fulfilled prophecy

will go into it. But what happens when those prophecies are examined closely in context and without religious soft

pillows? Was Isaiah really predicting a virgin birth centuries later? or was he speaking to a crisis in King Ahaz's own

time? We are asking all of this. Was Hosea prophesying Jesus or simply talking about Israel's past?

Or and perhaps the sharpest one of all, we are asking where exactly in the Old Testament does it say quote he shall be

called Nazaren? We are asking all of this. So tonight, join me as you know how we do it. We do

not do nursery rhyme or nursery theology or whatever. We are delving into it as it is. We are giving it to you hot and

spicy. We are doing text, we're doing context, we're doing contradiction and also interpretation.

I So you know how we do it here. And then of course helping me do this is my man Abraham bin Moshe like I said early

on who is a common sense leader and also a religious critique and researcher will also take a fearless look at what many

call the prophetical errors in the birth story of Jesus in Matthew this conversation may shake assumptions may

challenge tradition and also irritate comfortable mind that is what it's supposed to be which usually means that

it is worth having. I It's worth having this conversation. We have to know the truth about it. We have to bring it to

Bible to justify a specific theological position, agenda or belief. It often involves ignoring the original author's

intent and the passages surrounding context to force a usually predetermined meaning onto the text. And so I mean

there are some of key aspects of proof texting and then I'll just mention one or two of it. So this is a misuse of

SOMETIMES THE VERSES they picked are not even prophecy. Let me show you one Psalm 41. Now let's check something

here. Now the the the point the point I want is um verse verse 9.

coming to show you. They will pick a verse from Psalm, fix it in a story in the New Testament and you'll be shocked.

charity and when you are sick will heal you. So this is a psalm for a sick person. When I was studing Judaism, when

you are sick, when you read this psalm, then you go and do charity. Okay? >> That if you want to be healed, that's

the purpose of this psalm. SO THIS IS NOT A PROPHECY. It is a song. Now continue.

>> I have said I have sinned against the Lord. >> So when David was sick, then he said, I

SAID, THE EYE IS DAVID. I SAID, UH-HUH. I have sinned against the Lord. Uh-huh. Be merciful to me and heal me.

>> YOU KNOW WHENEVER YOU ARE sick and the sickness becomes severe, you start confessing yourselves because you know

you can die any time. Then you start say, "Hey, maybe if I've done something wrong." So David was smart and was

confessing his sins while he was sick. So continue. >> My enemies say things about me.

bowl um a bowl of water and then Jesus started washing the feet of the disciples. Now go to verse 15. Now the

point is at verse 18. So 15 to 18. Let's go >> verse 15. I will set an example for you.

So after Jesus washing the disciples feet, he told them, I have set an example for you

>> so that you will do just what I have done for you. >> So that you will do just talking about

humility. So that you do have just done for you. Continue. >> I'm telling you the truth.

>> Jesus told them, I am telling you the truth. >> Slaves are never greater than their

masters. >> Now continue. >> And messengers are never greater than

the one who sent them. >> Continue. >> Now that you know the truth, how happy

will you be if you put into practice? So Jesus was telling the disciples they should put it into practice the feet

washed so that they should practice. Now verse 18 >> verse 18 I'm not talking about all of

me. >> Is it a prophecy? Now they say it is a fulfillment OF JUDAS SHARING FOOD WITH

Jesus and going TO BETRAY HIM. SO THEY TOOK PSALM 41:9 OUT OF CONTEST, FIXED IT IN THIS STORY TO MAKE IT LOOK

LIKE THERE IS A PROPHECY IN THE OLD TESTAMENT WHICH says when the Messiah comes, somebody will eat him and go and
